Would like to see a back 3 of Jones Harrison and Hannigan with the full backs bombing on, both of them are fit enough to do that.
Can't wait to see a fit James Poole return, I don't think we have seen the best of him yet.

Cryotherapy last night was in a chamber and believe it was as low as -150 degrees. Sounds cold to me.

I expect Connor Hampson had his gloves on  Wink

Think the lads deserve a lot of credit for going to Lymm for Cryotherapy post match yesterday. Well done to Tommy and the club for sorting this. I think shows real commitment from the players, staff and club looking after there bodies when they could be out on Saturday evening.

Is cryotherapy where you have to plunge yourself into ice water etc

Walking from the ground to the car park was cold enough for me !

Yip your right there fella

Let's give him a run up front with Jordon if the info is true.

Yes, after we find out if he's any good first  Cheesy

I was assuming the club would know if he was any good prior to signing him on a loan deal

Of course they'll be "a big physical outfit".

Elementary, my dear - Watson !

You weren't wrong about the Physical...
It was a bit like pub kicking out time with some of there tackles
Good result played much better second half
Well done

Steve Drench would be good for us

Southport say they are bringing a big following tomorrow. Hopefully the game is organised as well as the stockport fixture and they are in the correct area of the stadium rather than having a big following roaring them on in the home end

Yep the Stockport situ worked well.
They won't mind standing in the away end, It will be the same as us going to their place.

If they are coming on mass then segregation is key.

Not feeling optimistic about this (or Tuesday). Tossing off the Trophy has had a real impact on momentum. Would be pleased with a draw but suspect a defeat.

I am no great fan of Man City or Pep Guardiola, but I do admire the point that City put out very strong teams in recent cup games getting resounding victories just when they were wavering a bit. Good management for me, that.

Fully agree

Need to get back to playing the smooth fast passing game that we were playing pre Xmas.
Do that and we win... Would still like to see us change tact if were struggling.

Over the winter period we've been shown how far off the top we are currently - and the good news is that it's nowhere near as far as we thought it would be at the start of the season.

A good goalkeeper doesn't just do the basics; he gets his defence out of jail once or twice a game. Thompson does neither. Much like proven goalscorers, good goalkeepers are tough to find - particularly mid season. I fully expect PP is monitoring the situation, but there's no point in getting any old keeper just for the sake of it. It's that type of recruitment policy that got us in trouble.

I actually thought we defended magnificently in the first half. We dealt witb everything they put into the box. Maybe it's a concentration thing, to a man we were dreadful second half. I thought Leather was fabulous marshalling their back line, I do miss him.

The players need to be encouraged to shoot on sight; we seemed to be doing this more often in the first half when their goalkeeper was struggling with the wet surface, and we obviously got our goal from it. When JJ was through in the second half, he wasn't in too dissimilar a position to Wilson when he scored their second. Guess what - he put his lace through it. Their goalkeeper didn't look much better than ours.

We definitely need some better options off the bench, however considering how little we've seen of two of pur best players last season (Poole and Harrison) we're not doing too bad. We badly missed Poole's ball retention yesterday, nobody does it even remotely as well as him, and that's the difference at this level.

I wasn't too impressed with shouts of 'murderer' at Meppen-Walters. The lad might deserve some stick, but I'd like to think we're better than that (I appreciate some will disagree).

Murderer doesn't sound nice.
However, it is true. If you asked the parents of the two victims they would agree...
Plus.. he has just been banned for another 2 years for drink driving.
It wasn't me who called him a murderer.
8 months in jail doesn't admonish his selfish actions.

I wasn’t there today but have seen enough of Tony Thompson to know he’s not good enough to be a National League North goalkeeper.

Someone on the Chorley forum sstated he is the worst keeper in the league , maybe harshly

Maybe not !

The Chorley keeper was far from brilliant

With Wynne out on loan I would have thought TT would be more relaxed and confident as his selection is a given.
Obviously not the case

Arguably the most important position to build team confidence.
Im afraid we need another keeper.

Not at the races second half.
We need a fit Poole once his loan period is done
We need a keeper (where have I heard that before)
We need a striker to support Jordon (where have I ..........)
Most importantly we need a plan B and some subs who can come on and make a difference, not like for like...

Cmon Alty don't let the season drift by.
Southport next let's get at them and give them a beating.
Nice to say hi to Mr Coburn...
