Title: Happy Easter - I wish! (o/t - ish)

And not only that - if your "vaccine passports" go ahead, millions could be denied basic services etc. including watching sporting events and access to jobs.

"Those attending... major sports events... will be required to provide proof of a jab, test or natural immunity".  One wonders if non-league football will be considered a "major sports event" - lad/s.

Oh, and the Kenyan government has warned of vaccine apartheid after that country (of which I have written previously) was added to a government "red list". Whatever else this nonsense is, it is certainly discriminatory.

"Over 50% of managers favour refusing work for those who have not been vaccinated".

Is this really what "London" Alty support? Seriously lad(s), you want to look at yourselves. And if you want to try snitching on me again and get me banned, quite frankly I am well rid of you if I get banned for doing things that are pretty much the same as what other people are doing (and still no one using the other forums!).

Alty Unitarians have a service at 11:30 today but they'd need to get a move on. Perhaps one of the four services today at St. Vincent's RC would be a better option.

Hope that helps.

Hugh - This is a football forum for Altrincham FC. Not a political discussion arena - see the daily mail for that.

It is common sense to do a risk assessment of returning, and you will be fully aware that many businesses have felt enforcing everyone has been vaccinated will reduce any potential claims or issues resulting from employees becoming ill.
Many businesses are worried that if they do not enforce everyone having vaccinations before returning to an office, that they may be liable if an employee returns, has covid, infects a person or, persons. In the worse case scenario of an employee dying because they contracted covid from a colleague whilst at work, the company could very well be liable under health and safety at work.

Agreed!

these passports cannot work because most of the population have not even been offered a vaccine.

As for needing tests to work; some of us have been working since the start of this  with management working on the principle that, if we have symptoms, then we will get ourselves tested.

Unfortunately a suprisingly low percentage of people with symptoms bother to have a test.

I have been having symptom free testing twice weekly for months, do it at home now. Two minutes of action, half an hour for a cuppa tea afterwards. Fnarr fnarr.

Not political discussion? Isn't it?  Look at yesterday's thread! :)

Besides, this business has quite a lot to do with Altrincham fc at the moment. As I said, no positive discrimination. I want everyone to be able to attend games next season. And football clubs have got involved in politics where necessary. (Charlton Athletic spring to mind).

Anyway, back to the football... I checked the goal scorers for the last full National League season (2018-19) - 9 goals (my Tom Peers projection for this season's NL if he played all of every game in a 46 game season) would have put you joint 28th top scorer. And a few club's top scorers were even less than that.  Admittedly, strikers are unlikely to play 46 games of 90 minutes in a league season (even when there are 46 NL games available!). Still, remind me of the going rate for a 20 goal a season NL striker - or even 15 goal a season. Make no mistake, it will be a tremendous achievement if the club can find one. And I hope they do, of course...
