The bucket collection held by Trafford Veterans CIC raised a fantastic £404.47, this will go towards helping Veterans and their families in the local area who fall on hard times.
Huge thank you to all from both clubs that donated.

Sounds rather bizarre. How does a supporter presumably behind the pitch barrier manage to access a keepers bottle never mind manage to pi55 in it?
The bottle was a like for like replacement photo's on twitter

Got to my first game in nearly 4 years yesterday.  Really nice to be back.  As far as the game goes as has been stated earlier it looked like a game between 2 struggling sides.  I think the sending off gave us more space to settle and try and play our game a bit.  Their keeper kept them in it second half.   Anyway it was a win.  Other observations, decent crowd, respect to the Aldershot fans.  The Popular Side looks so tired and dilapidated.  The sooner we can find some investment for the ground it has to be first to go!  Good to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.   One last thing, Parky has got us here and must be allowed the time and patience to get the job done.
good post but what is our game at the moment ? We can't  rely on having an extra man every game and even with 1 extra for 50 minutes we still only won 1 nil

We need reinforcements and quickly and not old players who didn't perform last time

As for the ground i agree to have to walk all the way from the pop side near chequers to the watmore lounge for a wee is embarrassing for 19 quid

You could throw a million at moss lane and it would not scratch the sides

I’ve said it before but the last time the spectating facilities (so I don’t mean the CSH obviously) were significantly improved was the mid 1990s when the middle of the Pop Side was extended and the then Family Stand was built. Since then in 25 years of the Berman/Goodwin/Rowley and now the current regime the ground has gradually gone backwards. Obviously with us having just gone FT and with the training ground hire I doubt we have the cash to do anything in the immediate future but we really need a lucrative cup run or something to begin to modernise it.

A couple of years ago a new pitch perimeter fence was installed

Why the old (very) former snack bar is still standing on the pop side god only knows , it's another eyesore and should have gone donkeys yonks ago ( and made a bit of room for a few more fans ! ) .

It is now used as the stewards hut where they sign in and equipment issued

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: My thanks to the club - Great Idea!!
« on: February 27, 2022, 08:10:16 PM »
Hi All,

Today, I wish to thank the club for their new initiative that took place today. They got together a group of about 20 children, two of which were our looked-after daughters, plus a couple of the girls friends from the football team members included. They formed a flag-waving guard of honour to welcome all the players on to the pitch as the teams came out before the game. The girls were delighted to be asked, though one of them was still in her football kit from her game this morning. They drew 2-2 by the way, in a Derby match between the Altrincham FC Red Kites and the Black Kites, both teams are now in the top 3 in their football league. They also greeted the players as they came off the pitch at the end of the game, as they usually do.

The girls have had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, helped greatly by the win today. There again we all did didn't we!!

My grateful thanks to the club for the new initiative, never seen that before but what a superb idea. Kids are the future of our club.

I trust the linesman at the Popular side is ok, after his collision with the Daggers player?

Plenty ofphoto's on the clubs Facebook page Steve

Presumably, this signifies that Trafford Council may have been persuaded to increase the capacity for this fixture?

That will pay the Steward Bill  :)

If you don't want to be searched what do you have to hide ? Tins of Alcohol etc
Most places now have search procedures in place especially Manchester. Is everyone forgetting there
was a bomb attack 4 years ago.

Having worked in several stadiums over the years since leaving as Safety Officer in 2011 the J Davidson Stadium is one of the hardest to steward, No CCTV , no separate entry into different stands from outside etc,
I said when we got promoted after they started the two down from the league the stewarding should have gone more professional then due to some big clubs coming down, York, Grimsby and Wrexham but we just mainly used Volunteer stewards and depending on police information if we needed to get extra or even a police presence .
Its always been a hard role for someone to do as a Volunteer safety officer i regular used clock up 30/40 hours with matches including hosted MUFC reserves games most weeks and had first Anti Glazier protest at one of them. Risk assessments to TBC and GMP plus liaising with other clubs.
We had stewards trained to NVQ 2 and 3 in spectator safety (probably more watch the games than steward them that hold this qualification)
Myself i even completed the NVQ level 4 Spectator safety management the highest you can get,
I will gladly help the club any way i can and have been in regular contact with Bill.
