Altrincham FC currently sit top of the table and are pushing for promotion. This is the penultimate Saturday home fixture of the season at the J.Davidson Stadium, so we encouraging as many fans to attend as possible.

This match is a designated Dementia Awareness fixture, as Altrincham FC Community Sports Lancashire Cricket Club and Sporting Memories Network will be promoting the work they do in Trafford. Altrincham FC Community Sports regularly promote discount tickets to families and school children. For this fixture, we are encouraging children to attend with their grandparents, with the focus of the day being on sporting memories and encouraging older people to attend local sessions.

Sporting Memories
Unlock the power of sporting reminiscence to unite generations and to help tackle dementia, depression and loneliness. Sessions run throughout Trafford on a monthly basis. The Sporting Memories Foundation memory games are designed to create an opportunity for fans to recall their favourite moments from football – to help spark that memory. Whether that is of a favourite moment, player, or team, Sporting Memories want to highlight the importance of a footballing memory. The work the charity does is designed to embrace those memories and it uses sport to support people living with depression, dementia and loneliness.

By working with the clubs to create an awareness of this work on match days, Sporting Memories  wants to speak to football fans round the country if they have a family member, friend, or colleague who may want to get involved in some of the work Sporting Memories is involved in. Fans can check out some of the exciting projects and #jointhesquad by visiting www.sportingmemoriesnetwork.com

Altrincham FC First Team / Tesco Bags For Life
« on: March 07, 2018, 01:01:54 PM »
To all Altrincham FC fans and friends of the club,

If you shop at Tesco, you'll be aware that they run a 'Bags for Life' scheme, offering funding to local good causes or charity groups to help fund projects that support the local community.

We have successfully passed the initial application phase and we are eligible to receive funding from Tesco Baguley and Northern Moor shops. Three projects get funding after all the tokens are collected over March and April in these two stores, with the highest token project receiving upto £4000, second receiving upto £2000 and third receiving upto £1000. So we will receive at least £1000 to our chosen project.

As a lot of you will know, Altrincham FC Community Sports Trust is the registered charity for Altrincham FC, so all our activities are self-funded (by customers paying) or part-funded/free (part of this funded by grants). Most of our activities over recent years have been predominantly subsidised by The National league Trust to get new sessions off the ground.

We have applied for this Tesco grant to support a new project we are running at Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre. We are hoping to provide sports sessions 2-3 nights a weeks for young people, free of charge. These sessions are to be led by qualified coaching staff, representing Altrincham FC. There is Walking Football, Disability Football and Veterans Football at this site and already, there is clearly a need for youth provision. We are also planning to include holiday sports sessions and family fun days there in the near future.

So, if you happen to collect tokens from Tesco, please would you consider putting yours towards a worthy cause on behalf of Altrincham FC? If you are interested to know more, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Many Thanks,
Judy Henson

On Tuesday 2nd May, Altrincham FC held their annual Summer schools tournament at the J.Davidson Stadium. Four schools participated, with 68 children (Year 3 & 4) taking part. St Vincents, Stamford Park, Broadheath and Park Road Academy competed for the trophies, in the second year of this event.

Year 3 Finals
After two convincing wins in the semis, Stamford Park and St Vincents went head to head in the final. St Vincents continued their scoring streak with a 4-1 victory over Stamford Park. Two consecutive years, St Vincents have now taken a trophy away from our Summer competition.

Stamford Park were the victors, winning 2-1 on penalties.

Community / FA Cup comes to Altrincham
« on: May 10, 2017, 12:29:50 PM »
On Monday 8th May, we had a special visit from Premier League referee, Anthony Taylor, bringing the FA Cup along with him. Anthony has been delegated the FA Cup final in three weeks time, something which he says is a "once in a lifetime opportunity", as no referee ever gets the cup final more than once.

We offered local school the opportunity to come along and ask Anthony questions, as well as getting their photos with the cup.

We would like to thank Anthony, The FA, Getty Images, Park Road, St Vincents, Altrincham CofE and Interactive Sports for their attendance this afternoon.

Community / National League Trust Regional Finals
« on: March 29, 2017, 03:32:08 PM »
We're super proud of St Vincent's pupils for their hard work and commitment to representing Altrincham FC yesterday at the National League Trust regional primary school finals.
After winning our local tournament in February, St Vincent's spent the last five weeks with our coaches in preparation for yesterday. The winning team in the regional have the opportunity to represent the North West at Wembley in May.

Our tournament group opponents yesterday were: AFC Telford, Macclesfield Town, Stalybridge Celtic and Stockport County. Two losses, a draw and a win (against AFC rivals Macc Town) were unfortunately not enough to progress to the semi finals. In the other group, the teams were: AFC Fylde, Tranmere Rovers, Chester City, Southport and Barrow.
Telford and Stockport made the final respectively, which goes to show the level of competition we faced in our group. Our team were incredible throughout the day, displaying great team work and footballing skills.

We'd like to express a huge thank you to St Vincent's Primary School, SK Kits, Stockport County (hosts) and The National League Trust for an amazing day! Images can be found on our social media and website pages.

Community / New Kit For Oldfield Brow
« on: February 13, 2017, 02:43:10 PM »
Story and pictures at: http://www.altrinchamfccsh.com/brand-new-football-kit-for-oldfield-brow-primary/

As part of Altrincham Football Club’s ‘FA Charter Standard Community Club’ status, the club received a full junior team kit. This kit has since been donated to Oldfield Brow primary school after they recently attended Altrincham FC’s winter football tournament.

Altrincham FC Community Co-Ordinator, Judy Henson, said: “Oldfield Brow came along to our tournament in December and I noticed they had a tired looking, old style kit for their team. McDonald’s and The FA supply these free kits for teams just like Oldfield Brow, so we were thrilled the school decided to take us up on the offer. Oldfield Brow have recently just had a new building and astroturf pitch opened up on site, so we went along a took their football team for a coaching session to try out the new kit. There is definitely potential to get some of the sleeves cropped, but overall the kids loved the new strip and we are pleased to be able to help.”

Altrincham FC defender, Sam Heathcote, visited the school on Friday 27th January to carry out the training session with year 6 pupils.
