Since when has Josh Hancock been a stricker?

Since when has Josh Hancock been a striker?

As a 2nd top scorer, we decided to include him in the FWD section to allow more variation as everyone had JJ Hancock Hulme by the end of the season.

??? But he is a midfielder, we only play with one stricker and thats Hulme

Bit odd that your changing the reality of players positions to suit your game

Hancocks goals should be worth 5 points as a midfielder not 4 points as a striker - because he is a midfielder

Good question.

So, in an ideal world, we'd be able to say a Simon Richman goal is worth more than a Hancock goal (he's in less scoring opportunities than someone who plays very top line)

Should a clean sheet for a CB be worth more than a full back who spends time bombing forward. Or a full back assist be worth more than a CM.

From the official club website:

Josh HANCOCK (d.o.b. 5 September, 1990)

Signed from Nantwich Town in May 2017, Josh is a midfielder who came through The Dabbers' youth set-up before moving on to Winsford United (2009-10). Next, he joined Witton Albion and made more than 150 appearances and scored some fifty times.

He next joined AFC Telford United before a return to Witton, which preceded a move to Salford City and then a return to Nantwich Town in January 2016. He started the season with four goals in his first six appearanes in league and cup matches and remained the leading scorer for the club in the league in mid-November.

I'm not disputing his position I know he's a midfielder.

Yes it does because now you can't have Hancock and Hulme in your team together which is a bit odd considering one is a midfielder and the other a striker

No you manage that through the valuation of the player

If everyone picks Hancock and Hulme, the teams would be identical which is what we had last week.

Been and redone it. Initially thought it was bollox. But it makes you make sacrifices, so can't see anyone having the same 6.

I've got Deasy in nets, so it's now nightmare football

Sorry about that mate. Nice one.

That's the point though, it got far too samey and we needed to do something a bit different to make for what we hope will be a much better game. Personally think a few players are decent investments at their current prices.

If we play one up front then every one has to have that 'one' - now you have to make a choice and shifting Hancock's position IN THE GAME for the benefit of the game is entirely sensible - good call.

Obviously I'm not the only one not interested in the new format. You must have realised too as you're now hoping to reach 100 instead of you're original target of beating the 1st half of the season.

Not really, but if it supports your view, I can see why you'd assume that. My original post was made when we had 141 players registered, and then just needed to pick a team. We also had 12 new players join, so at that point, even if 11 had followed your opinion and not player, our original target would have been hit. We fully expected a drop out of people not wanting to play, but also an increase of new players - especially through fantasy fatigue, and any decent PR person at the club owuld have seen this as an opportunity for decent press coverage for the club.

However, a CMS glitch occured on Friday meaning it wiped all data of the game (you'll see Glynn had to re-do his team his you look below). So we had to start, so re-adjusting the target for the opening day to 100.

We may have got it wrong. We may have got it right and people may like the choice.

And if we, we'll hold our hands up, and  come August we'll look at different ways to improve it - such as perhaps including players who go out on loan to other clubs, removing the need for a GK, adding different point systems such as % tackles.

It's a total shambles less than 50% of participants from the 1st half of the season have signed up again, a clear indication the majority think the tinkering and playing players out of position has made a farce of the game

It's funny you should post that, it will open some time today ahead of Saturday's game. We just need to make a small edit so that additional transfers cost -10.

Points updated.

By way of apology for no one being able to make transfers last week, and because we're still trying to sort it out with the guy so it actually charges people -10, the transfer window is now open and you've all got a wildcard. Transfers cost 0 this week. Couldn't have another gameweek where people can't make changes - so this is all we can do really.

well I set a new team up when I was asked.......

...it hasn't saved my team so I am not now taking part....

why didn't we just run it for the season? I wasn't expecting it to abrubtly end and be restarted...

not very realistic anyway when harrop costs 6.5m .....impossible to have a full team without picking a non started like deasy....

The same thing happened to me, but I'm pretty sure an update was sent out advising people to do it again.

I thought it was always intended to re-start it for the second half of the season, but I might be wrong?

I'd hardly call it a farce, a bit unfair on something that is
a) an external system,
b) the first time its been run,
c) people volunteering time to try and make it work,
d) free,
e) it was stated originally it would only run until January and then reset.

No pleasing some people.

Factually incorrect. Only 30% dropped out.

98 out of 141 re-signed up. Meaning 200 unique people have played the game in total over the two seasons.

Yes, it was planned to be a shorter game with 2 seasons per season to allow people bored of PL FF to join in Jan.

200 unique people? So you got 59 new players in season 2 to add to the 98 that re-signed up? That's great going, fair enough.

Just a quick question.

What are the rules in terms of a clean sheet being awarded?

Jones hasn't been given one for last night, although he had gone off prior to any goals being scored against Alty, yet White wasn't given one earlier in the season when he came on as sub in a game where a clean sheet was achieved.

Thanks

Needs a root and branch review this. Appreciate the lads trying to give the game a reboot, but its become a farce since the change over

Before it was the only thing that kept me interested, now its just another example of the dumbing down of the club

Jones was an oversight and has been updated. Thanks for bringing that one up. White won’t have been given one presumably because he didn’t play an hour.

That’s incredibly drastic. It isn’t a farce at all, actually quite insulted by the comparison to the ‘dumbing down of the club’ as you’ve called it. By all means make your feelings about the club known, but don’t drag a bit of fun (led by fans for fans) into it. Can we not just have one thing that’s a laugh?

Regarding the outcome of the first game ....I had the great fortune to finish 3rd in the game before it was re-set. I understood there was to be some kind of prize awarded for the top 3 ( maybe top 5?)... but i’ve heard nothing since.

Can anyone advise? Thanks

There is a prize for top 5. As one of the top 5 was an under 18, organising a beer tasting wasn't viable so we've arranged some beer prizes for the other 4, and then of course, the actual trophy for the winner.

Hi HC, agreed a post season review is needed. We understand that a January season split isn't working perhaps as intended.

We'll be posting some thoughts later in the year as to the plans, and crowdsourcing opinions to see what could be done to add the additional level of engagement, such as a cup completion, or a monthly points winner
