Thrashed 6-0, man sent off and 823 fans responded to the rallying call. Id be surprised if we have a home game a week on Tuesday...
I suspect they may be able to field a team on October 30th but would not be able to do so two days later - players would be free agents if they weren't paid at the end of the calendar month. Either way I wouldn't expect any points gained to count in the final League table ...

Wouldnt' be more a case of league record and points being expunged and points deucted   from the teams who have gained points.

That's the point Mike is making !

Better side for 40 minutes, then totally imploded. Williams a massive loss. I'd have hooked JJ after an hour. Totally ineffective.

Their physical approach in the second half changed it more than anything. Very disappointed tonight.

2-2 (JJ pen, Harrop). Could be feisty out there, we need to finish with 11 on the pitch.

Attendance 3197

There are highlights from last night posted in the youth team section of the forum

And they're well worth watching.

If you read my comment I clearly said it's not the mistakes...it's their attitude......

I bet half of them are cyclists with go pros attached to their helmets....
Only half ?
6  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Quality of the Fosters in Community Hall on: October 15, 2018, 07:33:46 PM
It's never been a great pint at the club, even before the Sports Hall was built, the Fosters was often flat in the Noel White Suite. I suspect it may be because we don't pull many through throughout the week? So the barrel sits in between match days. I've no idea though. I opt for the cider.

When we had Kronenbourg 1664 in the Noel White suite, I used to find it was an acceptable alternative to my preferred real ale. I've never forgiven Watney's for stopping production of Webster's and using Halifax, a brewery with a natural spring, to produce Fosters. I don't mind decent lager, but Fosters doesn't meet the description (buy a proper "tinnie" in Earls Court and you'll see the massive difference between the real thing and the gnat's pee produced for our market).

Even so, I'll accept it's better than the chemicals in a glass that's marketed as Carling !

Those who can, do. Those who can't, referee. And then set out to totally piss off those who can.

Where are you Phil Taylor ? We need a cogent article for the defence, but it's a big ask !

There is no such thing as a decent pint of Foster's. You'll be looking for a tasty McDonald's next ffs.

Excellent highlights as usual. Looks like I missed a quality performance.

The 11A no longer goes past Edgeley Park, only the number 11 goes past now

I hadn't realised that had changed - there goes MY grand plan. I'll just take the 11 through to the Town Centre and catch the 11A back out again when I've beered up.

Bit early in the season if this is true, if it is then the league has a case to answer for letting them start.

See statement from the owner of their ground which is on John Laidlar's most recent thread. Their backers seem to have been split, or to have simply lost interest. It doesn't look good.

11A bus from Altrincham stops right by Edgeley Park. But DON'T get the 11 as it does a guided tour of Wythenshawe and takes about 80 minutes !

I remember going to Oakwell to watch the youth away at Barnsley in the FA Cup but that was a good few years ago. It may have been the same game that goalkeeper Ashley Timms brought no gloves with him and the coach had to stop at a sports shop on the way to buy him some!!

That must have been around 2003 since he was born in 1985.

What round was when we lost at Walsall?  It was late November
2013-4 2nd round. We'd won by the odd goal in 9 at Runcorn Town, beat Vauxhall Motors 4-1, and Nostell Miners Welfare 10-3 (both at home), and then beat Wrexham 2-1 at Moss Lane in the 1st.Round proper.

Despite going down 4-0 at the Bescot Stadium, that run qualifies as George Heslop's finest few hours !

John Laidlar reports rumour that they have told all their players that they're free to find new clubs.
