Title: Sutton Coldfield Match Thread
Post by: robininstockport on November 16, 2017, 12:28:55 PM
Top versus bottom.

Perfect  game to give our away form a boost. To this end I'd only play 1 holding midfielder.

             Thompson

Bembo-Leta Harrison Jones Hamson

                Moult

Johnson Richman Hancock

       Poole Hulme

Sutton 0-3 Alty

Top vs Bottom, 1 point in their last 8 games.

Sutton 1-0 Altrincham

See you all there

(1) I wouldn't change a (usually) winning system so 4-2-3-1 (which I usually hate at Prem level) will be just fine.

(2) JJ on the left.

Bembo-Leta at cb and no Richman?

Sutton 10/3
Draw 3/1
Alty 4/7

We ‘should’ pass them to death on a plastic pitch, but I’d take 0-1, it’s all about points with our goal difference being so good. I see that knobhead from barwell signed for Sutton yesterday with more arrivals promised before weekend. A chance to stretch things at the top with Warrington at inform mickleover, shaw lane and Stourbridge playing each other and Grantham away at a decent Buxton

That knobhead being the Viking lookalike?

He's getting booed when he touches the ball then. Prat.

Sorry I was talking more in general (rather than the Rammy game) - i.e. your personnel above but in the usual 4-2-3-1 formation and the wingers swapped.

Booing him will just give him encouragement. Ignoring him is the best policy.

Looking forward to Saturday first chance for this ex Alty lad to see them in the flesh this season, Alty TV is a great help (many thanks ) Just a train ride this time

My first game since the Stafford debacle-I’m really looking forward to seeing how the team have developed. Think the 3G pitch should suit us too. I note they haven’t had a single home gate above 250 this season in fact most below 200 so think good away support will definitely count too.

As a side factor an excellent day on the ale in prospect before and after the game in Brum city centre. The trains from London with Chelsea at WBA will be nawty

It crossed my mind in the first half that they might have been hoping for a floodlight failure.

Those rubber pellets made the ground seem dark.

Ruthlessly efficient. The game was dead after 10 mins and Jordan Hulme is a killer. SC were dire but our attitude and professionalism is spot on these days. I look forward to more of the same at Mickleover in 2 weeks.

Game over after only 11 minutes,Funny moment after the third goal the keeper turned to the

Alty fans and just puffed his cheeks,as to say what the hell just happened. In fairness the keeper

Probably stopped the score been 7 or 8 made some great saves in the 2nd half.

 Another good following today.

Distance traveller....I went across from Broseley to represent Shropshire today for you. Of course your prediction was just what you thought the score would be after just the first few minutes. I see that! This is the first time I have seen Alty this season. It was efficient but not clinical throughout. Chances were not taken in the second half but who can critise really.
4-0 away is a comprehensive win.

Good win, onwards and upwards,  well done for representing Shropshire in the posh part of Brum

Their best attendance of the season - 294. Sold out of programmes by 2.30

269 being published elsewhere, not seen 294 anywhere but having been there yesterday we collectively thought there were around 350 there. By my reckoning there were around 100-120 Alty there in all parts of the ground.

I thought we comfortably outnumbered the home supporters. Two drummers and a guy on a trumpet does not make a home crowd.

Have to say that they were an odd bunch - the least ultra-ish bunch of ultras that I have seen.

I saw about 10 people just walk through the gates. Would have put the crowd closer to 400. Not surprised if only 269 paid, including all Alty fans credit where it’s due

I certainly wouldn’t begrudge a small NL club my admittance fee

They may have been season ticket holders. There was a group of them ahead of me who walked through the half-open gate rather than the turnstile as apparently that's how it's done at Sutton C.

Mr A Flynn used that gate as it was also used by press or people who pretend to be press for free entry ;)
