More likely only three will be relegated with the usual four coming up if, as you say, no one goes pop.

If that's more than 3p, you've got it! 😉

See they're selling 'goodwill' 🙄. That should put another 2 on the sale price! 😉

I thought Macclesfield were due to get a good wedge (500,000+?) for a parachute payment following their relegation from league 2? Now they're kaput, why can't that money be whacked out between the other 23 National League clubs? If they recategorised the North and South as non-elite, they could play with crowds and sustain themselves.
Everyone's a winner!

PS. I should be in politics! 😉

Perhaps not. I've just realised that that's only one month's money! 😂😂

My understanding is that the season will start on time... But only if the League can source some kind of financial support package from the government and /or the FA.

So yes to a start up without fans BUT only if there's cash help - which is still being sought and not yet guaranteed.

Been on since the start of the week.... No takers yet though

PS. Plenty of time for a 'miracle'. 😉⌚

I think it's the meeting of the National League today. Apparently they might be asking for around 20 million of government support for the three national leagues. If this comes off, or anything like it, we'll be fine. Fingers crossed for developments eh?

Also wonder what the decision re Macclesfield might be?

Does anyone know what time the meeting is and when we might hear back from it?

Report on the radio said it's not yet clear if this means liquidation and receivership or if they'll be allowed to appeal. So it may not be all over quite yet.

I think that's dead wrong. The next step is for MTFC Ltd to be removed from Cos House. The Court then appoints an Official Reciever to act as a Liquidator to wind up the company and then see if the creditors can be paid what they're owing. There's no appeal process, that's it.

R5 saying they have five days to either pay the debt or appeal the decision. Only then will they be liquidated.

Just a reminder that Macc have definitely gone.

Not until tomorrow I thought?* Knowing them, something will turn up.

*by that I mean after midnight tonight 😉

Looks like the 5 days was 5 business days from last Wednesday - so you're right it's today.

Thanks JTH. Sadly, I think I am. As I said though, don't worry, something will turn up for them - it always seems to.

Good old JD, copy/pasting his conspiracy nonsense across multiple threads now.
Have you forgotten about the off-topic thread created for you and Hugh?

The stats are all from ONS! No conspiracy theories, just facts and the opinions of highly regarded scientists.

If you can't handle the truth...!

"But it will infuriate sports governing bodies that insist it is much safer for fans to be in highly regulated, socially-distanced often open-air venues and stadiums than watching on the TV in pubs for instance.

They are not aware of any data or research which proves the return of fans would increase transmission. And they point to the fact that countries like Germany are allowing thousands of fans back inside grounds."

There are other, equally respected scientists who take the opposite view and say the government should be doing more.

What's not open to dispute is that you are swamping what's meant to be a football forum with your 'here's what I reckon', amateur-hour epidemiology. Please stop it.

Not what "I reckon" what others are telling us

I reckon you're on the wrong thread.

Alternatively scrap the season and the table decided in alphabetical order that would have us in the play offs at least Grin
With home advantage throughout! 😉

We believe you.

Having attended the Alty Ladies game this afternoon. I was told by a steward that no one was allowed to stand in the Golf Road end. The away toilets are an absolute disgrace. It looks like they haven't been cleaned since before the lockdown, if at all. So I am not sure how they are going to strictly enforce the social distancing rule if they are not allowing supporters in the Golf Road End.

Did he say why?

There is enough space there to distance surely!

No reason was given

Perhaps they'd just cleaned it. 😉🙄😂

I don't know how reliable it is, but there is talk on the Macc forum that the council is no great lover of MTFC and if they go pop it would validate the lease. The fear is that the ground will then become council property without the caveat of preserving it for sports and it could be flattened to make way for a bypass on the Leek road and a lot of social housing.
One of the many rumours flying around.
15  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Season tickets 2020/21 on: September 19, 2020, 07:12:10 PM
I presume the number of season tickets sold will be less than 1000 (of course I shan't complain if it's more!), but in the unlikely event that there turns out to be more season ticket holders than places available, are there any plans for what will happen?

We'll be having a socially distanced celebration!
