I think the reason he stayed was that he was earning more with his part time contract and being self employed, than he was being offered by league clubs.

also, i suspect he just loves alty and doesnt want to play for anyone else.

finally gives duncan a run out and he is the best player they have by some margin.

admittedly not hard, but hopefully he'll get a run now.

a difficult read that. i remember watching mark playing, wasnt that long ago. Still enjoy the story of him having a sword under his bed. typical scouser.

carlo nash is getting on a bit, but was a fine keeper in his time. Ive no idea where he lives, but is a local ish lad originally.  he was at norwich last season as a registered player and according to wikipedia (so take with a pinch of salt) is claiming jsa.

i just signed up to the tranmere forum to see how they are coping and saw someone just posted this on there. professional trolling  Grin

are they another stockport? they seem to think they'll be everyone's cup final next season.

good work to get the core of the team nailed down early, the will be a few 'moneybags' offering reasonable or outright desperate contracts in the next few months i would imagine.

for some reason the alty fans website always opens up on page 22 of the threads for me, the way my browser has saved it. Anyway, top of the page was this tranmere thread.

who after today are now bottom of the football league. Shame they were too good to respect the alty friendly really. Maybe this is karmic retribution.

apologies if this has already been posted, hadnt see it anywhere.

A brawl broke out at a Lancaster City football match after players, officials and fans from a rival team turned up at the game.

A contingent from Ramsbottom United, including members of the team, arrived at the Dolly Blues’ match with Radcliffe Borough after their own game with Farsley was postponed, then a fight kicked off.

Lancaster supporters and the Ramsbottom group fought in the stands, bringing the Evo-Stik Premier League First Division North match to a halt.

A man condemned the brawl as it was happening over the Radcliffe Borough ground’s public address system.

He begged the City fans to return to the main stand and asked the Ramsbottom players, staff and fans to leave the ground.

“Thank you for disgracing Radcliffe Borough today,” he said.

“Please stop it. You’re making a right spectacle of yourselves. It’s becoming embarrassing. Grown men.

“The game is going to be abandoned if you carry on this behaviour.”

A fan on the Lancaster City FC supporters internet forum claimed afterwards that at least two Dolly Blues fans were injured and had to be taken to hospital.

The match was at Stainton Park in Radcliffe, Manchester on Saturday afternoon.

When the game restarted after the trouble subsided, City went on to win 4-1.

Ramsbottom United are in the same division as Lancaster City. The Dolly Blues lost 3-1 to Ramsbottom in a league game in February.

12  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Arrests on: December 09, 2013, 06:54:25 PM
akpo sodji and goodison from tranmere arrested. add to that steve jennings investigated for spot fixing while at motherwell signed for them recently.

sam sodji also played for them in pre season.

with such potentially lucrative endeavours available for the tranmere squad, its a wonder they havent signed any decent players

not looking good for tranmere fans
13  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Another story regarding Frank on: November 23, 2013, 12:37:58 PM
I remember John Aldridge picking up a few reds at Tranmere for swearing at the ref.

My understand was that if the ref wanted to, he could send a player off for swearing at him.

most seem to just take the stick and not do owt about it.

wow, this is stupid even by football standards.

begging, borrowing and now jumping through hoops like a dog, just to play the game, despite all the money flying around.
