Title: Purchasing the York/Alty game
Post by: Steve from Sale on July 22, 2020, 10:42:22 AM
Can I ask the club when the link will be available to purchase the game this Saturday, or have I missed it somewhere. I was unable to find it in the original one for the Chester game.

Gone onto it but just shows time remaining and nowhere to actually purchase the game. I am only buying one at a time, but cannot see where you purchase the York game?

I clicked the link and it showed me a big 'Buy Me' button. I paid and now it shows a countdown to the game. Perhaps you've already bought it without realising, perhaps it's a flawed website?

How strange, i went on the website, having purchased the chester game and there is a countdown already. No option to purchase this game. Is there a foul up and they think i bought all of the games? Anyone seeing the same?

I didn’t get the Chester game. That seems to be the difference (well, from a sample of 3 cases).

I would hate to get to the game and find they have messed up the payment. We could get it free i guess, but dont want to risk it. Who would we even speak to? Or is it something for the club to do on our behalf perhaps?

Even if you go through the club site one in our .com site, it even then when you try and purchase, takes you through to the countdown.

If you then click the match it goes to the timer again with no option to buy. maybe it is 2 for the price of 1 hehehe.

I have tried various logins, not letting me sign up for the match either. I sent a message to the host, no reply yet.

Having tried both iPad and laptop without success, I managed to sign-up via my phone. Funnily enough, I used the laptop to sign-up for the Chester game, but used the ipad to watch the game - coincidental that the only device I hadn't used before allowed me on? If anyone else is having problems, may be worth clearing browsing history/cookies etc which may be causing the problem?

The registration process doesn't seem to like the Google Chrome browser - it works fine in Microsoft Edge and Firefox

The camera angle is appalling.  They have no camera higher than 5 feet off the ground!

Looks like they've decided to use just the one camera for this game  :-\ What a good, competitive game between two good teams. I know it's a cliche but we definitely need a second goal against decent full time opposition. Mooney has been outstanding but so has Fergus on for them. I think Flynny will be happier today in more professional company!

From the comments I’m glad I haven’t subscribed but listening to the excellent commentary on Radio Robins.

Plus I can also watch the Test Match at the same time 🙄🙄🙄

Do we know it was filmed from that position?

Would have been better if it was broadcast from a gopro on a player

Quality of picture was better, but he was placed in a poor position to film. Shame because that was a good match to watch.

Thought the commentary was good, Guy and Brian.

Hopefully next week will be better.

Stream started late which was worrying at the beginning.

Other than the low down angle, the actual camera work was infinitely better than the Chester game where it was like watching the whole game through a jam jar with no zoom capability.

I thought the camera work was exceptional. It's extremely difficult to keep all of the action in shot from pitch level - the lower you are to the ground the more you have to pan - but this guy didn't miss a trick for 90+ minutes. The cameraman probably wouldn't have had much choice as to where he was positioned. The streaming quality was much better but might be that they had greater bandwidth (ground to server) than for the Chester game for some reason?

They really need to start the stream 10 minutes before kick off so people know they are in the right place and ready to go. A message saying the stream will start shortly at 3.01 was not helpful

Agreed, we were panicking we were not going to see the match.
