Altrincham FC First Team / Question for management guru
« on: October 04, 2020, 01:04:00 PM »
Not heard that duncan watmore has a club yet.
Have we approached him?
We would be a serious shop window for him and chance to regain and prove his fitness.

Altrincham FC First Team / Do we use Wrights Pies?
« on: March 24, 2020, 11:41:48 AM »
They are putting profit before the safety of their staff customers and the nation by staying open claiming they sell an essential grocery...…..pies.....

Can the board confirm we do not and will not deal with these sort of utter sh*ts when things get back to normal.

NB anyone going to Wetherspoons when they repoen needs a serious word with themselves.

Lets remember who shafted their staff while the rest of us did our bit.

Miss PP and the boys <3

Altrincham FC First Team / Jordan Hulme.... strategy
« on: January 26, 2020, 05:36:58 PM »
With the chester disrespectful prick at it again..
Jordan deserves full time football.
So if chester make a bid and jordan wants to go..
Put him on the transfer list and let a decent outfit come in for him.

If the club rolls over for chester ill be fuming...
If i were jordan id be fuming at the chester boss using him to boost his growing ego on twitter..

Altrincham FC First Team / Portsmouth flags?

Just wondering if there were any plans to take some of the flags from the golf rd to pompey?
Be really good if the general, kenny bernard etc could be on display on a big day for alty?

Altrincham FC First Team / Haringhey V Yeovil
« on: October 21, 2019, 11:26:14 AM »
There is a video of the incident on's on the vanarama national page posted by a Yeo Glover.

It shows bottle throwing and face to face angry confrontations between the haringhey players and the Yeovil fans, the stewards actions and the ref's actions.

I think given the players reactions on both teams and their action it has to be accepted that something racist must have been said although the video does not show evidence of this nor is there any evidence of racist chanting or monkey noises.....

I think there are lessons for Alty to learn from this video...the whole situation carried and inflamed on due to

1) the fans not being moved back from the barrier
2) the ref allowing players to remain right in front of the Yeovil fans and continue arguing and shouting at each other...he should definetly have moved all the players away from the confrontation while things calmed down.
3) the ref inflamed the situation by pointing at one of the main Yeovil problem chaps by walking right up and pointing to him and shouting at the stewards to remove him....this was apparently done in retaliation to said Yeovil fan for shouting "get on with it ref you facking cant!"....he should have quietly pulled a steward over and had words in their ear.
4) Apart from a couple of Yeovil fans who appeared to help the stewards and explain who had done what there was very little self policing.

I would hope if such a confrontation happened at Alty/with Alty

1) the stewards would move the fans back away from the fence and onto the first terrace step
2) The Alty fans would self police, point out culprits and help the stewards
3) The Alty players/captain would come over as the Yeovil players did
4) If it was Alty players being abused walk away from the confrontation zone.
5) The ref would control the situation more.

It is tough for a small club like Haringhey to steward such situations, Yeovil are a club with a large fanbase and I'm sure they have run no to racism I don't think either team should be punished for the actions of a few such situations it is the bottle throwers and those guilty of racist abuse who should be punished and punished severely...I hear tweo people have been arrested for racist abuse......IMO

The game should be replayed under a kick it out theme to raise awareness and restore goodwill for both clubs....and the culprits severly punished?

Altrincham FC First Team / Chadwick signs!
« on: August 13, 2019, 02:26:35 PM »

Altrincham FC First Team / How many would Alty take?
« on: May 13, 2019, 12:53:23 PM »

Altrincham FC First Team / sheepshaggers
« on: April 28, 2019, 11:44:55 AM »
only need a point at home to 4th bottom and safe Cambridge utd to survive.

Notts County need a win away at Swindon AND a macc defeat to survive.

I'm sure we wish our Cheshire neighbours good luck....  :-\

Actually despite the derision at his appointment sol has performed a miracle to get them to this position...even though they could still go down..

apparently there is a race night and documentary premiere after the chorley match.

No excuse not to attend as you have all had plenty of notice and you'll be there anyway obviously watching the match....

Perhaps someon3e could advise if horses have all been sold to the right people and whether the plebs can donate in any way?

Altrincham FC First Team / Welcome back Gerry!

Great to have the club under new ownership......

Altrincham FC First Team / Duncan
« on: March 10, 2019, 02:35:25 PM »
Watmore scored for sunderland yesterday and was then taken off injured after a red card challenge.

hopefully he is ok and its not was his ankle so not related to his previous injuries

On a day like today when one side is just not interested in even getting the ball for a throw in a team of ball boys would maintain the teams momentum and put pressure on the opposition.
...and make us look less tinpot as a club..

Altrincham FC First Team / Is hemmings available for the trophy match?
« on: December 10, 2018, 01:19:10 PM »
Anyone know?

From John Laidlar's award winning site;

The Shropshire Star reports that "Gavin Cowan believes his AFC Telford United side were the instigators of their own downfall after slipping to a 3-1 defeat at Altrincham.
The Robins, who had won their last five in all competitions, took an 18th minute lead after John Johnston skipped past two tackles, before finding former Buck, Josh Hancock, who slotted home. Hancock sealed the win with a goal late on, after Connor Hampson's super curling free kick had got the hosts in front 16 minutes from time.

The Bucks chief believes his side had control of the game for large parts, but errors cost his team on a wet afternoon at the J Davidson Stadium. He said, 'They were difficult conditions but they were the same for both sides so there is no argument there. I think we had a couple of chances in the first half we didn't put away, but I felt we controlled the game in parts.

'We were comfortable in open play and we nullified them for the most part, but we were the instigators of our own downfall, and that is not really us. We are quite a reliable team, individually and as a team. I was frustrated because we work hard through the week on specific things, and rely on the lads going over the white line.

'We did that in the first 18 minutes and controlled the game and, then, four players have gone jumping and sliding into tackles and that is uncharacteristic.'

Daniel Udoh drew his side level after 25 minutes of the game, but apart from that the Bucks never forced goalkeeper Tony Thompson into a save.

Cowan introduced Brendon Daniels and Yusifu Ceesau from the bench late on in a bid to grab an equaliser, but the Bucks got overrun and Hancock sealed the win with his second.

The manager took the blame for the third goal, and said 'In the second half we took control again and, as staff, we were talking about when we should go for the jugular. We tried to stay in the game as long as we could, and the third goal was my fault really because I have gone gung-ho. I felt we were in control of the game for parts, but we were not threatening in our attacking phases.

Altrincham FC First Team / To any stay aways
« on: December 08, 2018, 06:54:06 PM »
These lads and this manager play for each other, play some lovely stuff and are a joy to watch.

I was determined to stay away in protest and just go to away matches last year but this team is really special and has a connection with the fans.

So come down and support them despite anything else rather than staying away to spite.

I'm sue I'm not alone in being unhappy with the chairman but love going to watch alty at the can be done

They deserve a few more than 800 cheering them on today
