Who? From what I can see our best players are Berkley and Whaley both of whom I don't provide any details for they are done by their previous clubs. Colin Little scores goals this year something he failed to do on the last one.

Constructive comments are welcomed....

Alex ( ;D), where is this editor so that i can change stuff around to make it easier coz i cant seem to find it.

On a side note, Berkley is quality, Whalley is quality, All of the strikers score and i'm ninth in the keague after 11 games. Beat oxford away, burton at home, stevenage at home and i was 3-0 up against salisbury (finished 4-0). I could see it all collapsing but it didn't.

(Lee Peatfield is a quality left back)

Finished my first season yesterday and came 11th.  :o.

I also managed to get Leo Fortune-West on a free transfer and am looking good at the moment but then again pre-season proves nothing. dont get Ian Richardson, he gets very bad and complains a lot.

Start the game as man utd (bear with me) and buy 3 alty players for a grand total of £10.1 million then resign and take over alty and you have a huge transfer budget and the club love you. Not quite cheating. I bought Val Owen (who has a champions league winners medal now), Matthew Berkley and Chris Senior. Then you have a huge transfer budget. I didnt think and bought Altys best players. Off to resign in a minute. :-*

I don't like FM 08 mainly because it is really slow on my ancient laptop, but also because its gash

all four strikers, mainly Matty Berkley, are too good.
My ass-man tells me sedgemore is my best player and should start right back over Chris Lane!!
and if that wasn't unrealistic, Robbie Lawton is the teams best crosser.

Not as bad as my network game i started with a mate
I was Boro, he was Villa and somehow he managed to sign Owen for 10mil!!!

Give me FM 07 anyday

Any player who was not at the club last season was rated by the respective researcher ie Berkley was done by the Grenter bloke, this gives a more accurate picture of the player. Re Crossing, Potts should be the best crosser, but he was not at the club at the end of last season (at Barrow). The game also adjusts the players rating based on their CA and PA (see the in game editor) perhaps Robbie is on the way to being one of the BSP's best players. (quick hint : By Chalmers he has the PA to be a great League 1 player  ;) )

We can always go back to the days of nobody doing the Alty squad and having an out of date team as in FM05 and '06!!

Just thought I'd share my team as I'm on a 5 match winning streak and in a play-off place in first season and only spent 10 grand on stacy long from Ebbsfleet and Michael Welch from Vics, all the rest were free transfers or original players:

Coburn

Liam Atkin (RB) Most Man of the matches and gets into team of the week about 3 times a month!
Ian Richardson (CB)
Michael Welch (CB)
Greg Young (LB)   ... as in the same one we've got from halifax

Robbie Lawton (MR)
Tony Carrs (MC) More defensive, best transfer!
Stacy Long/James Pinnock (MC) Both really attacking players, both quality
Gareth Whalley (ML)

Nathan Jarman (ST) Scored 7 goals in 5 games, immense!
Aaron Burns (ST) RAPID!

i just got the rushden job after being turned down by halifax (spent past 5 years in the welsh premier with aberysthwyth with 3 league wins - 2 cup wins and made it to the knock out round of the uefa cup). so i am now on the look out for a striker and a goalkeeper, any suggestions of good ones on the sixth year in the game?
Title: Re: Football Manager 2008

Goalkeepers:

Adam Legzdins
Przemyslaw Kazmierczak

Strikers:

Nathan Jarman
Jon Shaw
Then youve just got the obvious quality conference strikers like Liam Marum, Giuseppe Sole, Constable, Mackie (Exeter) , Phillips (Torquay)

ok played a few games now and i thought i'd post my progress because well i got nowt better to do.

niether of the keepers that Moss Lane Man suggested (thanks by the way) didn't want to play for me so i went wive a youth team goalkeeper i had at aberystwyth (that i highly rated and did well at my feeder club whilst on loan there) so i stuck him in as my number 1 at rushden (rhys jones) .

my record so far is played 5 won 3 drawn 1 lost 1  and am currently sitting 8th in the BSP. my only loss was to kettering and it was a late penaulty that made it 4-3 to them. however since then i have bolstered my defence with some good defenders (ismail yakubu & luke oliver - no jokes) and we seem to be more solid at the back and i am waiting for many panther to decide wether he is joining me from bury (where he is transfer listed - the deal i have is a 6 month loan with option to buy).

my next game is wrexham away so i should get 3pts there because in truth i rele should be beating teams like that ;)

Played Kidderminster(top of the league) 5 times in 2 weeks in the FAT quarter finals, SS 5th Round and away in the league. Drew the 4 cup games and won on penaltys but lost the league game 3-1. Just got beaten 2-0 by Weymouth (18th). On a bit of a poor run and on my unemployed user I have been at Lincoln and Exeter. Now at Rochdale and have got 4 draws against top 10 sides. Now only 3 points from safety.

Whoever i bought for exeter has scored against me at alty.  >:(

Still in a playoff position in the first season and only 6 points off the leaders.

Could be an interesting run in.

Yup, connect 2 or more pc's to the net. Start a new game on one, when you have the game started as normall, go to "preferences" then "network" and click on "run as server" this will give u and IP address. in the "general" tab. Give this to the other users they can then connect to the game.
