What is a tin pot club?....there are small clubs like trafford and cheadle etc but I wouldn't want to insult them by calling them tin pot.

To be a tin pot club I think you have to have ideas far and away above your station....so I'd have to say alfreton RMI welfare or whatever they are called...

I had to put my legs over the seats in front whilst sitting down at Luton, I had no alternative.

Loved our trips to The Abbey.  Some difficult scorelines but it was my favourite ground in the Conference.  Mr Sinnott I want to go back there please!

Silly thread

I to think It's disrespectful to call teams tinpot, its all about where you are

But as for teams that were very low key from the last 30 year it must be Alsager

For non Cheshire cup I would say tow law on cup (and we lost) and spennymoor in league

For the "stadium" alone...

Colne Dynamoes

Just a load of sheds bolted together apart from one end that had about 3 steps of a terrace.

At least most of the above have got a stand....

Copied from JL...

The Times and Star reports that "Workington Reds have been forced to shut their main stand after council chiefs deemed it was a 'serious risk to spectators'.
On the eve of the new season, Borough Park officials have been rocked by the news that leaves the stadium below the required standard to compete at Blue Square Bet North level. The corroded Popular Side stand, which is the main seating area inside the stadium, will be closed for Saturday’s first game of the season against Stalybridge Celtic. But football bosses at the Conference will not call off the match with Stalybridge Celtic, despite the stadium failing to have 250 covered seats, and an overall capacity of 3,000.

Jaysus, this is no place to bury your demons. That's Colne and Tow Law mentioned in this thread now, how about we throw in North Ferriby for good measure? Although I think the line between tin-pot and embarrassing defeat is getting somewhat blurred here

General Chemicals (and we lost didn't we?)

Brian,

Two Cheshire Senior Cup ties played against General Chemicals, by my reckoning.

And we actually won them both!

4-0 at Moss Lane in 1986 and 3-0 away in 1992.

Meanwhile, why hasn't anyone mentioned Accrington Stanley in this thread yet....?

Histon for me, that's not us getting above our station or anything, I think I've seen us there about 4 times and genuinely no-one gives a toss. They make Rushden & Diamonds look for real.

Never as truer word spoken. The whole home support seems to be the varying youth team players in club tracksuits.  An odd place!

First of all Barry, what are you doing up at this time of night?

Secondly, thanks for the email! and

Thirdly, you're right about the results.  ;)

Fourthly, I wonder if they have subsequently morphed through being Mond to becoming Runcorn Town in the West Cheshire and subsequently the NWCL?
