Football wise the team are doing well.

Off the pitch maybe people see us as a sinking ship, No stewards,
crowd problems at at least 2 games etc.

Surrounded by the North west riches people and no one has come forward.
I have no idea what the answer but as someone who gave over 20 years
voluntary service to the club my interest in it at is present state is slowly dying,

Yes things on the pitch are going well, But else where we still have problems like the lack of stewards.
I hope 2018 things get better.

By all accounts some stockport county stewards will be on duty at alty today.

Was it true? So get rid of clubs stewards who they were paying £10 per game to save cost, So now they are paying triple this to bring in stewards
from another club doesn't make sense to me.................
I definitely saw at least one steward in a  Stockport County jacket.

So pay more for less as i said doesn't make sense to me.

Mr Rowley asked for a meeting with all the stewards after a alty home game . Before that meeting Mr Rowley had a word with the chief steward and told her to stand down from her duties immediately saying he was doing this because of her health issues he then turned to the assistant chief steward and told him to stand down from his position but to stay as a steward which was not acceptable to him. He then told the stewards what he had done and said I want a happy team here at alty. The stewards then had a meeting which was agreed the majority of the team would be leaving with the chief steward and assistant steward . At this moment alty has a chief steward who is not qualified  and does not want to do on Tuesday I did feel sorry for him he was on a losser from the word go because he had six stewards with him that did not know what to do . The ground needs a minimum of fourteen stewards to man all six gates and the eight pitch side gates which is not happening.

Is the minimum 14 stewards a legal requirement or is that just your opinion that we need that many? I think it's disgusting the way the stewarding team were treated by the club btw.

The pitch side gates are new and probably not been included in the Clubs Safety procedures manual which when i was asked to come back last year i had a look at which hadn't been updated since 2011 when i last did it.
All exits gates should be manned during a game one to stop people opening them to let their mates in, The other in case a ground evacuation is required for whatever reason.
Any steward on a exit gate should not be involved in any other duties.

Presumably you don't go to away games either just in case they haven't got any stewards.

I don't go to any Altrincham games as i now work as a Match day manager for a Stewarding company at a Premiership and Championship club.
I lead a team of any thing from 30-60 Stewards.

So in fact your non-attendance is not because you are worried about there being no stewards. Why then did you imply it was?

Just for the record, one of the stewards in attendance last night did eject someone from the ground.

I stand with what i said i have attended a couple of matches since they got rid of most of the stewards.
As someone who first bought recognised training in for the stewards in saddens me to see how backwards the club has gone.

Really? All credit to the volunteers but they never made me feel particularly safe.

Presumably you don't go to away games either just in case they haven't got any stewards.

In fairness, prior to this season we've hosted numerous teams with an 'element' without much if any trouble, so regardless of our stewards being volunteers we have been kept safe in the past. Last night was the third instance of poor crowd management this season, two of which have put fans in danger.

Spot on

One reason i don't go to games anymore i don't feel safe in that ground if anything happens due to lack of trained people.
This day and age you can't mess about with safety you need to be at the top maybe only a non league game but 400 plus people
is seen as an easy target.
If the ref noticed the flares etc he as to report them so that will be a fine for the Club.

My daughters team match was played this morning in Levenshulme.

On grass!
Astro turf but this normally gets very slippery when frozen

Potentially a plus 1000 gate on Saturday. Neither Manchester side playing, with fans of both sides looking for any excuse not to go to the markets.

Shaw Lane will bring low numbers but please let's not surrender any advantage we have left by letting 50 pisd heads from Barsnley bounce around the Golf Road.

Get it segregated. Get the songs going. Get 300 extra people singing.

As much as Royton Mike wants to meet Shirley and Don from Barnsley, I'm sure he'd rather us win and be top.

Need stewards to segregate last time i was at the ground they were only about 8 or 9 on duty

If they're planning on bringing a good number and are discussing their vocal backing, can we do the professional thing please and get them segregated on the away terrace. Sports Hall before and after the game by all means, but this is the FA Trophy.

Only if the club had stewards to do this...........................Or did
14  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Ramsbottom Match Thread on: November 10, 2017, 10:04:42 AM
They can bring a drum, they won’t get it in the stadium though

Do we have any stewards to stop them?
