For those interested, I've volunteered  on the social media along with Simon for coming up to 3 years now. In that time, we have grown the Twitter following from 2000 to over 12200 followers. We cover all info from the main site and all match day activity including play by play updates for every home and away game. The support and engagement we receive on there has no doubt helped raise the profile of the club and I am extremely proud of the work we have done in that time, along with the excellent work Ecky does on Facebook. Considering we all work full time I think we do as well as we possibly can, but of course the more people who volunteer/get involved the better these channels will get.

In December Simon and I are both taking a step back from volunteering as our first baby is due. I am happy that fans like Jack and @wearealty are exploring our social channels and showing a keen interest in developing this key area. The future looks bright for our social media and I am looking forward to seeing how things progress.

I understand that some fans do not wish to use social media personally and that is understandable - but there are over 12,000 people who do want to hear from Alty on Twitter so it is a hugely important channel for the club.

I don't post on here very often but wanted to give some insight, take it or leave it.

Baby grows are available, and new stock (inc baby grows and bibs) will be in the shop for next weekend but can also be ordered online of which there is a new look and new list of products getting updated on the online shop this week.

Cheers for this Gav, will definitely check it out

How's the weather anyway? Very dodgy forecast from teatime onwards

No rain at the minute, heavy not forecasted until 9pm according to the Met Office don't foresee any problems.

Is it this saturday or during the beer festival?

Just popped on to check the same thing as hadn't seen anything - thanks for clarifying Foz and hopefully see you all for a drink Saturday

Please do share our tweets about Saturday and let's get the bar rocking afterwards!

For info - FA Cup 4QR is 25 Oct & R1 is 8 Nov (hence no league games); FA Trophy R1 is 13 Dec & R2 10 Jan (also a blank league date).

V.useful, thanks

For me, it's the way we're all made to feel a part of the club. When I was a kid I was waiting for the coach to an away game outside the ground and I gave a Christmas card to Barry Butler to pass on to the team and management. John King asked him to come back out and get me and invited me into the dressing room to meet the players. It was only a small gesture, but it really made my day and those kind of things stay with you.

As I got a bit older I enjoyed socialising with the players in the bar and having great laughs with the likes of Jason Gallagher and Gary Scott. The bond between players and fans has been so strong here at times and that is something you just don't get in the Premier League.

I hope that future generations can gain the same enjoyment and feeling of belonging when they come here, because it's a very special place indeed and once it's in your heart you will never get rid of it.

Spot on with everything here, I think its the feeling of belonging and that your support really does make a difference, the family mentality of the club and supporters, the amazing work of the volunteers, the fantastic way the club is run from top to bottom.

Summed up for me on Promotion Day when I said to a long time Alty fan "I am so happy for you all" and he said "But I'm happy for you!". I realised then I was part of the family and it was an awesome feeling.

Made some great friends through Alty and had some great nights away from football with weddings/gigs etc as the Alty Family has grown larger. Looking forward to many more happy memories.

I agree, the National is a totally different prospect and the players have to make the decision that is in both theirs and the clubs best interests... even if its heartbreaking to the fans. At least those who do sign will be 100% committed to the cause and who knows who else LS has his eye on. Cruik(..sey) is right, a hugely enjoyable summer awaits and then down to business with whichever 11 that the manager and his team put together for the next level.
