Title: Chester Match Thread
Post by: robininstockport on November 13, 2017, 08:53:26 PM
Hope we rest as many as possible tomorrow. Hope to see Deasy, Callum Jones, Davis, Peers and Amiss get a good run out. And Miller if he can play.

How much is it in?

Saving my pennies for Sutton Coldfield, Alfreton, and Mickleover.

Saving my pennies for Sutton Coldfield, Alfreton, and Mickleover.

Amen to that. Finally a run of Saturday away games in places near big cities that are accessible on mainline trains for us Southerners. The better Midlands aways have not been well spaced out all so far this season in my very selfish Londoner perspective. As for tomorrow I suspect given their position in the relegation zone Chester will be even less arsed than us so I expect us to get the win even with the obviously heavily changed XI.

Richman sent off FFS

Does he get banned from a more important game now?

If I remember correctly a Cheshire Cup game doesn't count towards a league suspension but if you get sent off in the Cheshire Cup the suspension counts for the league if that makes sense!

I think at this level the Senior Cup counts in every disciplinary respect. Reading the updates on the main website the expectation is that Richman will get a three-match ban starting next Tuesday; on that basis he would miss Alfreton (a); any home replay or the League Cup game at Mossley if played the following midweek; and Mickleover. The suggestion from the updates is that he was unlucky in the extreme to be dismissed, but as I'm sat at home having just come in from a meeting I can express no opinion on the matter!
Gone to extra time, apparently (1-1 after 90).

If the sending off is as ridiculous as the updates suggest, surely we could appeal?

It was a 2-footed tackle. With a conference ref, which I assume he is, it’s a red all day long. No complaints from anyone here.

Sounds like those in attendance tonight got value for money!!!

A victory on penalties takes our unbeaten home record to 14, consisting of 13 wins and 1 draw.

Our over all record at home under Parkinson is W13, D1, L1.

Wish we could show this form away from home.

Incident packed game where a team of 10 players outfought a team from 2 leagues higher, missed two sitters, had a good goal disallowed, missed a penalty, re-took th lead in ET and Chester equalised in the 122nd minute.
Went to pens where we won 7-6 I think. phew I need a rest.
The young lads and one or two senior players did well again and this team just doesnt know how to lose !

Excellent vfm.

Superb resilience shown when down to 10 for such a long period of time.

Good showing from young Jones who played the full game, Walsh really impressed. Felt for Amiss who was isolated for most of the night but ran his bollox off.

Couldn't make it tonight as in London.

Well done to the lads, from others in my family that attended we deserved it. So a good result against a team 2 divisions higher.

If we can carry that sort of commitment into away games we will be there or thereabouts come April

Those involved worked very hard tonight, especially playing for so long with ten men. Well done

Some great performances throughout the team,  notably Walsh and Sheridan who have both been a bit rusty recently. Deasy made 2 or 3 quality saves and also saved 2 penalties in the shoot out. Good to see that the fringe players still have enough about them to see off higher-ranked opposition.
After conceding an equaliser with almost the last kick of the game i’d have predicted only one outcome in the shoot out. Nice to be proved wrong.

I make it since Shildon it's unbeaten in 15. Since Matlock it's 2 defeats from 23 (all competitions).

I didn't go, but it seems Mason Walsh impressed according to Chester's Twitter - which is great to see.

Good to see Sheridan getting back up to speed again as well, we should hopefully feel the effects of Richman's ban a bit less than what we did for the Buxton game.
