1  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Altrincham v Stourbridge Re-arranged on: February 27, 2018, 03:44:39 PM
That now means 4 home games in 12 days!

That iis going to be a bit much on the wallets of some. It could therefore be a great opportunity for the club to offer up some kind of scheme, to reduce pricing for those attending all games (Free entry to St Patrick's Day Stalybridge game, if attending the previous three?).

Could the SLOs look into this with the club? It might be a tight turnaround to put something in place but worth looking into.

Iíve forwarded this to the club and will update as soon as I know anything.

A message from the board regarding todayís incident...

ďDuring todayís game there was an incident on the Popular Side Terrace in which a long time Altrincham fan was evicted from the ground for constant bad language, verbal abuse towards a steward and then physical aggression. As Altrincham fans know, this is unacceptable at our club and the supporter in question has been given a lifetime ban from the J Davidson Stadium.Ē
3  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Witton Match Thread on: January 01, 2018, 10:23:47 PM
Thought Witton just about deserved their win today, first half they just seemed to want in more especially in midfield and adapted to the conditions better than we did. Second half we came back into it but apart from the two goals I don't remember us creating many more clear chances despite all the possession and getting to the byline a few times. Witton weren't creating much themselves but when they did break they just seemed to be that bit more dangerous. Bit of a wonder goal for the fourth but to me they did seem to be the  stronger team at 3 3. Not sure what can be done about the pitch over the next few weeks other than hoping it doesn't rain too much, it's the worst I've seen it for quite a few years.
thank heavens we have the sprinklers now .

Top tease of the year so far
I'll take it even though it's day 1 of 2018

Itís only day 1 of 365 Wayno...

Nicks exact words on being told of this?

ďHeís obviously a good looking chap as well. Who the f**k is Craig Pawson?Ē

Iíll be amazed if itís on. Not stopped raining in Warrington since Tuesday evening. Probably a doubt.
6  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Should Saturday's match V Shaw Lane be segregated? on: December 05, 2017, 03:51:31 PM
This has been brought up in discussion with different fans already and the consensus is that we should use everything we can to our advantage given that this is arguably our biggest game of the season so far.

I have already recommended this to Bill Waterson who promised me he would pass it on. I will be emailing the rest of the board directly and also our Volunteer coordinator so that they are also aware hat we may be segregating.

As soon as I have a definite answer I will be in touch with Shaw Lane to inform them, as well as reporting back on here.

I'd suggest making some suggestions to the club on how we can promote this game more would be a better thing to be doing, rather than focussing on segregating 30/40 fans.

If we can swell the crowd by an additional two hundred or so by self-promotion, these away fans will be even more insignificant in numbers.

Posters in every pub in Alty, Hale, Sale etc? Same in large office blocks in the area? Pushing Altrincham Today, HQ etc. to really promote the game.

This is a game we could, with a big push, get 1,200 for with hopefully some returning regularly to watch our push for the title. Let's focus on getting new/additional fans to Moss Lane. This may be happening but it's not something I've seen with five days to go.

Already working on it. Like many things at the club, our PR needs a complete overhaul. Thanks to our social media team, a lot of good promotion is already in place there and this will only improve.

Thanks for the feedback.

Ok, thanks. Iíll take that as a possibly, then. I would think the 51% will go to one purchaser. Hope so anyhow. Any more fragmentation will just make it more unwieldy and unmanageable. Please think of me when/if you decide to sell, my request is genuine.

Atticus - I believe there are still shares available to purchase outside of the 51% from the club if you'd like to purchase.

This is indeed correct, and I believe money will go straight to the football club as opposed to a private entity, therefore benefitting the team, as Bill waterson wrote in his programme notes that money's in will be reinvested into the planned overspend on playing budget.

Actually looks like a proper footballer.

Who'd have thought

Not me, he looked like Bambi on ice when he played for us

His goal on TV against Bromley away was a superb finish though. Highlight of his Altrincham career that.

Copy and lasted for direct from he FA website...

The referee:
allows play to continue until the ball is out of play if a player is only slightly injured
stops play if a player is seriously injured and ensures that the player is removed from the field of play. An injured player may not be treated on the field of play and may only re-enter after play has restarted; if the ball is in play, re-entry must be from the touchline but if the ball is out of play, it may be from any boundary line. Exceptions to the requirement to leave the field of play are only when:
a goalkeeper is injured
a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need attention
players from the same team have collided and need attention
a severe injury has occurred
a player is injured as the result of a physical offence for which the opponent is cautioned or sent off (e.g. reckless or serious foul challenge), if the assessment/treatment is completed quickly
ensures that any player bleeding leaves the field of play. The player may only re-enter on receiving a signal from the referee, who must be satisfied that the bleeding has stopped and there is no blood on the equipment
if the referee has authorised the doctors and /or stretcher bearers to enter the field of play, the player must leave on a stretcher or on foot. A player who does not comply, must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour
if the referee has decided to caution or send off a player who is injured and has to leave the field of play for treatment, the card must be shown before the player leaves
if play has not been stopped for another reason, or if an injury suffered by a player is not the result of an offence, play is restarted with a dropped ball

I think the section in boldness is what we are looking for. As long as the referee doesn't deem the treatment as taking too long and the offence that caused the injury is a caution or a sending off the player doesn't have to leave the pitch.
11  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Clitheroe Match Thread on: October 30, 2017, 05:10:29 PM
Can any refs confirm the correct way to stop and restart the game in the event of something being said worthy of a red...coz the guy restarted with a free kick to clitheroe where they had the ball...

Also if a fouler is booked does the foulee have to go off the pitch after receiving treatment??

I'm sure there was a change in the rules this year regarding enforced removal from the pitch after treatment. I will have a look and see if I can find it.

Warrington beaten 2-1

Farsley drawing 3-3 with Ashton was another good result for us too-for both sides.

Glad weíve got the FAT Saturday now, hopefully a comfortable win and then finally we will get a midweek off before Buxton visit a week Saturday. 28-3 to us now in the last 7 home league games.

I think that is Ashton's third 3-3 draw on the bounce. Better defensively and they'd be there or there abouts.
13  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Warrington Match Thread on: October 19, 2017, 11:52:04 PM
Warrington have been advertising our game outside their ground since last Saturday. I spotted it on the way to our game from near there.
14  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Statement from Bill Waterson regarding Stafford and Coalville matches on: October 19, 2017, 03:40:44 PM
Monsieur,

Thanks for your speedy response.  I agree with you that such a procedure would be necessary and therefore needs to be defined.

With regards to your other point, we are actively working to improve the home fan match day experience and hopefully some evidence of this was provided by Non League Day.

I accept fully your point re the lateness of this statement and apologise for that

Bill
The statement is poor, it nowhere near addresses what went wrong and doesn't even acknowledge the board got it wrong with the Coaville farce.

Also an apology for compromising fans safety should have been a minimum requirement - yet there is nothing of the sort. The only apology is for the lateness of the statement itself which is ridiculous

This statement treats the supporters with disdain, I'm surprised the SLO's have supported it

If you genuinely believe that Jamie, then nothing I say will make you change your mind.

It's amusing that you seem to have an issue with how I act as an SLO, but haven't spoken to me, messaged me or emailed me to put forward your point of view.

You have a clear lack of understanding of the role (as does the majority of the board at the minute), but as this is a Supporters Direct and Football Supporters Federation initiative, I am receiving support from them.

This was not a club idea, and my role is to be communicative, not a firefighter.

I will pressure the club into listening to the fans, and until things change I will make it as uncomfortable as possible for those that choose not to listen, as was evidenced by my hour long discussion with the chairman after the recent Nantwich game.

Communicaion doesn't mean agreement, so please don't mistake me for a Rowley apologiser.
15  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: tinpot cup on: October 17, 2017, 10:19:15 PM
win on pens  wonder how many changes Ashton made?, I would play a similar team in the trophy.

1 enforced I believe.

A decent performance tonight. Sean Miller looked back to his self, just faded towards the end as not match fit. Young right back Jones looked accomplished, and good to see Lawrence get a good runout. The introduction of the youth team players was a joy to watch. Played with confidence, the Parkinson style of football and were direct. If Mason Walsh goes down earlier he wins the penalty, but made a meal of it after getting away from the defender and was rightly booked. Omatola looked in desperate need of match practice.

Parkinson wins penalty shootouts. Water in to wine next?

EDIT: Big shout out to Max Harrop who was outstanding today, especially in the first half when he was a real nuisance to them, and took his goal very well. Added bite to a young midfield when Sheridan and Taylor were subbed and he was asked to play deeper. Not his position but slotted in well.
