First season back. Covid. 13th is a very fine result.

with the number of games being postponed due to covid I’ve a strong feeling some teams are going to struggle to complete their programme. The PPG table is becoming far more relevant as that is likely to be used when the 20/21 season is curtailed.

More than double the ppg required to stay up will do nicely!

I agree that ppg is the only way to see how the season is really going, however you have to keep in mind that when other teams play the games to catch up they can’t both win.

Boreham Wood would have been up to 4th in the 'normal table' if they'd have held on against Dover last night - which is amazing, I thought they were rubbish.

Maybe end the season as planned with as many games played as possible and then PPG for playoffs, relegation etc

I think you need all clubs to have played a minimum number of games (50% at the very least) for PPG to be applied. At the moment, I am not sure the likes of Dover could achieve that. An extension in the spring would help for that, even if not every single fixture gets played. These are all tweaks; we are not really in disagreement.

Above all, though, I am shocked and disappointed that there was no mechanism determined on how to settle a short season in the summer without clubs inevitably voting out of self-interest. Last season was unexpected, and can be understood and forgiven, but it seemed so obvious to me that something should have been decided before this season started in case it, or any other, failed to finish.

I think things are slowly changing. Admittedly it's like trying to turn a supertanker around but this time last week there were only two local authorities not seeing increasing figures. We are now in the situation where about half the local authorities are now on a downward slope. OK, things aren't falling dramatically but they are starting to head in the right direction.

Another month or so and the vaccine will start to have an effect on hospitalisation so barring another mutation that the vaccine can't counter I don't see any reason why the season can't be played out. It might have to be extended by a month but it's still doable.

I'd just love to walk down to the ground and stand on the spot behind the goal that i've spent too much of my life in.  Packed golf road end, tuesday night, singing etc  When do we think?  april, may or not this year?

Not this 'season' at least I would guess.
Hoping it's going to get better soon isn't enough. It isn't.
And that's not taking into account the inevitable utter c*ck ups in the vaccination programme.
This was always going to be the case and plans for how to decide the season should really have been discussed and put in place.

I'd even take just seeing the people I stood with for a pint to watch the game.

Its a shame the performances so far will be overshadowed
By the pandemic.

It is an odd one for me because it isn't that long since some clubs did have crowds allowed (just not clubs up North). Our lads played in front of a crowd at Dagenham and Redbridge.

I take some solace from the fact that if it happened recently in some areas pre-vaccine, then it can happen again.

In the mean time I've been satisfied with the streaming. OK, there have been a few glitches but generally it has been watchable and although the crowd and match atmosphere is missing you can see more on the box than you can when you are stood at the wrong end of the ground. It's good value IMHO.

Same for me Cheshire Cat, as an Alty fan who doesn't live in Alty I have actually seen more games this season than usual - I haven't missed one steam!
