Altrincham FC First Team / The only way is up 👆
« on: October 17, 2020, 04:53:11 PM »
As I type, we're now bottom of the league.
We've got games in hand and 41 games to go.
I really fancy us to surprise a few people this season (in a positive way 😉)

Come on you Super Robins!

Altrincham FC First Team / Reserves and other Alty teams
« on: October 09, 2020, 09:06:26 AM »
The Alty Files and the main site don't seem to be reporting on matches played by other sides representing the club like they used to.
Is there a reason for this?
For example there has been no mention of the opening league victory in the Cheshire league, nor mention of the build up games of the reserves, ladies or youth.
I know they're probably on twitter or Facebook or something but I don't do those.
Seems a shame really.

Altrincham FC First Team / Saughall Robin update
« on: August 21, 2020, 03:58:37 PM »
In a posh hotel in Harrogate for a couple of days to celebrate my birthday 🎂. Apologies in advance for any inebriated ramblings over the weekend as I make merry! Mrs Saughall may confiscate my mobile at some point anyway!!

Sincere thanks to all at the club for making this year extra memorable!! 😉

Altrincham FC First Team / New Kit
« on: August 16, 2020, 02:33:22 PM »
What does everyone think?

Although I respect the reasoning behind it, I'm afraid I'm gutted the stripes have gone.

Think that's the first time I've disliked ALL our kits 😲

Won't stop me supporting the Super Robins but, for once I certainly won't be getting a shirt. 🙄

PS : I loved our current one! 😢

Altrincham FC First Team / This FA money
« on: June 30, 2020, 07:02:36 PM »
This 200,000 from the FA to help fund the NL play offs. Is it just for the National or does it include the North and South?

Altrincham FC First Team / Chester forum

Just seen a post saying that we planned to pay the squad a big bonus and a trip to Las Vegas if we got promoted. I wasn't aware of that. Have I missed something?

Altrincham FC First Team / Dear PP and the Lads
« on: March 02, 2019, 09:42:48 PM »
As a long-standing supporter of the Robins (54 years and counting!) Could I just thank you from the bottom of my heart for today's performance. Living about 4 miles from Chester's ground in a small village riddled with Chester fans, the 'double' over the local team this season is making my trips to the pubs hereabouts immensely more pleasant as they all know I'm an Alty fan and love it when we lose. I've now got the bragging rights for the rest of the season!!

Come on you Super Robins!

Altrincham FC First Team / Rushall Game
« on: October 08, 2017, 04:13:11 PM »
Brought the hubby of Mrs Saughall's best friend along yesterday. They're visiting from Denver USA and he'd never been to a 'Socca' game.  ::)
He was very impressed with the game and the support (we were both amazed at the Gate when the main stand was pretty full on its own!)
He was even more impressed to get a bottle of Budweiser in the club  :D

From my point of view, it makes a nice change to be able to bowl up and feel fairly confident of getting a result rather than, as in the last two years, watching games between my fingers with hands in front of eyes!
Well done to the lads and to Phil Parkinson ... you're making an old man very happy!  :D ;D ;D

Altrincham FC First Team / Daily Mirror
« on: December 27, 2014, 04:54:31 PM »
Now I know we're only a little part-time tin-pot club in the north west but even I was surprised at how utterly we'd been ignored by this august publication.
Was sat in Costas this morning after doing a tip run to the Bumpers Lane tip (Right opposite the Swansway Stadium, ironically enough!) and picked up the Mirror from the rack. Looked through the Football pull-out and checked the Conference table. After a puzzled pause, I realised there were only 23 teams in it!
Have we been expelled and I've not heard?  :o :o ::) ::) :D :D

Altrincham FC First Team / Benefits of living near Chester ...

First back on the site after the game!

Jingle all the way everyone  :D :D :D :D

Loved sitting in the home section (especially only semi-anonymously  ;D)

Altrincham FC First Team / Happy Christmas ...
« on: December 24, 2014, 09:55:58 PM »
... to everyone out there of an Alty disposition.
Let's all hope we've got something to really cheer over the Christmas holidays.

Altrincham FC First Team / Ressies

Just out of interest, does anyone happen to know how many promotion places there are in their league? I'm guessing two but haven't a clue really.  ???
