It’s one thing chasing but it’s another thing when it becomes real as Warrington have found out, pressure does funny things

For the first Birmingham game we took a 15 seat minibus up from London, on arrival in Brum we found out it had been called off so we ended up watching Coventry v Watford in a blizzard - we were with the away fans and they didn’t know what to make of us at all

The one that always reminds me, we had a sort of short lived tradition of playing Bowie’s Heroes before big cup games. It came crashing to a halt when we went to the Sylvan specifically to play it on their jukebox before we played Burnley. Still when I hear it I think of cup upsets.
Perhaps I should start again?

I'm sure he's not forgotten that his head was being called for, albeit by a significant minority, after five minutes in the job. There has recently been suggestions on here that he threw a cup game and the club had a game called off on purpose. If he does read this forum, which he shouldn't but it's probably difficult to ignore, how do you think this 'toxic atmosphere' makes him feel in his job?

Were a significant minority calling for his head, that’s not my recollection? One person claimed the game was called off on purpose, and one or two suggested we didn’t try to hard in the trophy. If anyone feels this is discontent I think they need to get out more.

Completely understand your point of view Globby but I think we should go and win some trophies.
I’m amazed that people can’t see the connection, whenever teams at all levels play a weakened team and lose it disrupts their momentum- the thing we have going for us right now is the belief that we will win every game.

mossley away will bring back some scary memories for people who went there in the late 70s . i can recall hanging onto to the emergency exit door on the coach afterour 5-1 defeat in the second leg as 50 yobs in white skinners and harringtons s tried to get on to our coach to attack us despite them winning. my dad lived up there in the 90's and they still dressed the same . wouldnt be surprised if the home fans are all wearing crombies and oxford bags when we go there .
As soon as I saw the name Mossley I started having flashbacks Pete, the things we did for fun in those days
That 5-1 was the second leg of the O'Keefe/Allen semi wasn't it. Not very welcoming, as was often the case it was lads outside who weren't at the game - those were the times though, I'm glad to have lived through them but I wouldn't want anyone else to have to.

What a load of rubbish, its like child wrote it. why don't you save some money and offer to buy the other shareholders out etc, do it properly if it is to be done.

You do realise that criticising a persons written language is the last refuge of someone who has lost the argument

Some would say the argument was lost when twenty odd people left the ground early last Saturd

In a nutshell
Do you not realise yet that this is half the long term support?

Plastic glasses and drinking on the terraces should be allowed also. There won't be any away fans so might aswell make it enjoyable for those still bothering

Correct. I watch a fair bit of Ryman league level stuff down here and boozing on the terraces in plastics is de rigeur in the Ryman Prem. As said the standard next season will be so woeful it has to be rebranded as more of a day out than a football match if we are going to maintain half decent gates. Maybe bottle of Dunham Massey stuff in or something.
Could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that Moss Lane is a 'designated' ground, and once you've reached designated status then you can't lose it. We can lose most other things, but not that.

When I asked about this I was told it was about the attitude of your licensing authority. I watch a bit of southwest peninsula league (step10) you can't take your drink out in Cornwall but can in Devon!

not caused by flares or smoke bombs, but if anyone wants a reminder of how fire and football don't mix well..

I thought the comment at the top of the thread likening a kid throwing a smoke bomb to a serious assault was going to be the most ridiculously stupid non sequitur on this thread
I was wrong
