Altrincham FC First Team / Ian White
« on: July 21, 2017, 02:09:51 PM »
Is anyone on the forum in contact with the White family?

I wanted to pass on my condolences on the death of their son Ian. Ian was in my class at school.  A few of us got to go with him to the Everton up game on the directors coach. Great day.
I remember Ian ('Chalky' at school of course) playing for the school first team. He was a classy centre-half (in the days before classy centre-halves) with one of the fiercest shots I ever remember seeing.

Very sorry to hear he has passed away.

Altrincham FC First Team / Next 4 games
« on: January 31, 2015, 06:03:10 PM »
Assuming there is no game next Saturday we have four very tough looking games coming up in February against 4 of the top 5 (as the table stands tonight).

How many points is it realistic to expect us to get from those?  I'd be reasonably happy with four. Six or more would be great.

Altrincham FC First Team / Great result today
« on: December 26, 2014, 05:27:13 PM »
Magnificent away win and other results went our way too.
Should have gone up a couple of places and widened the gap between us and the teams below us at the stat of the day.

Great stuff.

Altrincham FC First Team / Up to 6th
« on: October 08, 2011, 05:14:55 PM »
If I worked it out right we're up to 6th. on 19 pts.
We go above Colwyn Bay, Boston, Nuneaton and Corby. Worcester are up to 5th on 20 points.

Altrincham FC First Team / Stats for tonight's game
« on: April 20, 2010, 04:44:59 PM »
A win (and very likely a draw) tonight would make sure we finish above Salisbury in the BSP.

If the crowd is less than 800 and we get more at ML against Cambridge that they get against Kettering then we'll also be above them in the attendance league : http://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/attendances.jsp?comp=5

Altrincham FC First Team / Old boys at Stalybridge

Joe O'Neil has done well - Top scorer and fans player of the year : http://www.stalybridgeceltic.co.uk/newsdisplay.php?item=10108

Warren Peyton, Richard Battersby and Jody Banim getting regular games so presumably also doing ok in a top ten team in BSN. All these players gave their best for us but struggled to rise to the level needed in the BSP.  Good to see them doing well but it also reflects the progress we have made.
I know some people were sad to see some or all of them leave and thought they could do a job for us but we are unquestionably a better team the year.

Altrincham FC First Team / Buckets at FGR tomorrow
« on: March 26, 2010, 09:49:20 AM »
FAO anyone going tomorrow....
While we may not want to help FGR out of the financial hole they've dug for themselves there will also be a 'Help for Heroes' collection outside the ground which you may want to support.

Altrincham FC First Team / How fit will players be for next game
« on: January 06, 2010, 01:04:49 PM »
I assume they are training in some way but must be difficult to arrange sessions in this weather.

Will we be worse off than other teams - full time team or those in the south?

Altrincham FC First Team / October games
« on: September 29, 2009, 11:56:52 PM »
We have 4 tough looking games coming up but the team should be full of confidence and I don't see why we can't pick up points.
I'd settle for three points from the four games as long as it's from three draws (ie only one defeat).

Altrincham FC First Team / Injuries / Squad
« on: September 21, 2009, 10:14:50 PM »
Anyone got any news on the injuries?
Have we got enough players to put out a full side including subs bearing in mind that Rod Thornley was names on the bench on Saturday even though he wasn't at the game!?
