bit of a delay at the moment - floodlights not working.  Efforts being made to correct the fault.  Bit of chaos, good turnout but turnstiles shut for a bit while they try and fix the lights

Yes, I have received txts about the floodlights, I was desperately hoping it'd be sorted quickly, a certain bunch of inbred salt munchers from down the A556 will be amused

Big result for SW, just got food and kids sorted, thought I'd miss a fair bit. The fuse is in the post.

Seriously though for Luton fans, anyone by train will be struggling. The club would do well to advertise the Cresta Court and others.

You're welcome to stay, in fact we cant stop you anyway, but please just have a modicum of sense and keep the smartypants comments to a minimum.

Perhaps whilst your here you could tell us your thoughts on the meeting thats on the other thread. My thoughts are that rushe was putting a positive spin on a dire situation, but I hope you lot stay up by the skin of your teeth. Its worth it for Christmas!

from bbc text (so probably completely wrong) sounds pretty even but not many clear chances.  few corners/free kicks for each side

text from the match confirms 'pretty even'

BF saying Luton had only half chance in last few minutes.  Ralph not having the best night apparently.

Save the last sub for Stu to come on for the shoot out?

Ralph has a good penalty saving record too i think.  I'd use it at the start of extra-time, hopefully we will be fresher with the extra man.

purely looking back to Stu's penalty saving record.  Might also worry the opposition if we bring on a specialist, just to add to the pressure.

Nothing against Ralph as I was impressed with him vs Luton and FGR

Darlo lad is now concious.  Hoping it's not a fracture, delay was waiting for specialist strechture, they did hear a loud crack as he hit the floor.

Darlo director on the radio was superb - gave full credit to Droylsden for the victory despite talk of abandoning the game.

Once again all the best to the lad -  called Hatch I think

are we sure? I've lost count!

ah well 180 240 mins against a mid table 2nd div side shows how far we've come.

Don't think Luton deserved it over the two games but good luck to 'em.

Arse!

Hard luck Alty. Sounds like over the 2 games we edged it on quality, but it shows we are stronger than we were last 2 seasons to not give any goals away in open play.

Sounds like Smiffy was good

We had our chances in the match at their place and at ours by the sound of it.

Unlucky lads.  Warren must be feeling crap.  Chins up lads.  Given the chance for being 12 th in the league and giving a league team two good games I'd certainly have taken it.

0-0 home & away against mid table 2nd Div team (ignoring 30pt deduction) shows we could be dark horses for the Trophy (and the CSC)

I was on the phone to my dad - much more effective way of staying in touch, with the added bonus of getting deafened in one ear every now and then. Bad luck alty! But there's always next year and I'd swap the FA cup for staying up in the league not by default any day!
keep up the good work lads!

Yep. I guess the penalty was a big turning point. If they'd been one down with 10 men and having to go for it rather than hang on for pens (assuming that's what they did) it might have been different.
Decent showing over two legs.

After Chris's finishing on Saturday I'd have rather they left him stood up and kept 11 on the pitch.  they didn't seem to create much at Luton and not much today from the sound of it.  One goal would have been enough I reckon.

Still, onwards and upwards

im gutted  :( ......but im proud aswell
the 'if onlys' have started to creep in....
1) if only warren had blasted it down the middle (but i feel for him because it wasn't a bad penalty)
2) if only senior's goal in the first game had been given
3) if only we had a crowd that big each week!

nevermind onwards and upwards, well played alty

the lads gave it their all and we did non league football proud. Does anyone know why Colin went off? Could have used him for the penalty... Hope Warren doesn't blame himself for the penalty miss he put in a great shift again. On a lighter note Youngy passed his uni exam.....

I'm glad people are sympathetic toward Peyton because he put in a great shift tonight and agreeing with tpark2 it wasn't a bad penalty. Great performance to keep a league 2 team at bay for over 200 minutes. I though Mark McGregor and Dale Johnson especially stood out today. Also I would like to thank those true Alty fans who told the so-called fans to shut up when an Alty player was taking a penalty.

Just got back. Feel sorry for Warren, although I don't agree that he played well if that's what is meant by 'great shift'. He did run his bollocks off though, could never criticise his work rate. I agree Dale played really well, although he wasn't awarded as many freekicks as he should have been. In fact, now I think of it, the referee was poor tonight in my opinion.

As for the ire that was stirred up by the singing of pro-Alty chants before our pens; I'll never understand that. Why do people get so angry about the crowd chanting Robbie Lawton's name before his pen!?

Proud of the lads though, had Senior not been professionally fouled we'd have won, and everyone gave their all for the cause. We'll just have to win the Trophy now!

Thanks for the Link. You would have thought they would test the lights a bit earlier
Stockport are 1 up i see

The lights were tested yesterday they were on working from 5pm tonight it was not the floodlights it was a main fuse.
The attendance was 2397 189 from Luton plus some in the stands.

Message to the two scum that sneaked in the away to attack the little kid then then run when out numbered by stewards into the streets don't bother coming back you will not be welcome

It wasn't that mate it was the constant chanting of albino as they were about to take the penalty. I was chanting his name as he was walking up to take the penalty however, once he placed the ball I was quiet.

That is out of order I don't think the Luton crowd did anything to upset Alty however I doubt the scum who attacked that kid were Alty fans just a game a season people

I didn't have a clue about that. That's absolutely disgusting. Why do these morons turn up on FA Cup night? Last year a Man City 'mob', this time 2 idiots willing to attack kids.

Gutted about last night. Thought it was about evens but was disappointed about our lack of actual shots on target.

Does anyone know yet why Colin went off? We desperately needed someone of his class in the 2nd half and extra time - most notable when the ball ran through to Peyton a couple of times in the box who mis-controlled it, when we needed someone like Colin or Senior to control it and get a shot in.

Both Colin and Senior should have stayed on imo :(

Sorry but what do people mean that Warren put in a good shift (cos he ran for 120 mins??!), don't normally have a go at players (leave that to Ol) but that guy is so far out of his depth it is untrue. Its not cos he missed a pen cos that was probably the best touch he had all night. He's just far too slow and not an intelligent enough player to make up for it.

How can anyone justify, in a "must win game", playing peyton in front of Elam its crazy.

Why the hell was senior pulled off cos he could run for 120 mins and actually play football!

Missed Little after half time no one was clever enough to break them down.

Also wish the singers walked round to the corner of the popular side in the first half - its always a great atmosphere down there compared to the golf road end.

Anyway rant over just gutted I suppose!!!
