Title: "It was not the result we were looking for"
Post by: One Foot in the Grave on September 27, 2018, 03:46:24 PM
Macclesfield Town manager Mark Yates win this year's "Nobel Prize for Stating the Bleeding Obvious " after last night's slight 8-0 hiccup against a below-strength West Ham.

How very true, but not remotely sad. I just love schadenfreude.

Similar nonsense coming out of Hereford it seems (IMO)...........a strategic review by football experts have recommended a change to a Head of Football and a Head Coach, instead of the more traditional Manager / Assistant Manager roles ?
I assume that, just like when big businesses bring in the 'external' experts, they never ever take the view that things are not far wrong and tweaks only are needed !

For what it's worth, my Hereford supporting friend at work agrees with you, and thinks the new arrangements are pretentious nonsense for clubs at our level.

On the other hand, unlike Macc, they may be starting to turn the corner following their spectacular comeback at Truro when they won 4-3 in extra time after being 3-0 down.

I wish we were enough of a laughing stock to play in the league cup. Macc seem to play West Ham every third season in one cup of other. We have to qualify to play in the fa trophy..

When we get that far - and I believe it's a realistic target - I want US to actually be prepared for it. Macc patently aren't.  Start winning our home games and we could even be playing them twice next season. We did laughing stock last year. Once is more than enough.

Yeah - I wish we were in the FL and had just got thumped 8-0 away midweek against a Premiership side (albeit reserve squad)

It was only 2 seasons ago we were being thumped almost every game in the league we are in now :(
