i have posted my thoughts elsewhere but here are another couple
1. if our only tactic is to be a punt towards dean then we need to get players around him. whenever he won the ball in the air histon got the second ball
2. histon were given so much space and time to play it was unreal. when you play someone better than you, you have to close them down quick
3. 814 was really funny. when they announced it i just shouted 'no it isnt'. about 450 i would have thought

just shows how poor those feeds are
in reality that could have been 5 or 6 to histon today
alty were clueless in all departments. honourable mention to coburn who made a magnificent double save and dealt with everything besides the goal which was unstoppable
worst display was the referee. histon goalkeeper nearly killed senior and the ref either missed it or ignored it
in my opinion there was no way it wasnt deliberate and he should have gone off

1. johnson
2. king
3. heathcote

well you can tell my age from that

johnson because of the length of service, and his attitude which made him the player he was and pulled us out of the mire again and again
the other 2 because of their playing days but also because of what they have been to this club

i really dont mean this to be a hoolie discussion but,,
runcorn at home - there  was a massing non stamford parkand a couple of skirmishes took place.  a big runcorn fan was grappling with an alty fan and a copper jumped on top of them and they all fell to the ground. cue all the rest crowding in and kicking hell out of them.
it was horrible to be a young male in alty for weeks after, the police were not happy

scarboro away and at home the previous year were bad too but for some reason i was able to be away from it all, whereas runcorn felt like it was coming for me, like they knew who you were

the more i think about this the more i realise that my rosy glow of the good old days is rubbish. particularly cup games could be awful
was anyone else at the fac 2nd round at droylesden?

in which case it was one of the first aways i ever did circa '76
there were sheep in the adjoining field behind one goal and the ball kept going out of the ground

it looks like the old golf road to me too

that runcorn semi was the single most frightening experience of my life

Did it kick off?

there was loads of troublle at moss lane (including a copper kicked into a coma) and runcorn were looking for revenge. of course all the T**ts who had been doing the fighting in the first leg were safe at home watching world of sport, while anyone else (old men, kids, anyone) was systematically battered at canal street.
maybe i have overstated that but its how i remember it
anyone else?

Worse crossing I have EVER seen from a full time club

after a while to think about yesterday that was the big thing, their wide men were excellent running with or without the bal, and very tricky but there just wasnt any end product. still i wouldnt be surprised to see the left winger play at a higher level. no-one could claim that stevenage werent the better team and were unlucky, but so what. all that matters is who's leading when time is up
a couple more wins and all should be sorted. we were referred to on the bbc as mid table altrincham, which is a step forward
