Altrincham FC First Team / FA Cup...coverage
« on: January 11, 2021, 07:51:04 PM »
How much coverage would we have got during the 10 years from our Everton encounter if they had the same FA Cup coverage then as now.

Yes, it is envy when I see teams like Marine (and good luck to them) getting so much coverage, live games and, of course, money!

I know they were very different times, but it is not just the coverage we have missed out on but the fact we get no recognition for drawing at Goodison and White Hart Lane, not to mention beating Birmingham at St Andrews.

Just think of the coverage, recognition (and money) for a team having 10 years or so in the cup that we had!

But no mention of "Cup Fever!" which was filed at Moss Lane

Altrincham FC First Team / 5 subs
« on: November 28, 2020, 10:16:29 PM »
Does anyone think, with the fixture backlog for most teams, that we need 5 subs in the national league?

Would this disadvantage us as we have played most games? Or is it even feasible with so many teams having played different amounts of games?

Hartlepool's extra day for this game proved useless!

ALTY OLD BOY
The NPL reports that former Alty loanee Ryan Shotton has signed forms for Leek Town. (John Laidlar)

Surely he can do better than that, especially as Mullarkey will be out for a while!

Altrincham FC First Team / Lockdown

Premier league will continue, but will we be able to play during the latest shambles?

Do we count as "Elite*"

*Not sure Dover do with their behaviour today!

Altrincham FC First Team / It just doesn't make sense
« on: October 30, 2020, 11:49:25 PM »
From the main site: "Following discussions between the government & the Football Association on September 29th, the FA explained that where elite and non-elite clubs are playing, only supporters of non-elite clubs will be permitted entry, and only if their club is at home."

if it was due to travelling or capacity I could understand (up to a point), but due to the level we play at just makes no sense.

Is the virus now selective about the clubs fans support?

Altrincham FC First Team / Calls for Hancock up top...
« on: October 28, 2020, 09:31:43 PM »
..which are reasonable, but what about Kosylo partnering Moult in centre mid with our current injury problems?

He seemed to do a very good job against Hartlepool and give the team a certain degree of forward momentum.

Altrincham FC First Team / Potter potters off
« on: October 28, 2020, 06:20:15 PM »
According to the interview with Parkie, like Clayton, couldn't take the drop from f/t to p/t/, which means we will most likely need to recruit from lower levels.

I was talking with a Largs Thistle (Junior League; West Of Scotland Premier) player today (they lost 1-0 after having a player sent off after 6 mins!) and they had a chap lined up to film the game....but the regs up here did not even allow that!

Said player sounded a bit peeved. I guess that they would use it for training as well as trying to get the game for their fan(s)

can't deny Sth Shields were the better team over 90 mins, but we held our nerve and had some very good performances.

Thanks Alty TV and RR
