It's never over until it's mathematically impossible to catch us, then we can relax and celebrate but it's all good so far.

Are there any ex professional footballers interested in investing in Alty, like Giggsy and Co did at Salford City.

They are now a club on the rise, so why not Alty?

What a contrast between last New Year and this New Year. The club is on the up and has it's destiny in it's own hands now. We have the board, management team and players to take the club forward now. We have built some great results this season so far. We have 15 clean sheets, a long run of games undefeated, aside from the FA Trophy result. And we all look forward to games with anticipation.

I for one am grateful to the players, management and board for turning this round and giving us so much to look forward to, and I hope this run continues as we should fear no other teams in this league. Also, how great was it for Shaun Miller to get his name on the score-sheet again; I hope this restores his confidence after such a long injury.

Well done to you all for the latter part of 2017, lets make 2018 our year and restore continued pride back in our club again.

They seem to be 15-17 year olds attached to MUFC. After the game, they made their way towards the away end presumably to hassle the away fans.  During the game though vocal, they did the club no favours whatsoever, throwing 3 flares in total and generally misbehaving. I am worried that they are going to bring down our fans good reputation and I was not happy that the ref got involved with the flares towards the end of the game. We could end up being fined, and there is no way I want our club dragged down by a few misbehaving teenagers - there were about 12-20 of them, not regulars.

Disappointed with both the result today, we threw that game away in the last few minutes and I saw it coming as time went on.

One side of me says I would like Tranmere at home and really test us.

Then I say Marine at home or Blyth at home.

Thanks Andrew. Noticed our away form is now starting to match our home form too now!!

I thought all the back 4 played well yesterday, hope Hannigan also now gets a run of games and Ben Harrison continues to shine. Shaun Densmore was also great yesterday, but all the team collectively played well.

.....and that is all the non-league paper had to say about our win yesterday.

That paper is a waste of £1.50, I wanted to read the report on the game yesterday, and all we got was the above line in the FA Trophy round-up.

I will be emailing the paper in no uncertain terms. Anybody else want to they can do so at  nlp@greenwaypublishing.co.uk

Stop me now if you all found anything further on the game.

Went to the game today, this was a fine performance by all our players. They mucked in and rolled their sleeves up. Alfreton were ok, but our defence really did limit them, and when they did manage to break through, Tony Thompson made some great saves. This was just as well because if Alfreton had got the spur of a goal we would have been under immense pressure. JJ's run at the end was outstanding, and he was unlucky not to score. To go on a run like that after 90 + 4 mins shows his fitness and the coaching which I think is making him such a great player for us.

Their fans were very quiet but when you go 2 down inside 15 minutes there is not a lot to cheer anyway. It was not that Alfreton were a particularly bad side, it was just that they could not find any way of breaking us down and ran out of ideas.  We really showed what we can do today and I think we will even give players from the National league a hell of a game.  I feel the league cup games and CSC are distractions now, and we should concentrate on the league and the FA Trophy, as I am more worried now about a fixture backlog.

Sorry to see James Poole have to go off, but we still coped OK without him. Can the club advise on his fitness, him and JJ are my favourite players. All in all I had a great day out yesterday, enjoyed it so much I have booked for next week also. I await the draw on Monday with anticipation, lower Vanarama National team at home would be great.

Well done lads and management, great day out and really enjoyed myself. A director came up to us as we got off the coach  and said when we go in the ground we can use the bar inside there. However, everybody ignored him and went into the Alfreton Supporters club bar instead. Nice three pint session in there before the game and a great pint too!!

Bought him a pint once in the pub on Moss Lane. Great player and I do remember him scoring a similar header to the Runcorn one  against Barnet in a 7-0 rout.

RIP Mal, so sorry to hear of your death. Many happy memories of you and that great team of the 70's/80's and their constant incessant attacking of the oppostion; and their desperate defending.

The Norwegian, what is your name, and can Radio Robins interview him at half time?

Make yourself known at the meeting also.

Best regards
