Altrincham FC First Team / Free tickets

Back in the 80's/90's I remember getting free tickets from school to come and watch Alty.  It got me hooked, for one, and there's a few others I know of who still come.  Anyone else become a fan through tickets from school?  Is this something the club still does?  In our current excellent form, it would be a great time to get some people of school age through the gates, hopefully get (sucker) them to become lifelong Alty fans.

Not sure why I was more upset by the loss on Sunday than by many previous defeats.  Was it because it was our best chance to get a decent cup run and some money?  Was it the frustration that most people seem to disagree with Lee's formation?  Was it because of the spectacular non-showing from the players?  Was it the dreading of the inevitable "What happened to your lot?" grilling at work on Monday?

Probably a bit of everything!  However, there are always some reasons to smile:

1) We support the best team ever (that's Altrincham, for those unsure)
2) The club still seems to be run very well, from a business perspective
3) The new sports hall
4) We have Radio Robins (well done to the team - a lot of people I know are jealous we have a decent commentary service)
5) We're not in the relegation zone
6) It's nearly Christmas

For some bizarre reason, I am optimistic that we can win at Telford, and that Sunday will be, by far, the lowest point of the season.

I've listened to Radio Robins on my computer before (well done everyone behind this!), but as I'll potentially be out-and-about for playoff games (grrr...) does anyone know if I can listen to Radio Robins on my android phone?  Cheers.

Does anyone know if the rules state that shinpads have to be worn during a game?  Because FGR's captain (no. 6) blatently wasn't wearing any.  We told the linesman several times throughout the game, so wasn't sure if he should have been on the pitch or not.

Non Altrincham FC Talk / Back yard

After phoning don't know how many people to try and get my back yard dug up and flagged/patioed and wall rebuilt I'm getting frustrated - people not ringing me back, not turning up when they say, etc.  Does anyone know of someone reliable who can at least turn up to give me a quote and who'll do a decent job?

Not only could we not score penalties, finish off good chances and get our away win yesterday, but we couldn't even win on the bonus ball.  I was driving home thinking "well at least someone will get a result tonight".

Anyone know where I can get a name and number printed on the back of an Alty top?  All the main sports shops will only do England/Premiership shirts, which I though was a bit poor.
