With regard to distribution of free tickets for school age children. For each Saturday game the club distributes hundreds of children's free tickets together with reduced price ticket for accompanied adults. These go to the attendees of mini kickers, Saturday Morning Club, and schools. I think the figure for the Lincoln game was around 350 of each.

The weekly take up of these can be low however we know that many supporters have ben introduced via this scheme since it was started several years ago.

If anyone would like to distribute tickets to a particular school or club then by all means ring the club, and we will arrange for tickets to be available for you to collect.

Incidentally, many good ideas are mentioned on the forum but if they are not taken up it will usually be that either they have not been seen, or that none of the existing volunteers at the Club have the capacity to take them on. I'm sure that if someone comes along with an idea that they are prepared to explain and to run with they would be very gratefully received.

Just to clarify the CSH element of this discussion, the £110k that has been mentioned is the figure outstanding at the end of the last financial year (May 2015). This has now reduced to £36k, as a result of final grant payments, sponsorship, further fund raisers, etc. These repayments have not impacted the AFC playing budget, nor will they, and the completion of repayments is on schedule for early next year.

The other comments that Grahame Rowley made at the AGM re the need for more revenue streams and volunteer support to enable the club to continue at the current and higher levels of football do reflect the current situation.

4  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / This Evening's Cheque Presentation on: October 06, 2015, 04:17:07 PM
At tonights match Altrincham Football Club's Community Sports Trust will be taking part in a presentation ceremony, where we will be photographed with a cheque for £69,500, which reflects the funding that the Community Co have received from the Football Conference Trust (FCT) over the past 4 years – please note that this is not an amount that we have just received.

The ceremony is to publicise the support that the FCT provide to clubs in the National League. For us this support has been the main source of funding for activities such as School curriculum coaching, Ladies football, Fun weeks, Youth Group coaching, and latterly new activities that have been run in the Community Sports Hall.

These activities have contributed to increasing participation in football and improving the fitness and health of members of the local community. They have also helped to raise the profile of the club within the local community, and increase in  supporter levels.

The Football Conference Trust is a charity that offers grant aid to National League clubs to support and develop their community projects.  Funding is made possible by the generous support of the Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association.  Each has contributed to a fund of £5.2m.  Over 59 National League clubs are currently running projects after receiving funding from the Trust.
We would like to thank Brian Lee and the Football Conference Trust, The Premier League and The PFA for their continued support.

We will be including more information re this presentation, and on our Community activities in one of our forthcoming programmes, however if you are interested in finding out more about the Community Co, please contact the club on 0161 928 1045.

6  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Ladies Promoted! on: June 08, 2015, 11:10:17 AM
Great News this morning

The FA have now decided that both Altrincham and Haslingden will be promoted to the North West Women's Regional League.

So, after only four years of existence, the Ladies have secured their first promotion (hopefully the first of many)

Thanks to all our sponsors, current and past,  to the Football Club, Alan Ainsley, Mersey Valley Sports Club and to Judy Henson for her brilliant work on our promotion pack.
7  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Ladies in Play-Off on: June 08, 2015, 11:06:40 AM
To answer your question:

The way Haslingden is set up all female football comes under one "umbrella" hence the Girls and Ladies

The way Alty is set up the "Girls" teams form part of the Juniors and are administered as such whereas the Ladies are part of the main club

8  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Alty Reserves at J Davidson Stadium this Saturday on: February 19, 2015, 09:33:49 PM
At present it seems most probable that a minimum of 2 teams will go up. Last season there were several new teams and there may be some further consolidation.
9  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Alty Reserves at J Davidson Stadium this Saturday on: February 19, 2015, 08:13:26 PM
As the post title suggests, the Reserves next game will be at the J. Davidson Stadium against Cheadle Town this coming Saturday - 21st - and will kick off at 2pm. Entry is free so, if you are not able to follow the first team at Bristol Rovers that day, why not come along?

The Reserves are pushing for promotion. They currently lie second in The Hallmark Security Cheshire Football League Division 2, behind Wythenshawe Town.
