The site is great on my computer but I'm unable to access it on my old mobile.

Or rather I can access it but the frame doesn't shrink to the size of the screen.

Is this something that is
a)  going to be addressed in the fullness of time
b)  a consequence of the age of my mobile
c)  a result of something I've missed and there actually is a way to view it?

Hopefully on of the 'boffins' on here can help an old fan out!!!!  Wink

The website has been developed and tested with mobile in mind so I'm thinking we might be on to B or C here mate!

What phone are you on? Drop me a message if you'd prefer.

I think it's a Nokia Lumia 520.

Hope that means something?

Hope Chorley go up and Brackley go South.

Can't understand why everyone seems to think Thursday will be easy (if it goes ahead!)
Bog of a pitch against agricultural hoofballers is the worst case scenario for a team attempting to play passing football without a longball plan B.
Truly hope I'm spectacularly wrong!!  Wink

Are there any other clubs with the suffix ‘Olympic’?
Olympique Lyonnaise?
Olympique de Marseille to give them their seldom used full title.
Yep - that's another one!  Wink

Must admit that I feared the worst when I read the headline on the main site "Looney joins the Board".

My immediate reaction was haven't we got enough already then?

PS: No offence intended to anyone - just thought it was humorous (but Mrs Saughall tells me I'm severely at odds with most people in this regard  Wink  )

Unfortunately this forum died a long time ago and many don't come on here at all anymore and even more just pop on occasionally and don't bother to post anymore. It used to be a place for lively banter and constructive (for the most part) debate. It has become totally caustic and unwelcoming.
I used to be a very regular poster indeed but, although I still come on now and again I very rarely post anymore. The atmosphere and the fun is just not here anymore.
I'm one of those who isn't into twitter or facebook and I rely on the forum and the alty website for my alty news fix but, sad to say, it's too depressing to get into the incessant bickering on here now.
I read the news and ignore the rest.
This club, despite the presence of some here, is a great non-league institution and I've been proud to be a fan/supporter for over fifty years.
I think the vast majority - those staying away and those still coming - recognise there needs to be change at the top but at the moment there's only one show in town.
I just wish some of the contributors on here (of all 'persuasions' and views) would stop acting like f**king big kids - we've got a wonderful club here that needs supporting.

i was thinking that when i cheered when they scored their last minute equaliser and forgot myself , I also seem to have forgotten that i hate Wigan . But never what few short years i will have left will i wish Macc or the Green scum (makes spitting noise) well. weird INNIT

Wigan only seemed to be rivals in the last three years of the cheshire league to me - And their record for 65/6 would have walked the league other years - I resented their bbb attitude but felt sorry for them at the time.  M*cc and the Scum ... that's another thing entirely!

I really shouldn't be like this but I still never  want them to win all these years post re election fiasco

They were the recipients but it wasn't their fault - it was LOOOOton  Wink

I notice that Alty FC kitman Steve Foster is currently occupying third position:  https://altrincham.fantasyclubfootball.co.uk/team-standings Insider knowledge alert there, surely? Controversial...!
I raised this as a concern a few weeks ago and got poo pooed Clearly an unfair advantage he shouldn't be allowed to play

How appropriate!  Grin Grin

Of course it should be segregated, they’re offering free coach travel. It’ll fall on deaf ears though, the priority will be on making sure they have a nice day and selling them a mince pie....

How do I book my pick-up from Trafford College

Get the train to Barnsley and give em a ring!  Grin

One of the strangest players i have ever seen at alty...i never notice him during a game and then i see he scored again..quite bizarre..
Chap came up to me at sutton coldfield and asked hows josh playing..i told him hes the most anonymous player iver ever known yet pops up on the score sheet every week.."im his dad" came the reply..

Had a good chat with his dad (as I found out) pre-season at Winsford.
He then came on this site, if I recall correctly, but after a few controversial posts in the eyes of some signed off and has not re-appeared on here.
Could be mistaken of course.
14  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Shaw Lane lose manager to Boston on: November 22, 2017, 03:58:56 PM
The new Shaw Lane manager is Paul Quinn, who was previously the Brighouse Town manager before leaving in the summer (I think). They  have had a similar rapid rise through the leagues to Shaw Lane, although not quite as meteoric. He is the son of Gerry Quinn, who of course managed us 25 years ago; apologies if that makes anyone feel old.
Let's hope he's as good at his new job as his dad was for us!  Wink PS: Don't need that to make me feel old - the 10 grandchildren (and an 11th due in February) do a good job of that!!!!  Cheesy Roll Eyes
Gerry Quinn did an excellent job for us. He assembled a good team with one of the smallest budgets in the Conference. We had a great FA Cup run to the 2nd Round & finished 10th in the league, with a particularly strong finish. Gerry was very unfortunate to lose his job at the end of October the following season. His last home game was a victory over Slough, who were top of the table at the time. Cue John Maunders returning to the board & the manager is out within a fortnight. Roll Eyes

How very touchy and protective of you! My reference (although admittedly I didn't spell it out) was to the fact that his dad took us to 10th in the conference - a position I was hoping Paul Quinn would emulate for Shaw Lane this year! Leaving us with one fewer rival for promotion!
