Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Press release re Investment

Can someone from the Club please explain why personal points of view are being put on the Official website? Its not only embarrassing but misleading that an account of the EGM should feature in this way. Fair play to the Laidlar's for the extensive work with the website in the past but surely if the Club wish to progress and become more commercially viable, a new website is required.

Now all the facts have been explained, I am fully behind this move and will vote YES. Rowley already has a controlling hand and calls the shots, so anything that may facilitate him moving on gets my support.

First of all anyone that criticises Bill for the timing of todays statement is misguided. As the Bishop of Manchester and many others have said although the events last night were horrific, we mustn't let the b******s win.

I haven't yet received my Shareholder letter and I am all for Rowley leaving the club, but a few things are niggling me.

Why now? a share issue has been raised a few times over the years and has always been rejected. This despite the need for investment.
Why do the shares go in Rowley's name?
Are there investors in the pipeline?
What if investors are not found, does Rowley keep the shares forever?
Why is our aim only the Conference National, surely we want to progress as far as we can? Investors love ambition and there is no reason we couldn't get to the Football League with the right amount of investment aligned with a sound business plan.

Its time that he moved on, but I do find it difficult to trust Rowley after recent events.

Why would anyone want to watch the worst squad we've had, train? I can't believe it's listed as an attraction.

Being honest and articulate are the not the key requirements of a football manager. Theyve had a 5 month long interview and failed dismally.

They closed to applicants last Sunday. So the new manager although not yet selected will be one of a handful. I'd get him in so he can select which players he wants to keep. He can also get around other games identidying new players

Stability is important but the Club have initiated a recruitment process. If he is the best candidate that has applied then we really do have problems.

Hopefully this will be Doughty's last match in charge. I'd like to think that they will appoint a new manager this week, otherwise it was pointless in having the process so early.

I thought Rowley was leaving? Wasn't that why the protest was cancelled?

This closed doors agreement belittle everyone of the 29 that walked out.

I'd also question why that extremely poor statement was released with a begging bowl and then all of a sudden the day after after we have an investment masterplan.

In 6 years of being Chairman, Rowley's board have shown very little dynamism, why now all of a sudden?

Also who attended this meeting and how are they representative of the supporters? If Rowley continues through the Summer will the protests continue? Has it been ruled out that we will end up with Doughty as manager?

It sounds like GR has had Rowley Out's pants down. There is no evidence that he will step down or even change. I don't understand why the protests should stop.

Altrincham FC First Team / Is it time to bring back SAFE?
« on: April 03, 2017, 06:21:07 PM »
Is there an appetite out there for a Supporters meeting to gather support against the direction the Board of the football club is heading?

The Rowley Out group have done sterling work in bringing the unhappiness to the Board's attention but we need to show them that there is a lot of anger and upset of what has happened and far more than 29 people. With Rowley showing no possibility of stepping down is now the time that we got organised as a group. We currently have no effective supporters group at a time when it is needed the most.

I welcome your thoughts.

I agree that there's a shortfall but there are a number of Better and more imaginitive ways of encouraging people to donate money than this. It's like something the school PTA would send out and is far from a rallying cry.

It beggars belief. Who thought that they was a good statement to put out at this time. We're relegated because of a poor referee on Saturday, oh maybe there's more to it than that. Let's pat them all on the head and ask them for money.

I hope more people boycott the fundraiser so that maybe they'll get the message that this Club deserves more.

If Doughty is appointed as seems seemingly likely, they won't get a penny from me next season.
