We are in a no lose situation. if he is completely pants we will know before the ned of the season and can replace for next year in the conf north. If he is good he has chance to assess what he needs for next year. Grin

You could say that about anyone. This looks doomed in the same way Gazza failed miserably at Kettering.
I disagree. Mr Bull is a better person than Gazza. I hope he does ok. I respected his loyalty to Wolves.

The question is do I go to Torquay or do I delay a loan repayment?

After a drunken away game many years ago i woke up in Gresford on a Sunday morning. I was expecting the pubs to open at 12 noon but after hanging around until 1pm i decided to ask the locals why there was no sign of life. Most of these ignorant sheepshaggers ignored me or crossed the road to avoid me. I finally found someone who nervously agreed to talk to me and when i asked why no pubs were open he said "It's Sunday". Unbelievably the pubs in Gresford don't open on Sundays. The buses don't seem to run either. I had to walk all the way back to Chester. I hope i never have to go there again.
Was this before they invented buses?

Apparently Liverpool fans are thinking of starting up their grassroots team. Check outhttp;www.afcliverpool.org.uk/

Vics new ground- nice ground when it is finished but mickey mouse organisation. Got in for a tenner cos they had no change. A mate wanted to buy refreshments but got ignored by the teenage staff and they had to borrow stewards from Alty and Witton.
Ashton Utd- Difficult to find. The taxi-driver took me to Curzon Ashton's old ground on last visit. Not very well organised, ran out of programs when they played Hyde in play-offs. No-one knew wot was going on.
Droylsden- awful ground, though improved with terrace behind the goal, ball boys as stewards , terrace covered in pigeon sh*t. Apparently things have improved at Droylsden.
Shrewsbury's old ground.
Deva Stadium- poor organisation, in the middle of nowhere, poor program, impatient supporters. If Chester aren't 1 nil up after 5 minutes the supporters are slagging them off.
1163  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Youth team..whats the point? on: February 18, 2008, 01:16:52 PM
hello isle wight robin can i just tell u how little u know about the point u just made i can name 2 players who have cum out the altrincham youth team in recent years.  Lewis Chalmers now at league leaders Aldershot and a england non league first team player then theres pat mcfadden. i also think is an offense to george heslop who has put so much in to the youth team and had alot of success in da league and cup comps so no i'm sorry da youth team isn't a waste of time.
So it is one more youth player than Chelsea have produced in recent times. Despite Chelsea's millions only John Terry has come through the youth ranks(correct me if I am wrong)

Expect lots of yellow cards and pedantic refereeing from Mr Matadar tonight. Absolutely awful ref!

I agree. But somebody must think he is  a good ref for him to be reffing at this level.
1165  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Frontline for tomorrow on: February 12, 2008, 11:16:52 AM

But the ref the still managed to get 9/10 in NLP.
1167  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Dave Pace on: February 08, 2008, 01:53:34 PM
I have to say I quite like the fella these days but his comments in todays MEN really made me smile

In advance of Saturday's game, Dave Pace, the Droylsden boss, has told the , "We have to beat Alty it's as simple as that, but we're certainly capable of doing so. I've said all along we won't go down and nothing that's happened to us so far has altered that view. It's a case of getting the lads to believe in themselves and, if we can drag ourselves back to within seven points of Alty, with a game in hand, anything's possible. The Bloods have won their last two games; in the league against Kidderminster and in the Setanta Shield against Farsley Celtic.

What about losing three out of four games 5-0 Dave or the 8-0 at Crawley?  There must have been times when he thought "we might go down here..."
Perhaps Mr Pace should have been named Derby manager to go with their new Chairman who thinks Derby are going to be a worldwide brand like Man Utd in 10 years.

I think it will be 5-4 to Droyslden. Missis Potts to win Totesport Trophy now that the ground is not soft enough for last years winner, Heathcote.

I don't think that they have replays in the FA Womens Cup but this season they have introduced replays in the Cheshire County Womens Challenge Cup..

I've just copped for Stockport v Frodsham in the next round
Not much chance of that going to a replay. I remember being linesperson at Mond Rangers v Tranmere a few years ago. Tranmere played a league game in the morning and then played the Cheshire Cup game in the afternoon. They took the piss and won 8-0(i think) Sue Smith play as sweeper.

I was out refereeing in the Cheshire FA Womens Cup a couple of weeks ago.

For as long as I can remember you've had to play to a finish on the day of the original tie (Three 90th minute equalisers in as many years really do piss you off) but this year a replay was indicated should the original match be drawn.

This was to take place the following Sunday, i.e. seven days after the initial match.

I'm not sure whether the seven day rule is applicable for CSC ties or not but the FA nationally set out the order of precedence of competitions which will always place a County FA competition above any League (other than the Premier League which is under the auspices of the FA nationally)

Also, I believe that entry to the Competition is mandatory for those Clubs not granted an exemption.
As my time as secretary of Chester City Ladies F.C. they had to enter the Cheshire Cup to be eligible for the F.A. Women's Cup. I presume it is a similar rule for all football clubs. As for the F.A. Womens Cup. I can't believe they have replays nowadays especially in the Northern Section when Caernarfon could draw Middlesborough. This is absolute lunacy. Consider how much it's costs a club to travel to these games. Especially when these clubs are only amateur clubs and the prize money is not very much in the F.A.Women's Cup.
