Title: Poole, Moult and Warrington
Post by: oneedham on January 27, 2018, 05:08:40 PM
Said it before and a good player but Poole for 90% of the time is not involved. Better than Lawrie but similar. Play Hancock number 10.

Moult wins those headers but looks tired. Play Richman and Harrop, they have the energy.

Hampson is class.

Warrington are a concern because they are solid. Huge draw.

Great fight to the end.

I think we need a new quality box to box central midfileder

In this league Richman and Harrop are good enough. If promoted we need another box to box. Richman was good in the first half but would have very likely got sent off being on a yellow with so much of the game left.

With 4 booked today, we may be treading a disciplinary tightrope before much longer. I'd certainly start Harrop on Saturday because his energy gives us something different. If we did lose Richman and Moult at the same time, I'd be inclined to play Densmore in midfield with White at full back.

Poole is a class above. If we aren't getting the most out of him then I think it should be a priority to see how we can rather than dropping him.

Agree with this.

As I said a few weeks ago, play James up front with Jordan and only one winger. We've got two good full backs who get forward so let's play 4-3-3 with Harrop alongside Richman and Moult or Sheridan. This line up would allow us to be more direct, certainly a good idea whilst the pitches are so heavy.

May I just remind you all that Poole got the vital goal yesterday, keeper couldn't hold it and it squirmed through the crook of his arm. Fabulous atmosphere then onwards and loved Thomo's 100 yard run to celebrate the goal.

Poole has had a good season for us an is a major contributer to our game. Always first on the team sheet for me with JJ; my two favourite players along with Ben H

Poole is good but I feel Hancock would be influential as number 10. He makes more happen and gets closer to Hulme who at times can be isolated. I would like to see Peers and JJ put wide with Richman CM and Harrop DM. Harrop's confidence on the ball and passing range is very good. We miss that in mid but need Richman's energy so I would give Moult a rest.

hancock made a difference yesterday when he came on.....

I think moult and poole will suit the league above more than this league.....

wish we could find a way to get another striker alongside Jordan who worked tirelessly again yesterday..

I think he means Harrop. We have too many players whose names begin "Ha......"  ;)

I think it shows how far we've come when we've got 14-15 players that have all made a solid contribution, and are therefore missed when not on the team sheet.

I'd be loath to lose either Moult or Richman unless absolutely necessary - the Buxton home game springs to mind where they were both sorely missed.

Ordinarily I'd say 4-3-3 is a great shout (I bloody hate 4-2-3-1 in the Premier League but it's suited us well) - but I'd also say Poole's best position is No10 and we'd quickly realise it (as per early season) if we tried something else.

As opposed to last season where the entire team began with “hahahaha”

The bottom section of this thread has been removed. We’re better than that folks.

I don’t know what followed my post but was my humour too subtle for you? There was nothing derogatory about it you just didn’t get it or read something into it that wasn’t there. Shame.

Were you the ref on Saturday?

I think I'm right in saying that James hasn't played the No 10 role that much in his past career and scored 20 goals in his part season at this level with Salford. Certainly worth a try pushing him further forward.
