I thought Moult wa s poor today (two great long passes but some shocking short passes). Possible MOM v Stourbribge poor against Workington and even worse today. May have as well been the third centre half at times leaving Harrop on his own and the opportunity for the oppostion just to pass the ball easily round our midfied again. Not sure if that's his fault or a team issue though?

Hi, I very rarely post and will try to do so more often, however I don't think people weren't supporting the team today there was lots of positive chanting right until the full time whistle today as there was on Tuesday. I honesty believe all are fully behind PP and the team.

I also agree and think most fans accept how well we've played under PP this season, I've certainly enjoyed some of the best football for a number of years.(accepting we're playing at our lowest level ever) However we've now lost 3 at home in 2018 and two in two against teams in the mid or lower table. That is not championship winning form with the best will in the world. I appreciate the weather problems too, however don't think as a management team we've adapted our play accordingly and more physical/direct teams seem to have our measure at the moment.
I'm still confident the team can do the business and get us up, yet today there was a distinct lack of leadership ( nobody talking on the pitch at all today ) and also a distinct lack team spirit today, it appeared at times today players were just standing around hands on hips. I hope I'm wrong but unless something changes big time we'll be in the playoffs! On Tuesday I expect Mickleover will come at at us just like Workington and Stalyvegas and if we leave the space in midfield like we did in both these games they are likely to get something from us too.

More energy like the Stoubridge game from minute one; the team pressing and all working as one then hopefully this is just a blib COYR

thanks Ecky, got you  totally agree and get what you're saying.

Massive few days ahead for Alty in my opinion here's hoping for something positive for a change that all fans can get behind!

In reality yes it's about the players getting the best contracts they can for themselves and their families. I guess I was just hoping after 2-3 seasons out we'd see a player prepared to take a reduction to evo-stick  wages to try and drag HIS team back up to where they belong. Comical and sentimental stupid football dreams that no longer exist I guess? Comic book football hero's  are no more today..... Where's Roy Race when you need him!

Agree too not MD however as said before Densmore looked pretty good in midfield to be fair, we've also missed his leadership on the pitch massively. We could do worse than the densmore, moult combination  in my opinion, however can't really see that. I still wonder if Gary Jones coaching is an option? However after what I saw today it's a massive decision and really really really hope we can get it right this time.

there were approx 580 people in the ground today, however I'm sure sure that includes all the kids, no bad thing by the way that.

Poor game no atmosphere from Alty however great effort from  the Alfreton fans..... and their chanting sounded like ALTY  ALTY best we can can get currentlyy unfortunately

It was hardly  Romania v Poland, but if he's lucky he'll get banned from the rest of the season from Moss Lane! Lucky Chuck

Jim had to try something different. It didn't work. He inherited a very poor squad and the only players available are free agents who are free for a reason. Yes, Obeng over Reeves was weird, but I think he was trying to bringing more speed up front. That didn't work either. On a positive note, the new centre back was pretty decent and the defence generally looked more compact than it has done all season. Dawber was brilliant today. We lack the kind of creativity Nicky would have provided and the kind of physicality that a Robbie Lawton or Eddie would have provided in midfield. I think we're down, but I do believe in miracles.

Unfortunately I don't believe in miracles
the harder you work the luckier you get a great manger once said.
We try and pass the ball yet it was Salford  who had all the chances
(don't think they put more more than 4-5 passes together but to be be fair that doesn't matter and particularly against us when one long ball will do)   We didn't put in one serious challenge today  any where on the park!!!!!!

Dawber was good true however that was because the defence was so poor. 1st goal conceded same old same old ball over the top in the channel catches us out every time and unfortunately that was then game over as we showed very little in the second half. I reckon I've seen 3 of the worst ever Alty  home performances in one season!

I can't currently see us winning  another game, yet we need minimum playoff form just to survive....... based on our last 18-24months performances is that a realistic possibility.

really not sure where we go from here..... perhaps praying for miracles is the only solution, I certainly will  pray for Jim

Total respect and kudos to all the Alty fans who made the trip today and who still plan to get to Lincoln next week; for what looks like a trip for a total hammering. Under the circumstances perhaps the board should look at paying ticket and travel costs of the most loyal fans for today's latest instalment and for potentially having to endure next week?

After following today's match I honestly can't see where we are going to get our next point from so for you guys to keep following is unbelievable.

I thought JimH was the right man to try and dig us out of our current hole, I still do ..... I think. But he needs the help and support of the board to get him exactly who or what he asks for,  if not I can only see one direction for us, we're virtually rock bottom as it stands and the hole only seems to be getting deeper.

Hi, long time lurker first time poster and at this time please excuse my grammar.
I watched the great Alty as youngster in the early 80's I I'm not even going to compare that team of legends to today!
I went off and played sport and have come back for a number of years, so I can't claim knowledge of some of those on the forum; however I've watched regularly for the last 10 years or so and I' m sorry to say this this is the worst effort I've ever seen, possibly the the worst team too.

I actually believe potentially todays players are better than some of the teams we've had in the recent past however the effort or belief in the shirt can't compare to to the likes of Lawton or even Peyton plus many others you all have seen!

Jake Moult is a shadow of the the player in promotion season or even the first season of National league, as is Simon Richman.

I like Jimmy Lawrie he scored a great goal today however please dont expect him to be a winger or midfield general  Sean Miller who also scored a great goal should perhaps be after one place

What worries me more is the fact our two centre haves John Cyrus can't play a channel ball like every other defender in this league can and Danny Hall got beaten in exactly the same way as Saturday for a goal again!
Not sure why Reevsey was subbed today and Jim's substitutions did  leave me perplexed on  Saturday.... In Jim we trust However will he still be here to pick up the pieces next year too when we're expected to watch level 7 football?

perhaps the board have an answer for us?

Over a third over the season now gone we have one win and no home win, we've let two teams get their first away win and win in our last two home games.. under those circumstances I'm really worried we are heading to Level 7 and currently can;t see anything to stop this slide?

Really hope I'm wrong and but honestly can't see any answer in our current squad?

Apologies for the negative first post but as a long time supporter I was really disappointed tonight, however I will try and cheer on positive play moving forwards!
