Altrincham FC First Team / Phil Parkinson on Radio Alty
« on: February 07, 2022, 03:37:14 PM »
Hello all,
Phil Parkinson is in the Radio Alty studio 10-12 tomorrow.
Any questions will be read out.
I'm specifically interested in your thoughts of the weekends result. Are you delighted with the point, relieved we didn't lose or still frustrated looking for the elusive win ?
Thoughts on the current squad makeup - satisfied/too many loan players/not enough home grown talent coming through ?
Assuming we stay up your thoughts for next season and if you consider going full time is the right decision.
Anything you want to ask regarding this season will put out there.
Cheers.

Altrincham FC First Team / Altrincham Town

just been listening to Imagine FM ' Serving half a million people throughout Cheshire'. Their report informed us that Altrincham Town beat Oxford City last night. I have read this type of lazy journalism in 2 papers in the past. Where are they getting their information from ? Starting to get on my knockers now.

Altrincham FC First Team / Ignore Him - He's harmless
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:04:55 PM »
Don't worry about VofD telling you all to Fu@k Off. He sits behind me in the main stand bellyaching his way through a whole match - When he's not there I think I've gone bleedin' deaf - Once he kept chucking his guts up through a match and between every breath shouted ' Bloody Rubbish !' I do love him really but  the whole stand is full of nutters - Her in front of me who is stuck on repeat ' Get back in yer box' and ' Get up yer big tart '. I also sit in front of Brian Flyn in the press box who has appalling wind (from both ends ) but that will wait for another day. Then I go into the bar at half time for some solace and read 'The Daily Telegraph' and some lunatic comes up to me and tells me that 'I have a fine pair of tits ' on me. I don't know this person and I am male. Back to the main stand for the second half and it's peeing down, cold and miserable.  I could go on about this dysfunctional establishment that I call home and seemingly complain. I don't.....because I love it ( even though we lost ) .

Altrincham FC First Team / right, ok this is what we do...
« on: April 09, 2012, 09:12:31 PM »
well sinnot we havent given him much of a chance as we have only given him a season, of course i want Grahame back he was brilliant, but first of all we've got to start on the team. Attack is generally good maybe sign another striker to replace twiss, we need a strong holding midfield player asap as thats where we lose the ball most, nicky clee not been that impressed with him this season but keep him, get rid of the whole of the defence and make the communication better between them and coburn as we have only kept 3 clean sheets all season! thats a shocker

Altrincham FC First Team / Promotions????
« on: August 02, 2011, 09:55:58 PM »
well we have had some good pre-season friendly results and got a good all round team. So i know its quite early and that but who do we think is going to go up. MY bet is either us or FC Halifax. Cant see anyone else really because we have got some great young players and Sinnot looks like a proper manager???

Altrincham FC First Team / A Young Gazelle
« on: June 12, 2011, 12:51:56 PM »
The attached photo recreates the one and only moment that the young Gazelle got his hand in his pocket and brought a round.
The celebrations were legendary during the famous 1980 party held in his honor.
I do not remember why he has his hand down the front of my pants but a caption competition may be in order.

Altrincham FC First Team / I hope this isn't true.
« on: September 15, 2010, 03:41:20 PM »
From a very reliable source who has never let me down in the past....Graham Heathcote had a row with Geoff Goodwin on Friday. Graham said that the club did not need him and could function without him so he resigned. So I don't get sued straight away these are allegations at this stage and it may be an idea if the club could refute this or substantiate this sequence of events.

Altrincham FC First Team / Pissed Off In California
« on: August 13, 2010, 02:28:15 AM »
Going to miss first two Alty games. Currently posting this next to a pool in San Diego which is all very well but I have been here for three weeks now and I yearn for the opening games of each season. I managed to put the whole family on an earlier flight back form skiing in March at an additional cost of £200 for some rubbish home game which I have already forgotten about,  but I don' think it will wear with the Missus this time. Oh well I will have to keep up to date with Corner Flags texts. Enjoy - You lucky people.

Imagine my shock when awaking from my slumbers.  I saw the ' HALIBORANGE ' advert on GMTV . What strip was the child wearing ? Man Utd, City or Bolton....No it is Alty !

When we travelled to Luton their programme referred to us as Altrincham Town and now the Times newspaper refer to us in the same mind boggling stupid manner. Why ? Step forward www.football.co.uk where many lazy hacks no doubt get their information from. I have sent them an email to set the matter straight but has anyone any ideas as to how this got there in the first place as I cannot find this reference to us on any other site, journal or book.

Altrincham FC First Team / Bin Sticker - A profound apology
« on: June 30, 2009, 08:37:27 AM »
I would like to put in writing how sorry I am for my outburst regarding Rocky Robins bin sticker. I had just had a bad day. Unfortunately I had stood on my pet tortoise and then been presented with a 100 quid vets bill. There was no need to take my frustration and anger out on Rocky Robin and I pray for forgiveness from him.

Altrincham FC First Team / Cambridgeshire Police estimate 8000
« on: April 21, 2009, 09:24:14 AM »
Have spoken to a pal who works for Cambridgeshire Police who are estimating a crowd of around 8000 for Alty's visit. This has also been confirmed when I went to book my coach travel yesterday at the club. If Burton loose and they beat us with a hat full of goals then they go up so a big crowd is on the cards. This seems a massive estimate and I personally think a crowd of around 4000 is more realistic. If the crowd was 8000 would this be Alty's biggest league crowd of all time ?

Graham Heathcote has been nominated as one of the most honourable men in football on 5 live ( 0720 Hours Thurs ). This was because  he  has undertaken  just about every job at the club during his career. Did you phone 5 live with this nomination ? Good nomination if that was you but quite an interesting point for debate.

Altrincham FC First Team / Weymouth takeover confirmed
« on: March 17, 2009, 01:43:03 PM »
From BBC South today

Takeover confirmed
After a tense day,in which a few last minute hitches arose, I can tell you the following:
Gary Calder and Mark Golsby have resigned from the board, and relinquished their interest in Make it so Ltd. Cary Calder has also resigned as CEO

Shaun Hennessy and I have been appointed to the board.

We will be holding a press only Press conference at 2.30 PM on Wednesday at the Stadium, at which the full new board will be revealed.

There will then be a fans forum, again at the Wessex, at 7pm that night.

WE would have liked to do this sooner, but for organisational reasons this is impossible.

There are now two big priorities.

1. Come tomorrow and bring a friend, to the match
2. Buy as many shares as you can

WE are confident the club will survive, but money is going to be very tight for some time. Everyone needs to pull in the same direction.

Looks like we played them at the right time!
