Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Sutton Match Thread
« on: April 17, 2021, 07:02:21 PM »

Utterly outclassed from start to finish.

Hartlepool's 7-2 victory at Wealdstone earlier today appeared to have really fired up Sutton and they demonstrated that it is possible both to retain possession and then mix things up with a more direct approach when necessary.

Our current attacking threat is about as potent as David Cameron's repeated attempts at lobbying.

Three games without a goal now and the only one that we have scored in our last four fixtures comprised that fluky corner at Maidenhead.

The only hope is that such a mortifying capitulation will convince Parkinson that some of these players are simply not up to the required standard and prompt a rethink. Williams was particularly inept and I continue to be perplexed by all the hype from the club that greeted the signing of Piggott.

That victory at Torquay United seems like it happened a lifetime ago.

We would be better off signing Lester Piggott.

Who are the usual suspects stood in front of the watmore lounge?

A very valid point.

Just who are those characters?

Perhaps Management Guru could enlighten us.

Not sure Peers was the worst player in a yellow shirt, hard to say who was as most of them had very poor games.
First half was scrappy but the second half was dreadful. Could barely pass the ball at all so lots of feeble clearances came coming straight back at us. The worst we've played since October.

But consistently has been the worst player on the pitch when starting games.

An overnight stay to start Tom Peers, I won't be watching another away stream when we choose to start Peers.

Happy for him to play off the bench.

Ok we get it. You donít rate Tom Peers. We forumites do not require you to remind us every week ffs

Forums are about opinions

My last post about Peers was Peers fine for the bench.

If the manager choose to handicap us by starting our 3rd choice striker (based on starts in the last two months - Cisse Harrison both started more than him) I'm entitled to state he isn't fit to start. He's provided better performances off the bench.

Did you watch then.

I thought that Chesterfield were mediocre, at best, and it's deeply frustrating not to have attained at least a point from that game, particularly in view of Piggott squandering that opportunity from the penalty spot.

Poor goal to concede - both Peers and Mullarkey were not strong enough with their respective challenges.

Kosylo and Ceesay were lively but lacked support from the peripheral and inconsequential figures of Harrison and Peers.

We really cannot afford to keep on carrying passengers at this level.

Total DUFFERS the pair of them. Why can't Parky see that.
