Title: Cambridge United info for Tuesday
Post by: ChrisVessey CUFC on September 06, 2009, 04:17:12 PM
You'll be housed in the 1,400 all seater South Stand behind the goal this season, and charged £18 for the privilege (apologies for that, it's a disgrace tbh).

You're all welcome in the Supporters Club before the game which houses plenty of drink, hot and cold food from bacon rolls to curry and chips and a big screen tv.

Safe trip down.

Blame the club, they charge home fans the same to sit, it's ridiculous. The worst thing for you guys is, when you look to your left, you'll see a perfectly good bit of terracing holding about 1,100 fans completely empty bar a few flags and a ballboy!

Its about time we started to harden the f**k up,clubs that have terracing available yet choose to fleece our supporters should be treated in the same way at moss lane, nothing personal just business. Later this year a cambride united supporter and his son will be able to watch the return fixture for a total of £15 for both yet cambridge want £18 for one person for the same product. They had no problems roping off a bit of terracing in april when they knew they would fill that stand with home fans.....

No, blame the people that pay it. Clubs are in business to make money. If everyone refused to pay more than £10 the most they could charge would be £10

Its getting beyond a joke - there is no good reason why our fans can't be housed in the same standing area we've had for the last two seasons at Cambridge.

Greedy bastards!

Surely opening up that stand for about 50 of us will cost far more than just sticking us down the side? The reverse of the logic that klatering were using yesterday. 18 pound for Conference football is just a bit silly.

With most things I would agree but they know they have us with football, there is no way I could get the train home on Tuesday and read the forum for updates when Alty are playing 45 mins up the road.

£18 quid or £10.

I suspect that the appropriate phrase that we are looking for on this occasion is 'damage limitation exercise'.

This.

It'll be an heroic effort to avoid defeat.

Stop talking silly, you always play well at the Abbey. You're always one of the most resilient and frustrating teams to break down and tomorrow will be no different.

Don't let the 7-0 fool you, it was against a ten man awful, awful, awful, awful FGR side that are doomed to relegation. It will be after the Lord Mayor's show tomorrow and i can see you coming away with another draw.

Last three seasons at the Abbey - 0-0 when we could have won the league, you defended like demons - 2-1 win, we scored a fortunate deflected winner after a superhuman performance from Coburn - 2-2, we were lucky to get the point after a quality game of footy from both sides. I'll leave out the 4-0 the first time we met  ;)

You always raise your game at the Abbey.

Seeming to forget though Chris that each time we have come down we have had a squad to field.Tomorrow you will see 11 Altrincham players out on the pitch who will give it their all,but the bench will be sub keeper,a kid we have just taken on loan and the rest will be named but unlikely to appear due to injury.

As was shown on Saturday,we can give anyone in this league a game. But feel that having players like Holroyd on fire that you will score and just have too much for us. But I shall be there hoping we can nick something.

Was Pass at fault for any of the other 6 goals? If for most of them, shows the sorry state of English goalkeeping that he is the England U18 keeper.

Actually Chris, I'm with you on this one. It wouldn't be the first time in the annals of Alty that having our backs to the wall has spurred us to overachieve. I fancy us for 1-1, with an unlikely scorer. Williams at a set piece maybe ?

Nasha, no blame could be apportioned to Pass for any of the 6 he conceded. One was a penalty after coming on and from then the nine players in front of him just gave up, plain and simple. Petr Cech would have had a job keeping the other goals out what with the effort FGR lacked after the red card. He was in tears at the whistle and the only player to comfort him was our 'keeper Danny Potter! I've never seen a team crumble so easily and just pack it in.They were a disgrace. It was an insult to their supporters and livelihood. We basically walked the ball into the net. That's why i'm in no way getting carried away with the result.

You also have to factor that your assistant manager was our chief scout for a year so he will know our squad inside out, strengths and weaknesses to boot. It will be an interesting game. I can see us probing for most of the 90 minutes trying to break you down whilst you try to catch us on the break.

I'm sure Ken was at Cambridge for considerably less than a year Chris!

The only way we'll get anything will be if we can keep it at 0-0 but I wouldn't put that beyond us.

Come on you Super, prove me wrong (again) !

Chris,

Were you anywhere the Nicky Clee incident? Chap on Confguide swears blind that he was not even touched by the Cambridge guy?

I just cannot believe it, or at least he injured himself with a a twist.

Why on earth would he take himself off for 3 mins then limp around for 10 then eventually get subbed?

The chap also said he wasn't limping, I saw him limp so the creedance of this chap is not to high in my water.
