Anyone watching sky sports now will have just seen ex Alty midfielder Eddie Bishop scoring a cracking goal for Tranmere. Really good player for us he was and he's a cracking bloke as well.

Obviously we're all bantering about top of the league/play offs etc and we should be realistic really.

However, it's worth enjoying the first 3 games of the season for all it's worth, regardless of whether the season turns to be good bad or indifferent.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the 1st 3 games of the 2002-03 Unibond League season.

NO DATE AT AGAINST (Click for match report) K/O RES ATT ALTRINCHAM SCORERS POS
1 17.8.02 H Harrogate Town 3.00 0-4 552   23
2 20.8.02 A Vauxhall Motors 7.45 0-4 315   23
3 24.8.02 A Hucknall Town 3.00 1-4 302 Talbot 61 23

How far away did 2nd in the Coneference tucked inbetween Luton Town and Oxford United seem in those darkest of days? Well done to everyone who kept the faith and kept this great club alive (properly alive too, not signed over and started again as iif nothing had happened).

Right, off for a trawl through the old forum...

The NLP said that we used 29 players this season. I presume they referred to league games only. As ever it's inaccurate! Going from the stats in the grays programme we had 28 players who got on the pitch and 3 who were on the bench but didn't play (Owen, Heffernan and McFadden). Without cheating or looking at other posts how many of these can you name? (I got 25 out of the 28).

I thought he was excellent for them yesterday as well, a really good conference midfielder.

Don't spoil it if we've done it before.  ;)

Which ex Alty player would have been looking on keenly as his brother took wickets on the opening day of the cricket county championship today?

Hi,

If you are the Alty fan who joined up TASC at the Woking game, please could you pm me on here.

Thanks

Altrincham FC First Team / Urgent - TASC RACE NIGHT AND HORSES
« on: April 14, 2009, 10:09:15 AM »
All,

As you know it is the annual TASC Race night on Saturday starting at 7 for 7.30pm. Of all the things we do at the club, for me this is the best night out. God knows how good it will be now we aren't being relegated for once!  ;D

Anyway, and this is the urgent bit, Thank you to all who have bought a horse for the race night. We now need to get names and money in as well so that we can produce the programme for the evening.

1. If you have bought a horse but couldn't think of a name at the time please send a personal message to me or Cornerflag on this forum, or email the club    office@altrinchamfc.co.uk or ring the club 0161 928 1045.

2. If you have bought a horse but not yet paid for it (£5) please bring your money to the Grays game and hand it in to any TASC commmittee member (Me, Foz, Flynny, Mike Ainsworth, Grahame Rowley, Ian Jones etc) or even to the race night.

3. We still have a couple of horses available for sponsorship at £5

4. Even more so we have a couple of races left that need sponsoring. These cost £25. Again please contact the club asap if you can help.

Many thanks

Gareth Thomas

Altrincham FC First Team / Dean Saunders interview
« on: April 13, 2009, 08:55:22 PM »
This basically sounds like the longest 7 minutes 49 seconds of Dean Saunder's life.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_conf/7982089.stm

Haven't laughed so much for years.  :D So basically Dean your team have tossed it off, you've got about 4 players worth keeping and you're bored with the whole scenario.

Altrincham FC First Team / Fao London Alty types re Ebbsfleet away
« on: March 25, 2009, 08:11:01 PM »
Seeing as time off work is looking unlikely at the moment, how long does it take to get from London City airport to Ebbsfleet? How hard is it to do so? And do any of you lot depart from that area of London? I understand it's other side of Thames.

Bit of a struggle making it altho there is a flight from manchest at 16.35 (get to LCY 17.50) for £70 which may be a possibility, jus thinking ahead like .

Altrincham FC First Team / Tonight's Alty Trivia Question
« on: March 18, 2009, 09:33:08 PM »
No cheating and looking on the official site but...

1. Who is Altrincham's record goal scorer in FA Cup matches (as far as records allow)?
- That's ALL FA Cup matches.

2. Who is the top scorer in FA Cup PROPER matches. i.e. 1st round onwards?

89
Dear All,

At recent TASC Comittee meetings we discussed how we could best out forward the views of our membership to the club (albeit we only have about 30 members at the moment) so that we could work together with them and possibly get some direction on improvements we would like to see made.

In essence, we want YOUR OPINIONS, tell us what your experiences of the club are like.

Positive - What is it at Alty that encourages you to come to games? Where did you hear about Alty games? When you are at the ground what is a pleasurable part of the match day experience? What sort of fundraising do we do that relates to you and you find easy to commit to?

Not so positive - Are there any things at Alty that you would like to see improved? Are there any things that happen at games that mean we are missing out on your custom or your opinions?

How to improve - what sort of things would you like to see (within reason) at Alty? How could we encourage new supporters or make supporting Alty better for the fans we ahve (apart from win more often obviously).

There a lots of things we need to know so...

PLEASE EMAIL US AT altyviews@tiscali.co.uk

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS THREAD!! SEND YOUR EMAILS TO THE ABOVE ADDRESS, EACH ONE WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED INDIVIDUALLY AND THE COMMITTE WILL BE ABLE TO POOL VIEWS AND IDEAS TO SEE WHERE WE CAN ENHANCE THE 'ALTY EXPERIENCE'
  :)

Again, please do not reply to this thread as we don't want it turning into a debate about stoppers/prices whatever, if you have an opinion email it through so it can be considere dproperly.
