If Hannigan's fit, he'll surely start.
Why? Jones has been outstanding in the last two games.

Very unfair - the lad was a rare bright spark at times last season and I thought he'd tear up this league.

A combination of injury and others doing well mean it hasn't quite happened, but I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

Agreed. Just needs to get fit and confident. He isn't and doesn't deserve to be a starter so a loan move is the best option. Recall Walsh, even though suspended but very much fit. Sensible decision.

Very sad. RIP Dave.

Gutted. Only solution is an underground drainage system, they often use them at American Football grounds,I can't attach a photo. The pitch is very flat this year without the middle curve.

Bemused thereís a pitch inspection, if the worst bits have been covered it should be playable, it snowed all day last Tuesday and it played ok. The stiff breeze will help also, Iíd expect far more than a 50/50 chance if Iím honest

Agreed. If it hasn't been played on for a week then it will be fine.

Be careful what you wish for - I'd rather a player with bite (and a disciplinary record) than half the pansies we've had here over the past few years.

Agreed and PP will keep them in check. Richman is always going to get cards as he harrases players. You will pick up cards playing centre mid but we have Harrop,Richman and Moult.
Also Poole, Hampson and Taylor who can play there.
Sheridan is not needed and good decision as he has never got himself fit, which is my concern for Miller.
That lad needs to do some personal workouts because he is lacking fitness and confidence but can be a very good player for us.

Assuming the worse and Jones, Hannigan and Johnson are unavailable.

                       Thompson

Densmore Moult Harrison Hampson

                Richman.    Harrop

         Peers.  Poole.  Hancock.

                       Hulme

Big of a re-jig but should be strong enough to get a positive result

Buxton 0-1 Alty.  Poole

I like to see Walsh recalled aswel. Think he'd make more of an impact off the bench than Miller

Agree with this team if Jones and JJ remain injured.

Good honest interview. Very good manager, some very good football last night on still a difficult pitch.

One of our better performances for the first 80 minutes tonight, I thought we totally dominated the game. Given recent strong performances, from Warrington and Witton, I thought Ashton were pretty poor in comparison.
Great contributions from Hampson on the wing, Hancock looked sharp, James Poole played well and Harrop was deservedly man of the match.
We just lost our way after the substitutions, we missed Hulme up front and Hampson wide left, although you coule see what PP was trying to do, 3-0 up with 10 minutes to play.

Agreed. Jones was very good again until his injury. Fell apart with Jones and Moult off. How good is Hampson at left back? and Harrop, his energy and vision is excellent.
I hope it is nothing serious for Jones.
Next Tuesday against Shaw Lane is huge.
The pitch was better than I expected.

Fair enough. Lawrie was technically a cut above than most Alty players around him, but was lazy and ineffective.
I just hope Poole doesn't become like him. Just for the record Poole is much better than Lawrie.
I do really like Poole and Moult, just going on merit for what I have watched.
12  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Ashton Utd Match Thread on: February 05, 2018, 06:23:10 PM
I think both Moult and Poole are vastly underrated by many.

I'm guessing Hannigan and Johnson won't be available.

Only decision is Richman or Harrop. Richman for me in what will a hard encounter.

Alty P-P Ashton

I rate both Poole and Moult. I have always said Moult wins those important headers. For me it's about Moult looking a bit sluggish and both Richman and Harrop are playing better. Harrop can play Moult's role. PP wont drop Moult anyway.
With Poole it's whether he deserves to be in there after some ineffective performances. Yes I know he scored the scrappy equaliser. However Hancock has played better than him as the number 10.
I don't mean as a permanent change but maybe freshen it up.

I agree. I would like to see Hancock number 10 and Richman and Harrop in mid. Mix it up a bit. More energy.

With weather seasons being just generally wetter we may have no choice to look at 4g but I would be gutted. It just isn't the same vibe as grass roots.
Personally I feel the club need to seek professional advice this summer and at the earliest opportunity get the pitch up.
In 30 plus years of watching them the pitch hasn't been a huge problem most seasons, so I wouldn't panic but would most defo look into a drainage system and maybe seek fans donation. I would put up to £30 in the pot.
15  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Home Advantage on: February 03, 2018, 03:35:59 PM
The pitch is a huge concern. I could stand corrected but I am sure we didn't relay it last summer? Probably money needed saving for the barriers and player budget. I could be wrong.
It needs digging up in the summer and a drainage system of some sort needs placing a foot or two underneath the surface that runs out the ground into a nearby drainage pipe. A big cost but needs doing.
Could the well talked about sprinklers be leaking underground?
This pitch could ruin our promotion challenge but at the same time playing at another ground would be rubbish.
Might not have a choice.
It is definitely the worst I've seen it.
Buy a load of gazebo's with sides,I bought quite a decent size one for a festival for 45 quid. Around 6 of those will be sweet. You can actually buy the pop up ones but more of a cost. Worth a thought. Keep the frost off too and won't damage the grass as much as sheets.
