Colwyn bay nice day in Llandudno brackley cracking pub in Banbury had nice weekend in Cambridge for Histon although they went down anyway and Harrogate always nice so a few good days out but it's great to be up

What was the cracking pub in Banbury, out of interest? Used to live there and most pubs were sh*t. The White Horse was an honourable exception. And the Bell Inn near the station had a good rep for beer but was frequented by weird inbreds.

I think we'll nick a draw. Reevesy to grab an equaliser in a 1-1. Hopefully about 150 Alty there for the first game of the season.

I'll be there, possibly with the missus. Hopefully there'll be a decent away turnout.

I suspect we'll have one up front more often than people think this season.

Pardon my ignorance, but who on earth is he?

One of the mob who bet against his own team when playing for Stanley.

I hate to be negative but I am a bit disappointed we've signed him.

Ridiculously short odds for pretty much every team.

The teams down from the League never win the division. Christ knows why they aways start favourites. The bookies should make the odds longer and encourage a few idiots to take the punt.

I really think County fans missed a trick not starting their own AFC type venture following relegation.

I know some people have a bit of an aversion to phoenix clubs, and they're entitled to that opinion, but that club is sinking further and further into the sh*t due to woeful mismanagement at board level. The fans own a club's history. I can't help but feel if there was any way they could have gone it alone they should have.

Midtable in that sh*te regional league when you're pulling in 3,000 fans regularly is truly diabolical.

Guiseley are all but there now.

Good result for us tonight. Slight favourites now.

Comes across as Bitter.

Delighted that we've finally got him. Read he was captain at Hyde. Always good to have a conf north winner and leader in the sqaud

Didn't think they were particularly bitter comments. Essentially they seem to agree that he was very good in the promotion season and also important the year they stayed up, but hasn't played well this season. A couple of them proffer the idea his morale might be shot playing in such a dreadful team this season, which seems a reasonable explanation.

Anyway, we needed a player and we've got one. You never know, this terrible season in which we're languishing down in 4th - 4 points behind the leaders with a game in hand - might not be over after all  :o :o :o

Great that he's doing well.

Please say there's a windfall waiting for us when he gets a first team game.

You allow teams, through their managers, a set number of opportunities to have plays reviewed where they feel they have not been rightly done by. This would work better in higher leagues, I do confess, where you could perhaps have a staff member on the bench watching the action on a screen; he/she could then advise the manager quickly on whether it is worth it.

You wouldn't need a single degree of new technology. Cameras are everywhere, anyway. I just see it as an easy way of using them to create a fairer game.

Referees would still have complete autonomy over the game. The vast majority of their decisions would be treated as we see now.

But then a striker is through on goal and dives in the box. The referee gives a penalty. The time it takes for the penalty to get set up is enough for a manager to issue a challenge. It gets reviewed in under a minute. It gets changed/it stands the same based on further analysis. The opposing team get the ball back in some form/the penalty goes ahead. The game carries on.

I'm basing most of my argument on how much I watch the NFL, because I really do believe their three challenge system could be implemented in some way into football. I'm not suggesting time outs and a new 'play-by-play' stop-start version of football, I too love the fast paced manner of the game, who doesn't?

Nah. Wouldn't work. The first time a team was on the end of a shocking decision having already used their three challenges you'd get people all over it like flies on sh*t. You'd have complaints about "we've got the technology - why can't we get every decision right?".

If that argument won out you'd have the game completely ruined with endless reviews. If it didn't, we're in exactly the same situation we see now where occasionally you'll feel sick as a dog after the ref makes a mistake. So what's the bloody point?

Refs make mistakes. Let's just deal with it for Christ's sake. People take things far too seriously.

f**k video technology. It would absolutely ruin the game. It might have some use in stop-start games like rugby league and cricket (and even there they're tying themselves in knots with many claiming technology is having a negative impact). But in football it would destroy the flow of things.

Can't we all just accept a ref is likely to make a bad call in much the same way a striker might take the occasional air-shot rather than whining on like big babies?

I concur. I liked Dale when he was with us. One of the few players I thought had the talent (if not the application) to play FL while we were fighting it out in the Conference. But he's far, far too inconsistent. If we want to win this division we need someone who's going to have 3 good games out of 4. Not 1 great game out of 6.

Big game on Saturday and a chance for management and players chance to ease the pain of the Trafford debacle.

Hope everyone who can makes the journey and lets get behind them
We are overdue a run in this competition.

Wealdstone made the semis a couple of seasons back. Very few of the Conference teams give a toss until the S/F. If we sign some reinforcements to guard against injuries/fatigue, we could go far in this.
