I thought non league day was supposed to be a chance to attend a few games for a nominal fee with kick off times staggered to make this possible.

The club are making 2000 tickets available to local schools (adult £5 + child free) so assuming there are 2000 kids who want to go to the game it should be a full house. If 100 walk out nobody will notice.

Heard of  - Ospina Walcott  Oxlade-Chamberlain Monreal Sánchez
Never heard of  - Pérez  Mustafi  Holding  Reine-Adelaide Maitland-Niles
Vaguely know the name - Elneny Xhaka  Gabriel   Iwobi

I have no interest in the premier league but my point is only about three of these are regular first team players. In the 70's when giant killing was at it's peak the best teams didn't treat the competition as a waste of time. They played their best players.

I don't think a real giant killing is possible now. Most teams play reserves and squad players. I have never heard of most of the Arsenal team that beat Sutton.

Automatic promotion to the league has caused a lot of problems. For the first few seasons it was a good thing, but now there are so many former league clubs all with more money and more support than clubs like Altrincham. It is getting harder to compete.

The website was great a few years ago. Then someone decided to destroy it.

It could be worse. Former rivals Enfield are playing in the Essex senior league where the crowd are often outnumbered by the players.

I think Yeovil beating Sunderland is probably the biggest giantkilling. But i loved it when Colchester beat Leeds.

I lived in London for 45 years and i never met an Orient supporter.

In the 70's players would often drink before and after a game. Millwall captain Barry Kitchener owned a pub in the Old Kent road. On a Saturday morning half the team were in there with the fans having breakfast and picking horses for the ITV 7. Nobody was drinking tea.

Baldrick, don't you have a cunning plan?  Cheesy

The best i can think of is put all the clubs money on Just a Par to win the Grand National and start a rumour that Frank Lampard will be joining the club as player manager.

Next season will decide the future of the club. Promotion at the first attempt will bring back some pride and give everyone a much needed lift in morale. Failure to be promoted will cause major problems, it will be almost impossible to lure players of any quality and admission prices will have to be cut in half. No players and no money will mean no future.

It might not be all doom and gloom next season. The famous Lancaster City are on the way up so a visit to the Giant Axe will be a good day out. I went there a few years ago when i noticed they had minus three points and hadn't won a game for as long as anyone could remember. I had a great day there. I just wish i could remember it.

A pub that opens at 5pm and has a no swearing policy. I'm surprised they are still in business.

The result should have stood. Remember Derby v Fulham a few years ago?
