Title: Mickleover- Match Thread
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on March 07, 2018, 06:24:12 PM
Alty 8/15
Draw 3/1
Mickleover 15/4

Can’t change a team that put in a performance like last nights unless for injury

Totally agree Pete.
We could have a similar scoreline to last night
Hope the weather is kind.

4-0 Alty

att 888

Shouldn't need the floodlights so leccy not a problem  ;)

Got the score right (for a change) v Stourbridge. I've got a feeling that Mickleover will put up more of a fight.
2 0

Certainly can't make any unforced changes.

Alty 2-0 Mickleover. Poole, Moult. Attn 768

Just hope tge pitch is somewhere near as good as it was last night

That's for sure. They gave us a good battle at their place and we could easily have dropped two points.

2-1 (Hulme, Harrop)

Attendance 765

I'd have Hannigan and Densmore straight back in if fit. White and Jones yet to convince me.

It’s a big opportunity to break five wins distance away from Warrington with them facing a tricky tie against barwell

I would like to see Dens coming back in, other than that leave as is.

Hopefully pitch will be improving so we can play some good football again.

2-0 Alty Hancock and Hulme 803 attending.

Heavy rain forecast all through Friday night and Saturday morning as it stand unfortunately.

The game might be on, but it might not be pretty.

The weather is so frustrating at present. Seems to get to the eve of match day and the weather gods unleash all they can on us.

Hoping they look kindly on us over the next 24 hours. Please  :)

Awakened by the sound of a waterfall. The gutter above my bedroom is blocked. With any luck the bloody pigeon that chunters away up there will fall in and drown.

I'm afraid the inspection is rather more necessary than we would hope. It's very wet out there.

50/50 chance of more rain later plus playing today could bugger the pitch up for the week ahead and we all know how bad it drains anyway. I’m sure Anthony Taylor has made the right call on this occasion.

I suppose the bigger picture is the next three home games coming thick and fast. We shouldn’t be so quick to forget the state that Witton game left the pitch in.

The pitch debate is becoming so boring. This forum is dying on it's arse. At 3pm it probably could host a game but we have more home games in a short period of time and playing today would absolutely destroy the pitch. I am gutted it is postponed but it will be the right decision.
It chucked it down for hours last night so there will be water that won't drain.
Can all the negative people just enjoy what is a great season. Yes we shouldn't be here but we are so accept it and crack on. I am sure the club will look into pitch improvements at the end of the season.

I don’t see any criticism or debate about the game being called off. Just a general consensus that it has rained heavily and the pitch is waterlogged. Have I missed something?

Match now re-arranged for Tuesday March 20th, according to main website, though whether this date is at the request of the clubs or the behest of the League isn't clear (Mickleover's scheduled League Cup game on that day has been re-arranged for Thursday 22nd, apparently). We're doing a Warrington in reverse - playing a League game 24 hours before a scheduled Senior Cup game at home to Winsford. The cynic in me wonders if we'll beat Warrington's reported 'crowd' figure of 54 for the Senior Cup game ... I know I won't be present on the Wednesday, though I'll do my best to make the Tuesday game!

I wonder if we'll look to play the CSC game at a different venue? Two games in 24 hours would surely be ruinous to the Moss Lane pitch.

I know it wouldn't work because of ground grading etc but I'd love to see us use Heywood Road as an alternative venue. I suppose Trafford is a more realistic option as others have already suggested. Maybe Valley Road, Flixton's old ground could be used?

Winsford pitch is worse than Moss lane for drainage. That is why 1874 have a massive fixture pile up.

The CSC is not a priority, the ability to stage home league games on a surface which gives our team maximum advantage is. All decisions need to flow from this.

surely the csc match needs moving to Trafford or flixton or stamfrod park and losing as well.

The point has been made, three warrington victories and we don't play and the situation is reversed...pressure on us all of a sudden.

Lets keep focus on that league title and guaranteed promotion and not get giddy over a cup none of us would have minded being knocked out of in the first round.

The idea was suggested weeks ago of moving a few matches to Trafford who seem to get all their matches on...had we done that we may/probably would have been 13 points clear of warrington now.

Oh and scousr alty doesn't sound like grahame...he sounds more like that guy a few years ago who came on here with which league should alty play in next season? a) conf N b) conf N c) I don't know how to set up a poll 4) sorry lads...
