Altrincham FC First Team / He is getting it so wrong
« on: January 11, 2022, 09:31:39 PM »
They are two levels above us but what the hell was that....

We again tried to set up to absorb the pressure like Boxing Day when we were dire.

We are just waiting to concede each game then using a ridiculous amount of energy chasing games that are too far away from us.

People moaned about PP not having a plan B, we need to get back to plan A and play our known formation.

Digie is awful.
Moult is too slow for this level.
Mooney isn't great when started.
Hancock is having an awful season.
TT can't move his feet before making any attempt to save.

Their second was shocking, we stood off 50 plus metres with no-one going near the ball. Hannigan was awful on that goal.

White never gets tight.

Really need to go back to basics. Would much rather lose giving it our best go.

The front four should be Colcough, Kossy, Pringle No.10 and Hulme.

PP always says about players taking their chance, Pringle has on several occasions but never starts??

One plus was Morgan.

A fan of PP but he needs to sort this nonsense out.

Altrincham FC First Team / FA Cup & Injury Updates
« on: October 27, 2021, 08:41:31 AM »
As everybody knows the FA Cup is financially huge for us.
Gateshead away will be very tough.
Would be nice up an update on injuries and who is ill?
I fear if we don't have TT, Mularkey and at least two of Mooney, Colclough or Kossy back then we will really struggle.

Altrincham FC First Team / Fanzone update.....
« on: August 05, 2021, 08:05:23 PM »
Any update on the Fanzone please?

Appears way off completion. Will it be built to the sketches we were shown? Would be a shame if 3 huts are just placed onto the current concrete surface.

The modern tiled floor on the design really stood out to me. I am hoping the design is adhered to.

Forgetting contracts for 5 min,  who would you keep to start, squad and release. Need a massive clear out.

Starters :-

Hannigan
Senior
Colclough
Kosylo
Smith
Hancock or Hardy

Squad :-
Zouma ( if we can )
Mooney
Hampson
Williams
Malarkey
Thompson
Densmore or Richman
Piggott
Moult

Release :-
Ceesay ( for his wage )
Peers
Sutton
Fis
White
Miller
And all other strikers we have who are older than 20 years old.

Altrincham FC First Team / Hulme and Leather
« on: February 27, 2021, 09:40:35 PM »
A lot will say no and I get it, but I've had enough of this trial and error striker nonsense.

Those two are what we really need, only for the rest of the season.

The season is already fading so let's just go for it.

Altrincham FC First Team / Torquay Match Thread
« on: January 27, 2021, 02:24:10 PM »
I know it is an early thread but football is the only thing to talk about in the current climate.

Kossy, Colclough and Mooney are just too good not to start and with Ceesay likely to be back from his illlness he can be our impact sub.

We can give Torquay a good game.

TT

Senior
Marlarkey
Hannigan
Hampson

Moult
Smith

Kossy
Colclough
Mooney

Hancock ( number 9 )

Subs - Ceesay, Sutton, White, Peers & Richman

If they have quick CM's then maybe consider Malarkey as DM with Smith and Sutton in at CB.

Altrincham FC First Team / Strikers
« on: December 27, 2020, 05:04:19 PM »
Current strikers at the club;- (unless any have been released....)
Fis
Harrison
McDonald
Salmon
Roache
Blyth
Peers

I think it was said Fis, McDonald & Harrison were on short term deals? Guessing until Jan.

With the quality of Colclough, Mooney, Ceesay, Kosylo & Hancock I would say we only need two strikers out of the above?

If Blyth delivers then I would imagine it would be him and Peers ( more as a squad/impact player ).

Predict Salmon will go back out on loan. Didn't know Roache was still here, where has he been playing?

I am guessing Fis, Harrison ( no idea why he was signed ) and McDonald will be released. Feel a tad sorry for McDonald, but we probably do need a stronger player up top.

We defo need to get 3 or 4 off the payroll.

Reads as if we have signed him on a short term deal.

Never heard of him.

Good luck Byron.

Altrincham FC First Team / Funds and ground improvements
« on: December 01, 2020, 03:44:04 PM »
Bill,

Purely out of interest and hopefully without sounding daft, are we still getting the entire agreed support funds until fans are back in?

Any news on the ground improvements? More so the FanZone please. Perfect time to get it done if the finances still allow.

TIA.

Altrincham FC First Team / Aaron Wilbraham
« on: October 10, 2020, 09:02:00 PM »
I appreciate he is on the other side of 40 but is 6ft 5, strong and can hold the ball up.

Free agent after leaving Rochdale.

Maybe a good short term option and lives down the road.

Trying to persuade his sister to get him to call the club.Would be a big character around the changing room.

Altrincham FC First Team / Support package
« on: September 30, 2020, 01:16:47 PM »
Any idea on how the government funding will be distributed between clubs?

I can only guess they will look at a club's previous year's income. This would be a disadvantage to us, as this season we would have had bigger crowds just by increased away supporters. Our income would have been much higher, so the more established National League teams will benefit.

Unless, they are distributing equally, which I very much doubt will happen. This would be very good for us.

I would be interested to know....
