Regarding the outcome of the first game ....I had the great fortune to finish 3rd in the game before it was re-set. I understood there was to be some kind of prize awarded for the top 3 ( maybe top 5?)... but iíve heard nothing since.

Can anyone advise? Thanks

Now that is one for Hashtag Alty.

There is a prize for top 5. As one of the top 5 was an under 18, organising a beer tasting wasn't viable so we've arranged some beer prizes for the other 4, and then of course, the actual trophy for the winner.

Sorry - on reading my post again, it's badly worded and open to misinterpretation. Apologies to anybody I unintentionally offended (I'm still one of the disaffected myself after all !)

I'm trying to open discussion on whether our long lease, which most of us applauded at the time, is actually a good thing.

Besides the pitch issues, there is a lot about our ground that would need improvement if we were to progress. I would favour 4G if I were to accept that we would never reach the Football League - but I'll never abandon my 60 year old dream.

The CSH is a great asset, but other areas of the ground are old and tired (so am I).

Anyone got thoughts on this ?
Let's say it cost £200k minus all the grants and funding, and it took us 4 years to get to the football league, I'd like to think we could earn 50k a earn in revenue to cover the installation.

We could then rip it up and install grass for our football league season.

I'd rather we have grass...

Believe we've had the ref before. Don't remember him if we did

Grantham

That's a surprise as I thought he was decent that day.

Bar the JJ one (which he probably thought about Hulme's lunge or Densmores late one on the line) he was okay.

I just thought he spoke to players too much.

Our goal difference will only come in to play if we finish level on points

Is that a new rule then?  Grin

In a long time.

Very lucky but you earn luck. Shaun Densmore with some intelligence to lay it up for Pooole.

Warrington clearly up for it against us.

What do you class as a long time? I wasn't there today but surely it can't have been any worse than the majority of home games last season?!

Stafford was worse by a mile.

Stafford seems worse to many as it was opening day, we expected to turn up and win.

We played some decent football in parts in that game. We played very little football yesterday.

Warrington are miles better than Stafford. So it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Stafford

We had some shots against stafford, the goals killed us at key points in that game.

Today I donít remember a shot in the second half troubling their keeper

Wow, big statement. What is classed as a 'long time'. From my limited memory, Stafford first game of the season was much worse and that was only six months ago.

Stafford was a better performance

I appreciate the update Andrew.

I have read the original meeting minutes. some fantastic ideas in there, and I find it strange that there are no mention of the supporters game. I was originally invite to the meeting but then never received the location or time, hence why we couldn't have asked earlier.

I look forward to Supporters team getting a call or email from Grahame to discuss this in more details, in which I hope we can discuss in detail why the supporters team weren't included at this meeting.

Is it really within a Chairman's role to be personally arranging a supporters v staff match? On one hand you want the person in this role to focus on serious issues and moving the club forward, on the other you appear frustrated he hasn't personally been in touch regarding this game. Surely there is a chain of command that doesn't warrant this to be the Chairman's personal job to arrange.

As the chairman decided to host a meeting at his house, for the arrangement of the beer festival, he takes ownership of the event.
If he hasn't delegated to someone there to ask the supporters for the game, he holds responsibility

The original plan; was for Judy to arrange it (this was mentioned at NLD meeting) So I'm not sure why he's hosted the night.

I'm not arsed about me getting spoken to, but he could have spoken to Tom Jacobs, Leighton Wright, Dec Cavangh or Ecky, who've all had a hand in the supporter teams at one time or another.

My issue is if there was a planned game all along, why has nobody from that meeting reached out, or the organiser.

I hope Grahame can also take time to provide an update as per my email.

Not that he reads these posts.  Roll Eyes

There are no plans to hold a Staff v Supporters game this year. Given the time I know a few people put in to maintaining our Supporters Teamís training sessions, games etc... Iíd say thatís a big shame. It would be a nice payoff for them to be able to grace the pitch.
The Staff v Supporters is usually a good curtain raiser of the Beer 🍺 Festival and a fund raiser for the club.

The fact the club's haven't approached the supporters team to tell us this. Just found out by third parties

Our Chris and I were one of the ones affected by the cancellation. It is one of those things and though we were angry at the time, I am now philosophical about it. I do believe that Stourbridge tried to get the game on but they were beaten by the weather. We were kept waiting outside the ground for 30 minutes as Stourbridge did not want to charge us until they knew the game was on. Plenty of enjoyable banter with our players outside the ground, but I felt for them coming all that way for nothing and we felt their frustration too, but these things happen. Stourbridge staff were very apologetic so no worries.

After the game Stourbridge invited us into their clubhouse for a couple of pints before we went home. I'm glad we did that as it was quite nice. Oh by the way I have this thing about pork scratchings, as the club and most of you know. That area of Birmingham from Wolverhampton to Stourbridge is actually where they originate from. Bought two bags at the ground and they were the best I have ever tasted!! Yum.

Went back on the coach afterwards and got off at Alty leisure centre, headed on the tram to Sale.  Went to the Block and Gasket to watch City v Newcastle and then for  a Ruby Murray afterwards. Went to the spice restaurant on  Northenden Road as could not get into Marsala Lounge. Very very hot Madras which did me in this morning.

Strange day that!!

How did they try and get it on? Did the groundsman work on it? Was there a call for volunteers.

They'd be delighted for a game against us midweek

Home to Winsford or Warrington

Should we play Warrington, that will mean 4 games so far, with a 5th to play. (2 league, 3 cup)

Is that a record number of games against a side in a single season?

I think we played Fisher 5 times in a season in the early 90s
