Truly shocked and saddened by this new.
Graeme was a genuinely nice bloke who always had time for a chat and a laugh.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.
RIP - you will be missed

Unbelievably sad news.
Dave was always at games, home and away, and will be missed.
Thoughts with family and friends.
RIP - taken far too soon.

Altrincham FC First Team / 5 a side
« on: July 02, 2017, 08:43:54 PM »
Slightly off topic but after 25 years of driving up and down the M6 every week to watch Alty, my family are re-locating back to Cheshire next month from Worcestershire.
I have been lucky to have a group down here to play 5 a side with every week, and need my bout of weekly exercise when I relocate.
Not anything wildly competitive, we just have a group ranging from 14 to 60 years in age that play amongst ourselves.
Anyone do something similar already that I can tag on to, or anyone want to start something if we can get enough numbers?

Are kids sizes available as my 9 year old daughter would love one of them Ian?

Absolutely stunned to hear this sad news, and can't believe that I will not see Keith at Alty again.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Keith for nearly 40 years and he has been part of the fabric at our club since I first started watching.
I hope he is catching up with all the other Alty fans up there, including my dad who knew Keith well.
RIP Keith - you will be sorely missed.

Diversion is M6 on to M42. Suggest going down M5 to M42 and then M40

I live 10 miles from Worcester and I am getting ready to travel up for the game - motorway all the way!

Ste - not sure if any good for you but I am in St Albans Thursday morning, and then travelling up to Alty for the game, then back to Stratford upon Avon after the game Thursday evening. Does that help at all?

« on: August 27, 2012, 07:31:44 PM »
For anyone to suggest that this was caused by anyone other than 30 or so Chester scumbags is totally incorrect, and insulting to all of us Alty fans who don't have any fight in us really.
There was a group of Chester fans stood to the left of where I stood behind the goal which grew gradually from around 2.30pm. I told a steward but nothing happened and, by kick off, the size of the group was around 30, with others scattered around the Golf Road End (I knew the others were also Chester fans as I saw them talikng to the larger group). As soon as the match kicked off, 2-3 of these fans, stood at the back of the Golf Road End, pretended to be Alty fans charging at the larger group which is how the whole thing started. It was totally premeditated and planned. At the end of it, their steward seemed amusedby it all - their stewards were surely only at the ground to identify these idiots BEFORE anything happened?
My 11 year old son has been coming to Alty with me for 7 years, but was scared today. Also, our stewards should not have been put in the position they were today. The response time from the local police also seemed incredibly slow to me?

I do not post very often but today has prompted me to.
We will not pay a worse team than Solihull all season and yet they were first to every ball today. We were simply woeful!
Whilst we may be suffering with injuries, some of the decisions today were simply baffling. Why replace Twiss with Mulholland? Why play Reeves on the left wing? Why waste our best player Clee in the centre of midfield where he simply does not influence the game?
I am an optimist and believe there is enough time still for us to do something this season but we have to start playing our best players in their correct positions.
And we have to learn to defend - today proved that Jones was not the entire problem!

Anyone who wants rates for the hotels, or advice on which to visit, drop me a line.
The more business I can generate for the hotel group from this sponsorship, the more likely I am to be able to extend it in the future.

Forestdale Hotels is part of a larger group (35 hotels and growing) - for all hotels that are part of this new sponsor see also www.akkeronhotels.com/hotels/hotel-groups

An end of an era that I did not want to see come to an end personally.
Graham has worked wonders over the years to achieve what he has.
The word legend is used a little too often and loosely for me sometimes - it should be reserved for people like Graham, who truly deserve it.
Thanks for some great memories, and best of luck for whatever comes next.
