Title: The good luck lads Grimsby Matchday Thread
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on April 25, 2011, 08:35:04 AM
A lot of people may have been cross on here over the last day or so,but thats because we care,so good luck lads today,Two world cup finals to play, win them both and that might just turn the season overnight!!

I shall be missing from the last two games. Statistically, this appears to be a good thing.

I've been to three away games this season : Southport, Forest Green, and Fleetwood. We lost them all, and were generallly pretty appalling.

I've only missed two at home : Grimsby, and Kettering. We weren't beaten in either of them and there were plenty of goals !

Come on lads ! Get out there and kick ass !

Having been to every home game and 11 away games this year I wont be there as, like a lot of our players, I can't be arsed.

Gutted I cant be there today, work commitments and living on the other side of 2 countries is to blame.

As has been said before if we get beat by a superior team I won't mind, as long as you run your bollocks off, chase every ball and play your heart out for the whole game.

Make the lads that are travelling proud of you today.

PRIDE. PASSION. BELIEF.

Show us you have it gentleman.

Good to see Brown come in for the pathetic Baynes. I'd have ledt him out and told him to look for a club in the welsh Premier, to be honest.

A bit of fight will do. Show that, against a side with nothing to play for, and you never know...

Stockport losing 1-0 at home to Northampton Town.

Just hope that we will still be there to welcome them, in that event.

Indeed.

we need to win today, and against Eastbourne.

If tamworth / FGR lose or draw today, even a draw between them would not be good enough for us.

We would really need southport to lose / draw both their games in order to give us a better chance.

We can only reach 47 pts. our goal difference is awful, so any other team on 47 pts (like barrow) would be above us.

Not enough unless we overturn about 40 goals

20 minutes away from finally falling through that trap door which has been left open especially for us. It is nice to hear that the boys are giving their all today and as has already been said it will just be sods law that we go down on a day like this. I am currently praying for a darlington goal and hoping that God is a Robin, but if not I'd just like to give my thanks to Kenny now for doing all he could.

The plus side of Southport winning on Saturday is that a FGR v Tamworth draw is enough to keep them both ahead of us but not ahead of Southport so an arranged draw will relgate one of them if Southport win

Well done today lads, that's a brilliant set of results all round.

We're still alive and we can't ask for any more than that right now!

Well, Easter is the time for resurrections, after all...!

Oh my sweet jesus I've just got in from work and slowly read the match thread from post one and my heart is thumping...I was looking at the screen through my hands by page 10....

My overall thoughts and comments deserves a thread all by itself.

So we need to win, Southport to lose and Tamworth or Forest Green to win in their game against each other. No other option

I'm just glad we're still in with a shout.

Saturday is going to be enormous.

Kettering having to win is the real dodgy one. Whilst Southport have an appalling away record they showed with their win at Tamworth last Saturday they can get results away in the pressure games. Kettering have won 7, drawn 8 and lost 7 at home this season so they are clearly very beatable. Mind you they did beat FGR at home last week so they haven't chucked it just yet...

I'm loving radio robins - another plus is it's making the threat of relegation much less scary.  Last time we went down it was a nightmare trying to get up to date info on what was going on.  If we get Radio Robins next year it will really ease the pain for a southern exile.

Well done today. Your boys deserved the win. They wanted it more than us and battled well. It was certainly entertainlng watching your 91 fans going through the motions in the last 5 minutes when we were putting your goal under pressure.

Anyway, good luck for Saturday and I hope you get the result you're looking for.

correct but to guaranteee their own safety FGR + Tamworth need to go for a win. my guess is that will be the live game with a feed to kettering + ML

So we've got five days of nail bitting, snarling at family, friends and work collegues, sleepless nights etc. Never thought we'd be in with a shout on the final day. Great effort today from players and 91 fans.

My miisus got the text that we'd scored when se was about to leave B&Q, needless to say she went back in wandered around for thre rest of the game.

If we get out of this with Twiss scoring the winner I'll take it all back

Not quite - a draw will be enough for FGR whatever happens (beat tamworth on GD and we can't get past them either)

Fantastic result. Still up against the odds but brilliant to at least take it to the last game.

It was a fantastic meal though.......Indian Kitchen.......opposite the Seafront........marvellous.

All in all the two day trip to Cleethorpes was 'miles better than expected' ;D
