It is actually BT that host the draw, the BBC simply broadcasts it.  They were at Chorley.
Mind you, you will have even less chance of a refund from BT...

Good luck for the rest of the season.  Smiley

JJ and Pooley are two top players, sad to see them go from Salford now we are going full time.
Excellent signings for Alty.  Glad they found a home with you.

JJ in particular is the style of player you will love, leaves it all on the field and runs for fun, very fast.  Came back to his best form at the end of this season gone.

Pooley is cultured and intelligent striker, good team player and passer too.  Only gripe with him is gets knocked off the ball too easily by brutish defenders.  Otherwise, superb.

If he is still available, I would look at signing Craig King too, assuming he is not staying at Salford, great midfielder.

That's your prerogative.  Smiley

Tell you what I don't believe, that Rowley will step down.  He's playing you all...

I was quite happy to support Alty at the wrong end of the Conference, and still would be if things had been different, shame really...
Hope Parkinson sorts you out and the mystery investor comes good.

And there's me calling this a great forum!...

As I have a passing interest in Alty (after supporting them for a number of years) and have attended a few games this season, I don't see why I shouldn't post, if I feel like it.
I'm not the one that ruined your club and made people like me go elsewhere.  He's still in charge.

Sorry, correction, the Class of 92 did live nearer Moss Lane than Moor Lane, as you rightly point out they have all moved out.  Wonder why?  Wink

Totally agree, the documentary is cringe worthy.  The last one focused more on a bench warmers cheese shop than anything else, so can't really see the point of it.  It feels like a mikey take to me.  Probably more interesting than an Alty documentary though, Rowley's sponsored walk would have been gripping!

Also agree about leadership and penalties, I think Salford's Glue League managers, Bernard and Jonno have gone as far as they can and need replacing with an ex-league manager.

Glad to see Jordan is doing well too.

I have to smile about Gary though...  He is the one who everyone hates, away fans always sing about his masturbation habits.  The only other one who gets any stick is Ryan, for obvious reasons.

The others get off Scott free.

Go and post on their message board then.

I do, but it's not a patch on the Alty forum, you guys should be very proud of this website.  🙂
The considered views, deep knowledge and strength of feeling on here is second to none.

Living proof that money helps but it's not the only requirement for success

The only club that overspent in NLN this season finished top by some margin, so your proof is somewhat lacking.
Are you suggesting you don't want any investment in Alty next season then, if money in football is a dirty word?

Also, has it ever crossed the minds of any Alty fans that as all the Class of 92 live much nearer Moss Lane than Moor Lane, if Rowley didn't want to run a Pub Club, he may well have been able to attract them to invest in Alty  rather than Salford, a few years back?  You might have been in much less of a mess than is the case now.   A long shot maybe, but now we will never know.

Will be looking forward to another season in the Conference North as FC Halifax Town overcome Salford in their play off semi final. As a true aficionado of value for money grassroots football I'm sure he's really looking forward to it.

Whereas you will be looking forward to pub football against miners welfare teams.  I expect Gary will be very happy with that choice.  Are you happy with yours? 🤣🤣🤣

As for value for money, 7 to get in at Salford this season was quite good value for my money, thank you.

Perhaps MD is not being very gracious about being let go as he was probably previously promised the job by GR?
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Also, I do think the rejection of MD and RL as your new management is rather harsh, as they inherited absolute garbage, what results did you all expect them to get with garbage?

New managers with no previous affiliation to Alty is much more of a gamble to me.  You have all got what you wanted though, and in return GR will be banking on sentiment against him softening and allowing him to stay on, as I suspect has always been the plan.

You are all being played, to me.
11  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Hello, my name is Grahame... on: March 13, 2017, 12:47:53 PM
I own around a quarter of a small business in the Altrincham area and have the backing of my fellow board members, who also own a further substantial portion.  I am honoured to be the chairman of the said business and I am happy to report it is thriving, having only made small losses recently in a very challenging trading environment.

We have had to revise our business plan recently in the face of stiff competition from other local and not so local businesses that have substantially better financial positions than our own and larger talent pools to call from.

We have mitigated this in 3 ways:
- Re-positioned the business as a community based business,
- Right-sized our aspirations for the business, to allow us to operate in an environment where we are only in competition with smaller businesses than ourselves,
- Employed an exciting trio or experienced managers with the determination ensure the business will prosper in its new form.

Some of our existing customer base have expressed some dissatisfaction with our recent trading, although we are confident that we can bring in new customers to replace them with, in the near future, by means of attractive lower prices and new talent coming into the business.

I would like you all to join me in supporting our revitalized venture on its exciting journey into the future....

Hello my name is Grahame...
...and this is what goes on in my head.

I will always remember my best day in football when Duncan and co showed Jamie Vardy and co a football lesson.
Clearly that didn't mean enough to the board.  Great memory, thanks Alty.

Because I could see the football didn't matter enough to the board.  I was right too, sadly.

Salford weren't playing today, so I thought I'd see how you were getting on.  It was quite sad to see how far you have fallen.  No desire in that squad for the first 70 mins.  Never saw that in the 10 years I followed Alty, even in the bad times.  Saw it coming though...

What I found most bizarre is the passive acceptance of this shambles.  2 quiet chants from the Golf Road faithful at 3-0, and that was it.  Are Alty fans for real!!!  Nice doesn't win games or turn clubs around.

You should be calling for Rowley's head daily.  He should dread turning up.  His Mausoleum bar might be thriving but nothing else is.

You need to get rid and quick and start again.
I hope you can turn it round in a year or two.  Please don't become the next Vics.
15  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Dross on: April 04, 2016, 01:13:00 PM
Face facts Gents...

The board care more about being big in the local community than just football.  (not all bad perhaps?)
The club makes a loss and there doesn't seem to be any new money to stay in the National League.
The ground is falling to bits, save for the 750k community sports hall asset, so money will be needed for the rest soon.
Sinnout and Tols appointment saves money and is probably good enough for NL North.
(I predicted all of this weeks ago, harshly, but I wish I had been proved wrong.)

I appreciate you don't want to do as I did and vote with your feet, but what I would be more worried about is staying up, that may be an even bigger disaster.
A sad situation all round.
Things will get better.
