Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Woking Match Thread

Off the bits I saw due to the stream issue and the commentary I heard in the absence if pictures, I was very impressed by Zouma, impressed by Ogle and, I'm afraid somewhat underwhelmed by the striker.
Too often he gave it away or ran down blind alleys with it and on occasion declined clear shooting opportunities.

Assuming he plays next Tuesday and the gremlins leave us alone I will be happy to revise my opinions
Heís a boy that a higher league club saw enough to invest in from two leagues below this. He needs confidence and support right now.

Leytonstone & Ilford?

Not overjoyed to dishing out money to FCUM tbh but if it gets the game on fair enough.
Well itís nice to be handing out a little charity to lesser smaller clubs in these trying times

Itís impossible to compare. The great team of the 70s/80s would have ended with 5 on the pitch under todayís rules, the current team wouldnít last 10 minutes under 70s/80s rules.

I wonít be giving Barnet any of my money mainly based on the way they treated some of our fans last time we played there. Horrible club.

I agree that ppg is the only way to see how the season is really going, however you have to keep in mind that when other teams play the games to catch up they canít both win.

Multiple substitutions are just another way for the wealthier clubs to gain an advantage, whether in the Premier or National

My lasting memory of JJ will be away to Chester two seasons ago. The game started quite tight and they tried to press us, but when they did an early ball over the top set JJ away several times. As the game progressed they had to defend deeper and deeper because they couldnít deal with the pace we had on the wings, which meant there was space for others to play.
It seems clear to me that teams are pressing us early to stop us playing and we could do with that electric pace to break the press. Hopefully Ceesay can do it but JJ wouldnít be the worst option.

Anyone want to summarise this?, I really donít want to listen

Someone who is proven

On another point, here's what got Alty relegated, as I see it:

2016/17 - caving in to short termists who wanted a new manager when a new appointment failed to stop the rot in his first month or two.

Go on mate, enlighten me, which manager wasnít given enough time? Young, Harvey or Doughty?

No because a fit Hancock starts, and I doubt Tom Peers is anybodyís first choice.
Heís taking the opportunity to try something else at 10 and also options to cover the absence of Mooney.

It'll probably come down to which option is less litigious. At the moment, I'd say null and void.

This has been my thought all along.
The Premier League will relegate nobody because doing so will open them to serious litigation from very rich clubs. It follows then that there will be no promotion either from the Championship, and so on down the leagues.
The only case where this might not happen is that Bury are already gone and League 2 will be one short - I think Barrow probably deserve it but it will be interesting to see what the FA/National League do.
If that happened it would leave one spot up to the National and actually on ppg it would be Wealdstone not KL, however I canít imagine KLs erm Ďcontroversialí chairman taking it with good grace. Perhaps a pre season playoff between the two.

When did we become such a nation of snowflakes ? One case in North Yorkshire (population over 600,000). You've got more chance of being mowed down by an ambulance FFS.
Oh do f**k off
When itís you losing members of your family we will revisit this. By the way have you got enough toilet roll? Snowflake.

Schools are not shut so i dont see how shutting down non-league games makes a difference, it feels like gesture politics.  if the science is against school closures it should also point to this being a waste of time,  I realise that this is a significant issue, but not sure the average non league crowd is much different to going to the pub on a friday night

Quite the opposite really, the football authorities are taking action because the government has decided not to, that the economy is more important than peopleís lives. All public gatherings should be stopped now
