Altrincham FC First Team / Twitter inbox
« on: April 14, 2023, 08:13:15 PM »
I received this inbox on Twitter last week. Can anyone help?

 Hi Jonathan,

My name is Krystian Juźwiak, I'm a sports journalist from Poland, co-operate with @sport_tvppl. I found family of Konrad Kepler and want to make an article about Kon. As far as I know, Konrad Kepler is a legend at Altrincham FC. Do you know the details of his game at Altrincham and could you tell me about him?

I seem to remember many of Altys players that we sell on go for an undisclosed fee. What is the reason or purpose of an undisclosed fee? Who if anyone does it benefit?

Both clubs. For us if everyone suddenly knows we’ve banked x amount of money then come knocking for players, as that club you’re going to inflate the price knowing we’ve got the cash.

It's certainly the first time I've heard this sort of thing happening outside of Sunday League football.

Not sure there's any other option than to sack the alleged assailant - but then again, as previously mentioned we don't know all the facts.

Apart from George Shepherd getting leathered by Bishop Auckland in the Chequers car park?

For anyone that was on the delayed ferry back, you can claim a refund by emailing iom.reservations@steam-packet.com

I'd like to see Conn-Clarke back on a long term loan, I was impressed by his limited game time before the unlucky injury at King's Lynn.

Yes. Him and the other lad Baggley were decent. Perhaps now we are full time fleetwood would be more willing

We’re in the process of recruiting someone for social media. At the moment Gibran is covering most of the social media and website and he’s hours behind living in Arizona for the time being. There’s quite clearly a gap since Ed stepped down. As with most things pre season I’m sure it’ll get ironed out come the start of the season.

Saturday morning ferry from Liverpool returning Sunday. Staying on the prom not far from the ferry. Me, wife and youngest going. Looking like a nice weekend.

It would be really great if this part of the website could be completed. Currently it says 'We are in the process of updating our squads for the 22/23 season.' Anyone know when this will happen, please?

It’s July. It’s pre season. Trialists have played ONE game. How can they website be updated accordingly? Team photo on July 28th. I’d imagine everything will be pretty much sorted by then.

For sheer anti-climax, the 5-0 defeat at Kidderminster in the FA Trophy Quarter Final in 1995 takes some beating.

Yes, that’s a good shout. Utterly woeful that day and outclassed by a superior Kiddy team.

Love this thread . We must be playing well again and need something new to moan about 😆😆

What about the stoppers?

I always thought a weekly summary piece that ties the results of the Academy, Youth, Reserves and Ladies sides into one place would have been a good way to get all information onto the site regularly. A quick comment from the relevant manager alongside the result would be nice, too.

Decent idea that

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: ground safety work
« on: November 22, 2021, 08:41:53 AM »
Maybe I'm being naive, but it reads to me like a complaint from a disgruntled neighbour to the ground.

Sometimes people want to ignore the most obvious answer. And let's face it, the work needs doing.

I think you are being extremely naive, which is ironic given how quick you are to pick up on what you perceive as naivety in others.

Why on earth would a disgruntled neighbour complain about the state of the terracing on the Golf Rd? How would they even know about it? The statement from the board makes it perfectly clear that the complaint came from someone they hoped would have come to them first. That would hardly apply to a disgruntled neighbour.

When have I suggested naivety in others? Genuine question if you think I've been a bit unreasonable in the past, I'm always happy to hold my hand up.

For me, the statement ('wish they'd come to us first') doesn't sound like an insider with an axe to grind - it reads like someone that's turned up to a game and then complained - we all have members within our friend and family circles that are only happy when moaning.

I don't sign up to this 'inside knowledge' either - any visit from a member of the council with two funtional eyes would have identified the ground is a mess.

Re: signed off fine at the start of the season - responding to a complaint means you have to be shown to be doing something, not a routine inspection. Of course the outcome would be different.

Sorry for being the voice of reason and I'll be sad to see that it's an inside job if I am indeed wrong.

Somebody spots something wrong and notifies the council / whomever.

Council confirms safety work needs doing, thus confirming that we Alty fans were in an unacceptable level of danger.

Whomever spotted the defects and started the repair works, I thank you. You did the right thing whether we like it or not.

You’re  in danger at every possible time in your life.

At home? Gas explosion
In the car? Car accident
Walking down the road? Hit by an asteroid

If you think some wonky walls, loose concrete and non running water to the new fan zone is “totally unacceptable” I’d suggest burying your head under a rock forever

New club every 6 months.

Can’t recall anything of note when we played Ashton pre season.

Great game full of incident, Keith Russell got a brace and Danny Adams got sent off (we don't make it easy). Great to see Bernard bring the trophy over to the fans.

What happend to Keith Russell ?

Liked pop unfortunately

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Season tickets
« on: September 03, 2021, 08:28:42 PM »
Can I suggest the club updates the photo on the tickets page on the website. Showing turnstiles displaying £14 admission prices is a bit out of date when it is now £17.

Also can I suggest that "Tickets" is a headline link rather than hiding behind the "Club" link?

Yeh, and while we’re at it I can’t believe no one has taken down the Farsley poster.

It’s just a club stock image. Prices are all clearly available to see on the website

Can only be so many links on the drop down menu main page. I asked Rob to consider putting news back on there a few weeks ago and found this out. Match day updates with links to tickets are posted very often via social media, I’d think most traffic regarding tickets comes via there
