To be fair to the management, when Jordon signed for Fylde i think it caught us on the wrong foot.I do think now is the time to get a replacement in though.
This is the crux of why we are where we are at the moment. No point brooding on it either, but anyone can see that there is a weakness in the final third of the pitch that needs addressing without delay.
Other than the final 10 minutes, I wasn't able to watch last night, but I gathered from my son that we were second best from the off, improving as the game went on, but only because they sat back. I think that SM were always fancied to beat us so we shouldn't be too surprised at the result last night, it's just that we're still smarting after Saturday, when it was clear to everyone who saw it that we had Wealdstone for the taking.
The sale of Jordan was just at the most wrong time possible as teams would not be willing to let any decent strikers move; we, alas, were caught in a difficult place.
to get Jordan to sign a new contract we had to put in a sell on clause and we could not match Fylde's wages (ignore the government money etc for wages) and were not in a position to have one person in the dressing room on significantly more money than the other players.
the Jordan sale has put Parkie and his team in a very, very difficult situation, but you really cannot lay any blame anywhere.
Considering our injuries, difficult conditions for our style of play and the point that Moors were a quality team - I think the praise of RR on their players was entirely just - we didn't put in a bad performance.
