Altrincham FC First Team / Re: National League Suspended Indefinitely

It'll probably come down to which option is less litigious. At the moment, I'd say null and void.

This has been my thought all along.
The Premier League will relegate nobody because doing so will open them to serious litigation from very rich clubs. It follows then that there will be no promotion either from the Championship, and so on down the leagues.
The only case where this might not happen is that Bury are already gone and League 2 will be one short - I think Barrow probably deserve it but it will be interesting to see what the FA/National League do.
If that happened it would leave one spot up to the National and actually on ppg it would be Wealdstone not KL, however I canít imagine KLs erm Ďcontroversialí chairman taking it with good grace. Perhaps a pre season playoff between the two.

When did we become such a nation of snowflakes ? One case in North Yorkshire (population over 600,000). You've got more chance of being mowed down by an ambulance FFS.
Oh do f**k off
When itís you losing members of your family we will revisit this. By the way have you got enough toilet roll? Snowflake.

Schools are not shut so i dont see how shutting down non-league games makes a difference, it feels like gesture politics.  if the science is against school closures it should also point to this being a waste of time,  I realise that this is a significant issue, but not sure the average non league crowd is much different to going to the pub on a friday night

Quite the opposite really, the football authorities are taking action because the government has decided not to, that the economy is more important than peopleís lives. All public gatherings should be stopped now

If it were the other way round it would be nailed on for Durrell to score

If weíd had an average start we would be dreaming of automatic promotion.
If we play well I fancy us in a one off game against any of them.

The Great Trek begins tonight. In fact, now.
Indeed, currently on a train from Cornwall to London so I can train it down there tomorrow

Kingstonian or Chichester at home, or Ipswich Coventry or Plymouth away
The nightmare is Crawly, Stevenage or FGR away

Obvs I donít get to lots of games but overall I didnít think there was an awful lot wrong with us today, that was two decent teams largely cancelling each other out. Their goal was a shot from distance that went in off the post and we had a few like that which were saved or flew over. These things happen.
The downside is that we donít move it fast enough, we are a streaky side for a reason - when everyone is on it we play fast and trust everyone to be where they should be, today way too many touches and getting their heads up and looking for the pass, well against a Ďtwo banks of four teamí that wonít work

Class player at non-league level. If my memory serves, in the League Cup semi home tie against Mossley in 1979 when we were 4-1 down and O'Keefe had run the show, didn't Stan Allan "take one for the team" and pick a fight with O'keefe and get them both sent off? We then proceeded to win 5-4! :)

Indeed, OíKeefe was THE best non league player of that era and would beat you on his own. I actually bothered going to Old Trafford to watch him play for Everton a couple of years later.
Funny really that the two standout players at that time were OíKeefe and Mark Ward, both of whom have an Ďinterestingí story.

Mantak will not have played many games as intense and physical as that and although he got caught out a couple of times he also showed in flashes that he has something- hopefully he has the right attitude and we can see him progress. He improved during yesterdayís game and it will help when he really knows his role - the impressive thing about Alty at the moment is that feeling that everyone knows exactly what he should be doing in any given situation

I thought we were excellent yesterday and better than them all over the pitch, our control and calmness was quite exceptional and you could see the Brackley players getting more and more exasperated. The support was brilliant too, I would hope we could be heard on RR, and that was as much fun as Iíve had supporting Alty for years.
You can really see something coming together and the players completely buying into it
A couple of big mentions though to Jake and Simon who were both brilliant yesterday, they are the ĎAlty boysí and lead the team.

Itís a bit harsh but the BPA lad waves his leg at Hulme and you are asking for trouble doing that, also although the Ref is not in shot he appears very quickly from right behind and will have had a very good view.
Itís not cricket btw, you donít have to appeal.
