Tonight was a complete microcosm of the season so far. We didn't lack for effort, but as usual we couldn't cope with a big, quick, physical team. The tactics were wrong, and I cannot understand the substitution of Lawrie who was our most creative player.

It will take a miracle to keep us up, and like Colin Blunstone "I Don't Believe in Miracles".

If we go down, we'll lose players like Moult, and Rankine, who will be snapped up by National clubs. The remaining squad is full of players who aren't good enough to get us back up. I'm not naming names, but there are only four or five realistically on my retained list.

I've tried so hard to keep faith with Lee Sinnott, but he has to go. Preferably tomorrow morning. And we need a new man in who can build a promotion squad by August.

I'm afraid those of you who think we will stay up probably still believe in Santa Claus. See you at Chorley next season.

We knew all about this 2 years ago. We didn't or maybe couldn't bring in 6 quality players needed to keep us in the National league - and that is not taking injuries into consideration.

I am in no way racist so don't pipe up with that again. I am completely against the tiny majority that were yesterday and I like yourself were shocked by this.

And he can't count. There certainly was not 100 Macc in the family stand and their leader was a woman that sounded like a fog horn.
The issue at Altrincham station when the train arrived was that they were singing and making a noise intimidating the elderly. This annoyed the accompanying Police who made the passengers already on the train (which was full) vacate their seats and stand up in the next carriage. They couldn't have been drunk as they hadn't had access to alcohol for well over 3 hours.  However I can understand someone getting drunk before watching Macc. As I said before most of them looked well under the drinking age. A hand full of City fans in Stockport town centre would soon have put them in their place. Hence, why the GMP had phoned their officers at Stockport.

We've played Macc loads of times in recent years and to be fair they've never caused any problems at County or at their place, the last couple of times they have had about 10 to 15 daft kids tucked in behind the Police but even County's hoolie types just shrug their shoulders and laugh at them. They usually bring about 500 and around 485 of them are sound and just want to support their team, I like Macc and I always stay until late for a drink, the pubs are always full of County fans with no hint of trouble, let's not tar them all with the same brush.

If you had been on Stockport station at 6.15pm last night you would have had a different opinion. The last time I saw that many police at a train station was a London derby at the Den last season, as well as one occasion at Euston late one Saturday night coming back from Alty. What they sing about Stockport is on par with their paranoia with us. I am convinced the Police at Stockport were there for the protection of Macc fans and they were not being allowed into Stockport town. We never use to see many Macc fans as when the conference went national they were in the league below us, and like with Vics they were always obsessed with us being the bigger club.  I sympathise with County's plight as a club and with your fans, we have not an issue with Stockport and personally I would like to see you come right as soon as possible  - Macc can go the other way.
They only brought 400 yesterday, yet criticise us for taking 300 to their dive on a Tuesday night.

To young to drink! I was one of the many on the train home and I can say at least 3/4 of the lads were thoroughly pissed.

I don't know how they managed to get drunk as they were marched from the ground to station by the Cops and waited there for nearly an hour.  The only people they intimidated were Grannies who were forced off their seats and to stand in the next carriage. What was funny was one granny chirping up - "Its a good job its not Manchester United". They did try intimidating my little one (not my 13 year old who is very quiet, but even at his age more than capable of sorting out any of them) and in hindsight my reaction of "bah bah" was not a clever thing to do to Macc fans. As I said earlier the Police were obviously deployed for the safety of the Macc fans and they were mainly kids.

They were making life difficult for the Cops at Altrincham station. We boarded at Hale to avoid these morons. The cops cleared a carriage to accommodate this mouthy mob.  I have never seen so many Cops at Stockport Railway station. Both entrances were blocked by police and numerous cops on all platforms. The Alty police kept them on the Chester-Manchester train and they were still there when I boarded the Euston train (first stop Stoke). I don't think the Macc fans would have been allowed in to Manchester, considering all the noise they were making - although it was quite clear that they were all mouth. And most of them were probably too young to drink. And it was quite obvious that they were acting so stupidly because the police there would be obliged to protect them from any reception in Altrincham, Stockport or Manchester centres.

If the games on I doubt we'll even bring 500 due to the sh!t whether. Though I guess if you guys brought that many to us you'd consider it a fantastic turnout lol.

Getting the excuses in early Mr Hot Air?

A light dusting of snow and you can't make it up the road, we're coming up from London FFS

We are on the 9am train out of Euston so I hope we don't get an hour out of the smoke and the game is called off.

Barry Wood (Lancashire & England opening batsman).

He made one North West Floodit League appearance for Alty in the late 1960s.

That is on par with the question, Which former England international footballer later became a citizen of another country and represented that country at another sport?

I can see why some people's view is that Braintree should have walked off, but then the Conference would have no option but to award Guiseley a win.
It is not a Cup game that could be replayed as in the Arsenal v Sheffield United game when Kano scored.
If replayed Guiseley would have an opportunity to gain another 2 points.

Shocking sportsmanship by Guiseley, and this now sets the tone for every other dodgy club. It is no different to cases where people are allowed to legally take and keep money/things that don't belong to them.

I hope Guiseley don't stay up by a point - especially ahead of us.

I think Welling will finish bottom.
We need our share of luck on the injury front.
We also need to beat the teams around us - something we have failed to do the last 2 seasons.
a win over Macc would really boost our confidence.

On paper, Boreham Wood have the easiest run in for the last 6 games.
We need a couple of surprise wins desperately.

We all make mistakes at work and in our lives, so it is not fair to keep having a pop at those that run and help the club.

I do appreciate what you're saying, but it should work both ways. The way our fans have been treated over the segregation/Popular Side issue is very, very poor.

I fail to see why we pamper to away fans. The answer is simple AWAY FANS GO IN AWAY END. There should be no argument or compromise. I also think we should charge away fans what they charge us at their grounds. I know 2 wrongs do not make a right but we have been treated very shabbily by some of these clubs such as Barnet, Aldershot, Chester, Scouseport, FGR that some of our fans wont go to some of these to cheer on the Robins. We have enough issues to worry about at Alty than about Scousers getting wet.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: A bad night
« on: February 17, 2016, 07:06:11 PM »
A bad two days overall as a club. Firstly the pessimistic view of our finances (although a genuine and honest plea for help), poor team performance combined with peeving off the same fans targeted to help,  by opening the old wound of molly cuddling soft away fans at the expense of our fans - especially from a club that has treated our fans badly in the recent past. We are no longer in the 1970's when provocative away fans got a good kicking, ran off, so problem quickly solved (I am not suggesting that this was right). We all make mistakes at work and in our lives, so it is not fair to keep having a pop at those that run and help the club. We are not going to progress by infighting and slating those Alty fans/directors that give their all for this club. We are not going to get extra help if those who help get criticised and ridiculed for doing so, whether on this forum or elsewhere. We are very lucky that this club is run by fans that have the club genuinely close to their hearts, and to be fair they give their all.

The reality also is that last season we were very fortunate with injuries and fewer postponements. We have not been so lucky this season and hopefully we can weather the storm. The club has tried to solve the problem by bringing in 4 loan signings, so they are not exactly doing nothing. One season of bad luck can cripple a club for years - Leeds United is a classic example. The club does listen to fans - borrowing those covers from LCCC is an example.

We all want the best for Alty and we all get disheartened and frustrated when things don't work or we don't win games that we expect to win or draw. We all think it unfair that we play by the rules while other clubs, such as Crawley progress. Life aint fair. From some of the stupid comments on this forum, you would think that the management and team deliberately sometimes set out to fail. However there have been also some good ideas such as some recent marketing suggestions posted.

Now is the time to get behind the team and behind the club and help where you can - Come on Alty!!!!!!

Brilliant determination by Damian. Similar determination to Michael for the goal last Saturday. Well done.
